The media could not be loaded. Initially i got this for my 12 year old Son, i thought it would be perfect to test out this toy as he is really interested in magnets. His initial thoughts was a real sense of enjoyment, initially after first opening GeoMag 200 Classic piece, he concentrated in making the designed structures inside the booklet, it provided him with many designs, as he progressed he created other designs like the spinning top style magnet, it was fascinating to watch a pyramid hanging from the frame of his table spinning for a very long time. The GeoMag is not exclusively for children, Adults like myself had a great time with it too, i think its the pleasure of magnetically connecting the yellow pillars and metal ballbearings together, the magnet strength are from the yellow pillars, they are relatively powerful but not too much that a child couldn’t take apart. I had my 3 year old niece play with the set too (full concentrated supervision was needed due to the small pieces like the ball bearings - Not really recommended for very young children). The fact that structures can be so easily taken apart is a plus too, unlike other structure building brick toys, this can be disassembled in a matter of seconds.One slight downside is that the plastic panels can fall off pretty easily, they are almost held on by ‘hope of it not falling out’ type of scenario, but I can understand the reasons, as the structure is held together by magnets. Moving/carrying larger structure with panels is pretty impossible without one or two plastic panels falling out.Final Thoughts, the GeoMag is excellent and every single piece is manufactured to top standards. This set can be creative and fun for older kids, the presentation is beautiful, the yellow magnet pillar and ball bearings is stored in ‘perfect fit’ plastic boxes. Fun toy for the kids and can easily be put away for storage, for adults its relaxing and passes time while playing casually and talking to friends/relatives. The beauty of the GeoMag is no instructions needed, anyone can just have a go at creating, just pick it up and go.

Geomag is one of the most versatile & fun STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering and Math] toys around.Invented and patented by Claudio Vicentelli in May 1998. It comprises of bars with a magnet on each end (neodymium alloy) all attached by a magnetic plug (coated with100% recycled plastic), and metal spheres with a bronze alloy coating [they used to be nickel-coated but the introduction of the 2009/48/EC law on 20 July 2013 changed this].The possibilities that GEOMAG give you for construction are only limited by the mind & the size of the set you have. Unfortunately the sets tend to cost a fair bit of money which can limit the amount you have, but they are very well made & pretty hard to destroy/damage so they will last you for generations once you have them.I had a fair collection at one point, but gave them on to a friends child who was really taken with them. They were the ones with shorter bars. This set has bars that are about 6cm long. The contents of the set are: - 36 metallic balls, 36 light green magnetic rods and 24 triangular panels, 12 panels, 6 dark green, blue and light blue pentagonal panel. The rods & metallic balls come with three plastic cases so that they can be stored or transported safely. Personally I'm not overly fond of the panels. I rarely use them & if being honest would rather have more balls & rods in their place.As you may have guessed I'm not a child, I'm a 50+ year old man & "play with them a lot. They're very relaxing to play with & get the mind going on what you can do with them. Being a stem toy they aren't just a play thing, you can represent crystalline structures, engineering principles, & great for explaining magnetic forces.Though I've mentioned that they are quite expensive, they are a really long-lasting, worthwhile & fun toy. This coupled that they are made from recycled materials means that I think they are a really good buy.

The media could not be loaded. Endless fun, what a fantastic creative toy, just millions of combinations to discover, the pieces are so well made and will last forever, the magnets are very strong and all the items are very precise with a selection of colours and shapes, worth every penny, this particular kit is I understand the larger one 200pcs but I am very impressed and I am an adult, the grandchildren love it.
