5.0 out of 5 stars It's thumbs up from me 👍
I've had Ring pumps before. They did the job but I didn't think they did anything a different brand might do just as well. When I needed a new pump I noticed this got good reviews on the internet and was cheaper on Bolo so decided just to get it.What I really like about this pump is it feels like it was designed by people who actually use them themselves, so they know what is needed. Also it feels like they have worked to improve on previous designs. It seems to work faster than my previous ones and it's not too noisy (definitely quieter than before), and the buttons are large and convenient. It's also very easy to set the required pressure. But, it's the little things that I really like: The brass connector makes connecting and disconnecting very quick and easy. The power cable is easily long enough and can be wound in with a winder that folds neatly away when finished with. The air line is very easy to tuck away and the pump itself is compact and comes in a handy case, so it's perfect for storing in the car. It's just a shame they haven't found a way to prevent your hands getting dirty! At least they provide a glove, though, which is a thoughtful touch.I can't say how accurate it is because I have no way to test it but other website reviews rated it for it's accuracy and I have no reason to doubt them. I pumped up all four tyres, recently, to their correct pressure before going on a long journey, and my car felt much better for it (it's quite a while since I last did it and I'd forgotten what it should feel like).I'm happy to give things 4 or 5 star ratings but I don't often recommend devices or services because other people requirements and experiences can vary. In this case, though, I do recommend this pump because it it so convenient and well designed and engineered, not just form over function.
5.0 out of 5 stars does the job well.
This was a replacement for an earlier model which packed up after quite a few years service. This one is a much better design though, and inflates more rapidly. The digital display is large and clear and as it's in Psi only, it's a doddle to set. The integral cable on the rear pulls out, sort of like a turntable which you wind back in when finished with the raised knob The air connector hose folds away in a recess on the side and there's an adapter for blowing up other things to car tyres. The whole thing fits neatly into a soft carry case. The unit is operated from the car 12 Volt socket (remember the days when it used to be called a cigarette lighter with a cigarette symbol on it?). For connecting to car tyres the metal valve is good quality, and when screwed in place will give you the current air pressure in the tyre. Simply turn the knob to set the target pressure, and then press the bar type button at the bottom of the unit, which will begin to inflate, and stop when the target pressure is reached. If you are letting air out, there is a bleed button on the valve connector to do this 15 minutes is quoted as the max continuous running time for the unit. The integral light is quite adequate to see what you are doing in the dark. For auto use, these are an indispensable aid that I think everyone who doesn't have one should have, and very handy to keep in the car. To think years ago I used foot pump!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great inflator but cable needs to be longer.
Good little inflator. Although some say it's bulky, it is in fact more compact than the one I'm replacing. It's solidly built and inflates the tyres pretty rapidly. The hose-to-valve screw on connector is in my opinion, easier to use and more secure than the snap-on lever type I had before.Three variable readouts on the bright clear screen (PSI, BAR and kPi).It's also quieter than my old one, 90db v 97db, and has neater storage for hose and cable which winds nicely back into the body, so avoiding squeezing spaghetti into a recess and having to untangle cable before useI do have a gripe though. The blurb states that 'The long 3.5M cable and 70cm air Hose make it easy to reach the tyres all around the vehicle.' This isn't the case for my car and I suspect other more recent cars which have the 12 volt socket in the boot. The only way to reach the front tyres is to feed the cable through the ski hatch and through the interior of the car. There is then very little slack in the cable which makes it awkward if there are people or equipment in the car. Another metre on the cable would ease this scenario. It may be harsh but I've just been using it in a rain/hail squall and having to open three doors and the boot while faffing about, ended up with the passengers getting pretty wet and grumpy. Nevertheless 4 stars for being a brilliant wee machine but one off for the short cable.
5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect kit for the car
This tyre inflator is so easy to use. It works quickly to inflate the tyre then you just pack it away. Great product.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality tyre inflator
I primarily wanted a tyre inflator with a metal nozzle to fit onto the tyre. This does the job perfectly and has a high quality feel to it. It is also very simple to use and highly effective in getting my car tyres to the correct PSI. The bag which comes with the inflator is also good quality and packs it up nicely so that it can be left in the boot.
Well designed and functional.
Bought an 8 mm Car Valve Lever Plug Air Chuck Brass Tyre Inflator Valve to screw onto the valve connector and fitted it.Plugged the unit into the cigarette lighter socket which took a hard push but it fitted.Connected the valve to the tyre valve and waited for the reading to settle. Selected the Bar option and the value ( in this case 2.2) and pushed the power buttonIt functioned as described.I'm right handed so having the torch on the right hand side of the unit where the pressure hose is fitted is sensible as I can see and operate the unit. The power cable reaches the front and rear tyres from the lighter socket with some to spare. At the moment I cannot fault this unit.A well thought out little unit that now lives in the car boot.
