This Clear Texture Gesso is perfect for preparing surfaces for painting, drawing and mixed media.
Mont Marte Premium Clear Texture Gesso creates the perfect texture for acrylic and oil paints, as well as dry media such as pastels and pencils. Use it on a range of surfaces including canvas, paper, card and wood.
Directions:
Use a wide brush to apply gesso evenly to canvas, paper, card, wood and other porous surfaces. Once dry, the texture provides perfect adhesion for paints and dry media. Clean up with warm soapy water while wet.

I have used this gesso for my silverpoint work and underpaintings for my egg tempera paintings. It works very well and gives it good luminance.

I use this for sketches, it can sometimes peel away from the paper when using mediums like gouache or water paint and with lots of layers and fiddly details, same with pencils it can scratch away at it, however you can fix it by just whacking another layer over and because it invisible it has no effect on your work, so I have found it really useful for sketches, it has a nice texture to it and it is great for improving the texture quality of cheaper paper I have found myself using it quite a lot for that purpose and I've still got plenty left. Though I will stress I would be reluctant to use this on any serious artwork, though you could and I might even say you'd probably be fine.

This was not clear but was ok to use. Not sure why Id use it now. I also bought a thick white gesso and love using it but dont see the point in this one. I dont think it thins down any paints whether acrylics or oils. Wont be buying again but will finish the bottle for water colourd instead and to seal pensil drawings under paint.

A charmer
It works like a charm. Goes on much the same as white gesso but dries clear. I’ve used it and encountered no problems. I would recommend it to anyone.
Best to hide numbers!
I love doing paint by number and have tried different things to hide the numbers and lines. By far the is the best! After one coat you could barely see the lines and numbers. It is great!

I use it for my paint by numbers canvas. It gives a clear finish so that I can still see the numbers. Also a little rough texture, the paints go properly over the canvas.If you want a smooth texture you can use a fine sandpaper.I am very happy with this product.
