I’ve been using the Marshall Willen portable speaker for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. First off, the build quality is exceptional. The speaker feels incredibly durable and well-made, with a robust design that gives me confidence in its longevity.The battery life is another standout feature. I can go for hours without needing to recharge, making it perfect for long outings and extended use. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into making sure this speaker can keep up with an active lifestyle.Sound quality is where this speaker truly shines. The audio is rich and clear, with a surprising amount of bass for such a compact device. Whether I’m listening to music, podcasts, everything comes through crystal clear.One of my favorite features is the latch on the back of the device. This allows me to strap it to virtually anything – my backpack, bike, or even a tree branch when I’m out camping. It’s a simple yet highly effective addition that makes this speaker even more versatile and convenient.Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the Marshall Willen. It’s a perfect blend of quality, durability, and outstanding performance. Highly recommended!

Update after Three Year's use__________________________Mostly this has been very reliable having been in daily use most of the time and surviving being dropped more than once.On one occasion it just locked up, would not turn off or respond in any way, but had a flashing red light. After about an hour or so it seemed to recover and since then it has been nearly ok apart from one quirk. Sometimes when it is still 'awake' and waiting for the next bluetooth input, it will emit a quiet sort of click or scratch sound at intervals of a few seconds. That seems to go away when an actual audio signal is received.One major annoyance - the sound it makes on connect/disconnect is too loud and cannot be adjusted in any way. A purely visual signal would be better.Original review below:-------------------------Easily carried from room to room. It's ok by the bedside for quiet listening as well as louder when needed. The gold nameplate and knob finish is a nice touch. Generous bass for such a tiny box - better than any transistor radio of a similar size that I ever heard. Bluetooth connection to phone or tablet is excellent.It's good for spoken voice radio as well as watching films or TV, but really shines with music of various types, from folk through jazz and classical, even bass-heavy rock and pop. There is some sort of stereo effect, but not spectacular. Place it near a wall or in a corner for even fuller bass.It has been mentioned elsewhere that the 3.5mm cable connection is flawed, I found that too - the device rapidly goes into a sleep mode in a couple of seconds, then wakes up just after the next track or sound has begun. Having said that, I've used a 3.5mm lead to listen to a talk on BBC R4 and it was ok. Use bluetooth where possible instead, no problems there.This is a modestly powered speaker, if you want ear-shattering volume, then look for something larger and more powerful.At £144 when purchased, a reasonably-priced way to add a bit of oomph inevitably lacking on most built-in device speakers.Overall, definitely recommended.

Beware This is Marshall's version of shrinkflation
There is a Willen and there is a Willen II to "improve" it. Don't fall for it. I have both and compared them side by side. The Willen II lacks the clarity, presence, depth and bass that the original Willen had. It seems shallow and flat in comparison. There is no advantage to it other than to Marshall who is cashing in on the reputation that the original Willen built. I suspect they put in a cheaper tweeter and are charging the same. The logo on the front is not as smooth and appealing. The original Willens are selling at about 70-80 dollars while they have the nerve to charge $120 for the Willen II. Grab them while they last! I am returning my Willen II and ordered three original Willens at $69 each! If you can't find it on line visit Best Buy or some other store that may have them, but they will charge you the original $120. Even at that price it is a better buy than the Shrinkflation Willen.

Pass through charging!!! Amazing speaker!!!
The marshal speaker is nothing short of 5 stars. As big a sound as a device twice its size and it looks like a mini guitar amp. Pass through charging is the biggest hit, totally possible to charge while listening. And it’s small enough to fit in a laptop bag.
Best compact speaker
I come from the Bose Soundlink Mini and this speaker is a nice successor.Yes I would say this Marshall sound a little bit quieter compared with the Soundlink, but there is a Bass mode equalizer (using the official app). It makes the speaker sound a little bit louder.Having said that, the voice and instrument sound cleaner.Pd: the white has a little cream touch, it’s looks sick.Great speaker
Incredible sound and bass from small device
The sound and bass is amazing, design is awesome and it’s small enough to bring around, whether that be your kitchen or outside, and look cool while being there. Honestly the style is one of the reasons why I purchased it. The classic but simple lettering on the speaker just makes you want to show it off. The connection is seamless and it’s easy to use. No complaints yet.
