5.0 out of 5 stars So cold - best air cooler
(function(){ P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function'){ A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })() This air cooler blows out really cold air even without adding water and ice. I use it for my babies room and it gets the temperature down really fast. She is quite a sweaty baby and is always hot especially when sleeping but with the cooler she is not sweaty at all. When we had a few days of really hot weather I loved into my living room and had to turn it off at one point because it made me cold.It is really easy to move around on the wheels and is very light. It doesn’t take up much room.I would say it is as loud as any fan you would buy. It is definitely worth the purchase
4.0 out of 5 stars Temper you expectations
It does work very well. Dont expect it to cool the room for you. Your room has to be ventilated, it will give a nice breeze 3-5 degrees below ambient. In a closed room it will become warm and humid. Although it doesn't seem to cool the air very much, after 30 minutes or so it begins to feel quite cold and I have needed to turn the fan down or the water flow off, even on very hot days. It is very quiet on the low setting, ideal for the bedroom at night. Again you need a ventilated room, the lower the ambient humidity the better it will work. The water tank is big, it lasts more than a day often several days. Though if you leave water in it too long it will smell, easily remedied by emptying, cleaning the tank and pad and refilling, adding a drop of disinfectant, dettol or the like. Make sure it is completely dry inside before packing away for the winter. I have been looking for a replacement pad after 3 summers. The manufacturer said 'sorry you are out of warranty, we don't sell spare parts. Perhaps you could try Bolo for a suitable alternative '. No help there. I guess as far as they're concerned when the pad falls apart you can just buy a new machine. I hope the pad will last another 1 or 2 years then we have seen some natural fibre replacement possibilities through Google. Hopefully by then someone will be selling a cut to fit universal evaporative pad.
5.0 out of 5 stars Helped Keep The Temperature Down On The Hottest June Days
I ordered this Pro Breeze 10L Portable Air Cooler as temperatures were reaching 30 degrees, it arrived next day and was easy to set up though the instruction manual could be better at explaining how to best use an air cooler which is best put by an open window to draw the warm air through and turning it into cold air via the cold water and fan at the front. This is on Pro Breeze’s own website. It seems cooler than my pedestal fans. I wanted to get the temperature down in my kitchen to stop the fridge freezer breaking down again as it did last year once temperatures get over 30 degrees (it’s an LG American fridge freezer) the air cooler definitely helped keep the temperature lower and under 30 degrees which gave me peace of mind as last year was a nightmare as we had lots of frozen food wasted and chilled food too as the only way to get the fridge freezer working again is to empty it and let it defrost, melting the built up ice at the back of the fridge which took a day or two. Keeping the temperature down with an air cooler seemed a better option this year. It comes with two small ice packs which really help keep the water colder, plus adding ice helps too. It’s 55W so only pennies to run (like any unheated fan). If you register your air cooler within 7 days of purchase Pro Breeze will extend your warranty to 2 years from 1 year too, just go to the standard registration. The 10L water container seems to last 2 days with added ice cubes without a problem. The air cooler is simple to use and feels well made, the wheels make it easy to move around. It’s not an air conditioning machine but it is better than just a fan, just draw the curtains and put the back of the air cooler near an open window. Ours is working well so far, I recommend it.
3.0 out of 5 stars Good fan, bad cooler
The fan is loud but powerful. Using any buttons causes beeping which isn’t ideal when we bought it for our babies room and would want it to be silent if we had to sneak in to change the settings. The air cooling setting made the room warm, humid and smell damp. We are returning and buying a normal, quiet fan instead.
5.0 out of 5 stars Blown away with how cool it is ! A life saver . Update after 2 Years.
I have some med conditions and was in fear of the heatwave , last two years have ended up in hospital with heatstroke. This is NOT a medical device but was lucky enough to get one before it sold out . It has possibly saved my life with amazing cooling it gives , mine is the 10 litre . Lowered my room from 35c to 25c which is lifesaving. All functions work perfectly, easy to fill and add extra ice packs if needed .I cannot fault it at all , if you can find one for sale.... dont hesitate ..Update .2 Months into using this 10l cooler and as happy with it as the first day. Tip. instead of emptying and drying with towels etc wait till the water level is low then put it on the kitchen top and drain it with the easy to use drain clip into your sink ,I sprayed the inside with antibacterial cleaner , rinse with tap spray hose and repeated and a damp cloth wipe to finish drained and placed back where it is used , refilled and chilled out . Do not use a bleach based spray cleaner , just an anti bac . It is very light when drained so it is easy to lift onto worktop. Don't procrastinate . Get one .2 Year Update.Still looks and works as the first day. I have done an Energy costing for 2022 at the horrific new tariff we are on. £0.356 pence p/Kw. Standing charge £0.22 pence per day .... It is rated at 55w/per hourBased on 12 hrs per day running,12 x 55 = 660w660w x 30 days = 19.8Kw.19.8Kw x £0.356 pence = £7.05 per month approx. Add £0.22 Standing charge x 30 days£0.22 x 30 days = £6.60Add VAT @5%£7.05 +£6.60 +Sub =£13.65=+ 5% = £14.33Total Running cost per month @12 hours per day is£14.33 Approx. . I would imagine this is the highest figure due to 12 hours per day is extremely high use and also this sum is based on my supplier charges .I hope this helps.
