The sound is excruciatingly loud! Imagine standing under your burglar alarm when it's going off and you get an idea of how loud it is. It does takes a few seconds of pressing the button for the alarm to switch off. I would recommend trying it out so you do know how it works beforehand - hopefully you won't need it but, once this goes off, it will definitely attract passers-by attention and in the process startling/putting off any would be attacker.Fits easily onto existing key ring (and can also be carried independently), without making it feel heavy.I also like the fact that it is rechargeable and not battery operated. Set your phone reminder for the recharge frequency you desire and it will be a reassuring deterrent in your pocket.

I tried my alarm out and it is good, although neighbours will be wondering where noise is coming from, but I had to do it to make sure it was working properly. The plain white box didn't do it justice though, for a quite expensive alarm.

this is a nifty little gadget. i bought it for my friend. she has just moved in to a flat in the suberbs and is being stalked by foxes, when she takes her dog out at night. Obviously i have told her they won't hurt her, but never the less she is frightened. she feels a lot happier carrying this alarm, as one blast from it scares them away.

Bought this for my daughter when she went to university. It is useful to carry and you can also attach it to your bag like a keyring so you can easily find it. The alarm isn't as loud as I thought it would be

Bought 2 mainly for my wife for her early morning walks. Easy to use - pull the pin and the alarm goes off loudly. The pin is retained. Double click the SOS button to activate the alarm and strobe, hold for 3secs to turn off (pin should be pushed back). Activate the light with switch on the side, this is not a torch. Enough light to be seen or illuminate a key hole. Strobe is very effective. Small red led next to SOS button indicates when the unit is charging. The led goes off when fully charged. Wife very pleased !
