Update: the grey plush cover isn’t the best choice for dogs who shed a lot of hair. It really does cling onto the hairs and even tumble drying (be aware that it is labelled as not to be tumbled dried! If you dry for too long it shrinks- which is why they say not to tumble it) doesn’t remove the hairs. Best bet is to shake out as much as you can it sticky roll it. Would advise one of the other types of covers for big shedders. Would really love a more attractive cover for this bed instead of grey.We’ve just moved into a new house with a very hard (and rather ugly) flagstone floor. The dog’s normal folded over single duvet wasn’t cutting it and he was getting sore elbows. He is a 9 year old German Shepherd, 45-50kg and 110cm from nose to butt. I wanted to get him the XXL but was vetoed and we got the XL in the end.The bed does come squashed up and it takes a few hours to expand properly. It filled the cover really well. I can only imagine that those who posted negative comments didn’t realise that the mattress hadn’t expanded yet as it does fill out to be very thick and supportive. I chose the soft cover because I thought it would look nicer than the waterproof. It’s just as it looks in the pictures. Haven’t washed it yet but presume it will wash and dry fine.The bed is the right size- he’s a really big dog and unless you have something like a Great Dane or St Bernard the XL would be fine for most large breed dogs.It’s very firm and supportive. You can see on the pics I’ve attached that even as a big heavy dog the mattress is supporting him really well.Overall I’m really pleased with the bed, the dog loves it and the cat will be on it as well within a week I imagine!I was hesitant about spending so much on a dog bed without seeing it but needn’t have been. It is the best quality dog bed I’ve seen and whilst it’s a lot of money I know that my dog is comfortable and his old bones are well supported and off the cold hard floor.My only request would be for more choices in soft covers. I would love some other colours or maybe some stylish patterns like thin pale pinstripes or little stars.

My 45kg German Shepherd loves his new bed! It's nice and deep so his weight doesn't make it cave into the floor, the fabric is very durable and cooling as well as easy to wash and he absolutely loves the pommel for his head. We must have gone through about 6 different beds before finding this one, they were all either too thin, fell apart within a few days or impossible to hoover/wash, I won't be going anywhere else for a new bed in the future and highly recommend this especially if you have a big heavy dog like us :)

This review is more about my personal preference than the quality of the dog bed.The bed indeed comes flat packed and it inflated very quickly to full size with no issues whatsoever. It’s a perfect size for my male lab and as he is now 12, the extra thick padding is much better for his joints especially as we have a tiled floor.I just wish I’d ordered the plush or fur one as he prefers the soft ‘bed like’ feel of that kind of bed to the waterproof plastic noisy feel of the one I picked. Hence I have to place a blanket on it which of course doesn’t stay on it.Still the bed itself is top notch and I’m pleased I bought the make as it’s excellent quality.

We have had this bed since March and it’s the best dog bed we’ve ever had. I felt I had to write a review now due to recents events and how well it’s gone through.We usually have a couple fleece blankets on it because it’s easy to whip those off and wash them. He hasn’t been sick on them or had any accidents or anything, so with the hot weather recently I decided to just leave it bare so it was a bit cooler.Wouldn’t you know it, yesterday he absolutely covered the entire bed in sick. Seemingly he ate something in the garden that disagreed with him. It was horrific.Even though it’s been a good bed up to now I thought “this might be the end for it”. I dragged it out the back door, picked up and sopped up what I could (using a whole roll of paper towels). Then I took the cover(s) off. I figured it would be like other beds we’d had, “water resistant” meaning it still leaks into mattress. How wrong I was! Under the tough canvas outer cover there was a white waterproof fabric cover! It had kept the foam underneath pristine!I chucked both the inner and outer covers into the washer with some good bio detergent and a good rinse cycle. Then, because it was nearing bed time and I didn’t have time to air dry, I put them into my dryer for a bit on “mixed materials/low” (I have no idea what the washing instructions are actually as I didn’t look, there was no way I was attempting to hand wash this disaster though.) I worried it might fall apart, but no! Both covers cake came out perfectly clean and as good as new!My next worry was is this going to fit back on the foam? No problem! The white under cover was easy to get on right with the help of my teen son holding the mattress up for me. The canvas cover fully unzips and couldn’t be easier to get back on, you just lay the mattress into it and zip away.This bed couldn’t be better on a lot of levels, it is so comfy for our dog (and we even sat on it a little when our couch broke and we had two days before the new one arrived!!), hard wearing (only bed he has not destroyed), and very easy to clean! I will recommend this bed to all our dog owning friends.I have seen people say it didn’t puff up or was flat, this is not my experience at all, after a day or two of being unpacked it puffed up fully and has kept its shape with a large dog using it heavily.My only slight annoyance is I wish the choices of cover weren’t so much more than the Union Jack one. I’d have preferred a different cover but couldn’t justify it at the time as I was already unsure if this bed would last due to past experiences with other beds. It is still a very good five star bed though, that is just my preference. And now that I know it’s so good I wish I had spent more and got a cover I actually liked.

This has been the best dog bed I have ever had for my pet, it's easy to wipe down and clean very comfortable and thick for my Dog, it maybe one of the more expensive options but this is the dogs nuts..

This is the second one I’ve bought great bed
The foam insert mattress is too hard and my dog will not get and stay on it.
See comment above. Very expensive bed and dog will not get on it. The foam insert mattress is too hard and now I have this enormous, expensive dog bed that my 97 pound Golden will not lay on.
Durable, great size and worth the cost
Our 85 lb Boxer loves this bed. It is large enough for him to sprawl out on. We have had this for for several years now and it is still in the same condition when we received it. We have had to replace dog beds fairly often because they are hard to keep clean and just wear out and sort of deflate. In the long run this has been a better value. This bed is easy to keep clean; love the water proof cover. We throw a fleece blanket on top. It has not begun to flatten one bit. We cycled through futons, roll-up, and blow up mattress for the grandchildren. None of which equaled the quality of this dog bed. So we ordered one for the Grandchildren to sleep on when they visit. Just a good decent mattress and cover with an excellent selection of sizes.

La cama llego sellado al vacio, tardo unas horas en estar al 100. Mi Gran Danes se subio y no se quiso levantar! Muy bueno para perros de Raza gigantes mayores.

Not quite the fill in mattress
This is the second order that was delivered. The first order the bed came with the zipper broken off and no instructions. Since there was no way to unzip it the bed never filled out in the bed cover.Second time around I was able to unzip both the covers and timed it to see how long the mattress would sponge out. 6 hours later and it finally reached its max. The picture shows that It still didn’t completely fill out the cover to where it’s nice and snug. Hope this helps any future purchasers because it does not state the process.You can’t just pull it out of the box and it’s nap time for the good boys and girls.
