5.0 out of 5 stars Monster value!

    j.h. · 5 April 2022

I’ve had the cheaper edifier 1855db speakers for a year and really enjoyed them, but wanted MORE.After plugging in and connecting using tidal via Bluetooth from my iPhone for a few hours I’m delighted with them. More bass, detail, depth, authority, impact, and that’s before they’re properly run in. Can’t wait to see how they improve over time. The bass scale is really impressive, some might find it a bit too much, but you can always dial it back with the eq. It’s big, wonderful, detailed bass and sounds very natural. These are beautifully packaged and made, the wooden veneers look great, remote works really well. I’d say these represent a genuine bargain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Value exceeds the price

Having spent probably close on 3 months researching what speakers to buy to pair up with my record player, I eventually took the plunge and ordered a set of these Edifiers. They blew me away. For the money is spent, these match some of the more expensive units. I am like a kid in a candy store - Hotel California live 1994 from the Eagles, you feel the guitar strokes in your soul, Metallica on these have a crisp and clear base line that come through without distorting, crisp, clear and direct.I would highly recommend.Only negative is the volume on the back of the speaker, that cannot be controlled with the remote, but a minor issue compared to the benefits

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Low End w/o Sub

Nifty little speakers. Bluetooth connectivity is quite good. I also really liked the build of the wooden facade, very classy. In terms of the sound of the lows are surprisingly rich. Sound staging is also quite good. For the price, I think the stands at an odd place. I think to be more competitive it should be £50 cheaper than it currently is for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well connected, fantastic sound quality and superb build quality

As soon as they are out of the quality packaging; within 5 minutes via Bluetooth from my iPad I was playing music whilst connecting my TV and CD player, it was that easy! Everything you need is their in the box. As for the sound I can only compare them to my Icon Audio speakers that came in at more than double the price....Edifier were at least as clear in the mid/higher ranges and slightly better in the base range. Clearly not worn in yet, so expecting the sounds to improve further. Overall clarity of various songs from rock, soul, swing, pop and blues wether from the Bluetooth, optical or RCA connection did not disappoint at all. Definitely worth the money and then some!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sound and robust sturdy build

I'm in the process of running these speakers in.So far i'm impressed.Tried them out for music and i have them connected to my tv with optical cable and bluray player via coax. These speakers don't miss a bit.I bought these as an update/upgrade on some previous Edifier speakers.Very happy with my purchase and would happily buy Edifier speakers again.Good quality build and satisfyingly heavy for their size.Pink Floyd and The Orb sound refined, epic and spacious on these speakers played from Qobuz and Apple music HD.Stereo separation is good too, both with music and tv sounds.I have the speakers about 4.5 metres apart with my tv in the middle of the soundstage. I used to have separates and a 5.1 setup but these speakers offer up a simpler alternative. The 5pin din braided speaker cable provided looks good quality and has plenty of spare length to it & appears built to last.Over all 8/10.Would be 10 if the remote was more premium.

2.0 out of 5 stars Volume “died” after less than 2 months.

    A.C. · 4 May 2022

The “customers” who gave this 5 stars must have been lucky that it kept going. Had to return mine after less than 2 months as the volume “died”. Full refund given with no fuss as Fencom is obviously an excellent seller. It’s made beautifully and looks very imposing (bee’s knees) and also extremely heavy. When packed could not lift it and had to drag it to the door for collection on a carpet with wife helping. Not sure whether I really liked it or not as the bass consistently takes over. Dance music sounds fabulous if you can (allowed to) play it loud as the bass is the best part of it but for “normal” listening is no great shakes. It is the second Edifier returned faulty in a few weeks. I replaced it with R1700BTs but that would not power up after a day. Also returned for full refund. Perhaps I was just unlucky, but twice? Could be third time lucky of course but could do without the hassle thank you. No more Edifier for me!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good! Not quite what I was hoping for but almost there.

These are pretty good speakers. The low end is ok and if you get in the right place it rumbles nicely. As others have said it probably needs a bigger room than i have as I can only just get far enough away to really hear the deep bass, around 3 meters. If my room was bigger i think they'd sound great. They have obviously addressed the control issue as my remote is fine and feels nice. Nice clarity, good amount of input options and deep low end (if youre in the sweet spot). Overall I'm pretty happy.. just not blown away.
