5.0 out of 5 stars A great product!
I have been using Logitech 'Trackball' mice ever since they arrived in 2001 and never changed even though I've tried others, they were never, ever close. I decided to try this mouse because I really wanted a 'wired' trackball (thumb) mouse. What a brilliant design! So far it's been great! The buttons are shallow and smooth to the click. The ball is in perfect position for my hand and the the height is very comfortable. It is performing very well so far and I even like the purple colour of the ball :PI really hope the ball stays smooth over the coming months as some trackballs become scratchy after a while...here's hoping! A great price for a great product.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great trackball mouse but has a scroll wheel problem
This is a great trackball mouse. Comes with 2 different magnetic bases to adjust the height and angle of the mouse. There are 2 DPI settings although I find the high setting to be way too fast for me. The button to quickly switch between windows is handy. The fact that it requires 2 AAA batteries can be seen as a positive or a negative. Theres no unreplaceable battery that you have to charge so you can just swap the batteries out but it does mean occasionally buying some unless you have some rechargable AAA ones. The main negative though and why this only got 4 stars is because of the scroll wheel. I already sent one back because when I try to scroll down a page it would randomly scroll up and down. The thing that points to this being a problem is that the replacement I got sent also has the same problem. I couldn't be bothered sending it back again, and it does seem to have mostly gone away after using it for some time, but this is a thing that would might put people off buying one. Apart from that I have had no other issues and the wireless works great using the included receiver.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality and comfortable to use
Good quality product, well packaged and easy to set up. I use one of the two plates fitted to the bottom of the mouse, to achieve the correct angle for my hand. I find the mouse to be a little too responsive at times - the cursor speeds across the screen sometimes, but overall I'm very happy with it. A worthy successor to my old Logitech mouse.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable to use.
I purchased the Perixx Perimice-520 wired mouse to replace my Logitech Trackman T-RB22 which seems to have finally given up the ghost after about 18yrs faithful service !The fact that the Perixx is not wireless is no issue for me in my use whatsoever. But as photo/video editing is my thing, comfort is paramount and I thought I would give this a try given the two angled bases supplied, which enable you to have a choice of customising the angle at which the mouse sits in order to give better comfort.I found this to be a real benefit and has reduced any discomfort due to long periods of use.It is a rather large unit but again, not a problem, in fact, for me, it adds to the comfort.Combined with the available customisation and smooth trackball, I am more than satisfied with the Perimice-520.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty nice trackball, but lack of programmability is a missed opportunity
This is the first time I've seriously used a trackball and I'm pretty pleased with this model. The ball itself feels really nice - I got used to it much quicker than I expected, and it's easy to move accurately around the screen. (It worked better with "Enhance pointer precision" disabled in Windows.)The buttons are better suited to those with bigger hands, but mostly don't feel too bad after a few days. The scroll wheel is quite chunky - it's OK for scrolling, but pressing it down (to act as a middle button) requires an uncomfortable level of force. The little "mission control" button behind the scroll wheel is actually ergonomically pretty convenient - but that brings me to my last point...While Perixx supplies a driver for the 520 (wired) model which lets you change what the buttons do, there isn't one for the 720 (wireless). So the average non-technical user is going to be stuck with the default button assignments. If you're happy to use AutoHotKey then you can find some scripts online to remap most of the buttons - but the "Mission Control" button is more of a pain, because it actually presents itself to the operating system as a keyboard device that sends Alt and Tab keystrokes when you press it. You can get around this using the AutoHotInterception library in conjunction with AutoHotKey - I now have mine set up as a middle mouse button, but come on Perixx! Users shouldn't really have to go to those technical lengths to do what should be quite basic configuration.(As far as I can tell, with the 520 wired model you can reprogram all the buttons *except* the "mission control" - you still have to do some tinkering with AHK and AHI to program that one.)I'm still happy with my purchase, but it would be really improved by quite a small amount of software investment from Perixx.
3.0 out of 5 stars Good mouse but it would be better if it comes with rechargable pin
overall goodNice to have an off button on top/side and a rechargeable battery
5.0 out of 5 stars It's OK thanks
It's ok thanks
2.0 out of 5 stars Scroller broke after some months
Very Comfortable, responsive trackball but ultimately useless after the scroller broke - It gets stuck in a cycle of going up when you scroll down, then goes back and forth small amounts repeatedly, has even done it when your not touching the mouse. Seems to be a recurring problem, drivers up to date & no info on support page, Replaced with another brand.
Kann was!
Smooth tracking
Quite pleasantly surprised by this trackball, the ball itself rolls a lot smoother than other trackballs in this price category that I've tried, for example from Sanwa. Overall the device is pretty comfortable for my slightly larger than average hands, it's neither big nor small. Everything worked perfectly for me out of the box in terms of connectivity besides the software on the website, which doesn't allow me to open the configuration window from the taskbar and there doesn't seem to be any other way to open this.
