Seen a lot of adverts for toasted sandwich makers and I have two very large & bulky ones. To use this in the microwave is genius. Works really well & makes delicious toasted sandwiches. Easy & quick to clean & store away.

This toastie is brilliant. No wondering where you last put the sandwich toaster , pugging it in only to find that the last person hasn’t cleaned it ! So simple and tastes just as good too. Just a quick wipe after and ready to go again. Just be careful as you turn it over as it is very hot! My husband even makes his own now !!!

This is one of those 'Why haven't I heard about this until now?' items.Having always loved toasted sandwiches but never having the ability to make them whilst camping, I jumped at the chance to buy one when the Bolo algorithm highlighted it.Like most people I was dubious at the prospect of placing metal in a microwave, but it just works. The Mico seems well made, is dishwasher safe and produces beautifully toasted sandwiches if you follow the instructions (butter your bread slices or oil the plates before you load them up with your sandwich of choice, and flip the Mico over halfway through cooking to ensure even browning).With the 900W microwave at home it takes two minutes each side to do its job. And with the 600W microwave which we use in our campervan it takes 2.5-3 minutes per side depending upon how generous we are with the filling. Everything is perfectly cooked (cheese is always hotter than the sun) and once you're finished it takes seconds to clean.It's not perfect however. The plates could be a little larger (you need to squash the slices a little or slice off the tops if they're oversized), and they don't seal the slices together like a conventional toastie maker so flip carefully to prevent escaped filling. Also, it can be a hassle to slot the plates back into their silicone cases after washing - I'm not sure how the silicone will last before it starts to split after being repeatedly stretched back over the plates.At the time of this review £25 seems a little steep for what it is, but then again the Mico negates the need for a sandwich maker, and it can be used to cook other items - I've already used it to cook bacon and sausages and they come out great. As a means to make your microwave a little more versatile without the need for other devices then I can't complain. And the fact that I can now enjoy a corned beef and beetroot toastie whilst camping in the mountains is something I never thought I'd do. Result!

This microwave toasted sandwich maker really does work - and very well, too! The bread comes out well-toasted. Perhaps next time, I will set the timer for just 2 minutes (as opposed to the 2 minutes, 30 seconds recommended in the manual) so that it's a little less brown. But you get the stripey effect and all the rest and it is very easy to clean after use.I have a brilliant P*****nic combination microwave/grill/convection oven, whose benefits are that you can operate each mode independently, or together. When I read that it's "Not suitable for conventional ovens, hobs, grills or combination microwave ovens" I was terribly disappointed and nearly didn't buy the toastie maker. However, having read the reviews here, I learned that it's perfectly fine to use it on "Microwave Only" mode with your combination microwave oven. You simply have to be sensible enough NOT to use it in combination with any other modes.I'd unhesitatingly recommend this toastie maker. It's very clever!

This is a great cooking gadget! I tried it in my campervan the day it arrived to do a cheese toasty. The microwave in the van is only 500w. So i cooked for well done - 3mins then turn and 2mins..I think... Great result, really crunchy toasty just as I like them and really easy / quick to do. I have now done crumpets and they are better than done in toaster. A light coating of marg both sides beforehand got a good crunchy finish.

Used for the first time and it worked pretty well.I am sure with a little more practice that I can get it to my liking.The downside of this is it's quite small you can't get a decent slice of bread or panini etc in so you have cut it in half and do them separately It would be great where it bigger.
Funziona, bisogna trovare la temperatura giusta
Funziona molto bene, le tempistiche dipendono dal forno a microonde e dalla potenza (l'ho sempre usato a 900W). Una nota: se si cuociono diversi toast in sequenza, le piastre rimangono calde di volta in volta e, di conseguenza, i tempi di cottura devono essere ridotti di volta in volta.

Compré este artículo con poco convencimiento la verdad, me gusta de vez en cuando hacerme un sándwich mixto pero no tenía ganas de comprar una sandwichera porque son feas y grandes, ocupan demasiado espacio para lo que se usan (al menos yo) y compré esto para probar… si no funciona la devuelvo y andando.Pero funciona súper bien, 1 minuto y medio a tope, vuelta y otro minuto… queda el sándwich doradito y estupendo, no te quemas si lo coges con cuidado y se limpia en un plis, con una servilleta de papel si no quieres estar metiéndolo en el lavavajillas o en este si no lo vas a volver a usar inminentemente…Queda perfecto y se guarda en cualquier sitio.Para uno solo o para una pareja es ideal. Ten en cuenta que solo cabe un sándwich a la vez.
