5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent keyboard
This is a very high quality, great keyboard.Having tried both the X3 and the W3, I would say that this (the X3 bluetooth version) is slightly better the W3 (the wired-only version) in a couple of ways, but also worse in one way which may matter to you.In terms of ways in which the X3 is better, firstly the W3 has only 3 brightness levels where the X3 has 10. (Although in fairness the 3 levels on the W3 are still well chosen, and the darkest not too bright.) Secondly (and slightly weirdly), on the W3 then £ and # symbols are printed the wrong way round on the 3 key. Since this is basically a US layout keyboard, the # symbol should be printed at the top of the key, not to the side, corresponding to the symbol accessed when pressing shift, as is done on all the other numeric keys on the W3, and indeed as is done on this keyboard, the X3, which has the same layout!) Related to this, I slightly prefer this keyboard, the X3's, key labelling over the W3, as on the X3 they don't include the ALT (€ and £) symbols on the 2 and 3 keys at all; I prefer this as omitting these symbols makes the keyboard look just a little neater and less cluttered. The one major downside to the X3, if you're the kind of person who regularly uses Del/F2/F12 to break into the BIOS menu, is that the X3, *even when used in wired mode* cannot consistently do this, and (not always, but often, half the time or more) causes the BIOS to report that there is no keyboard attached. (The W3, as would be expected of a natively wired-mode keyboard, has not such problems.)To point out one more (minor) imperfection shared by the X3 and the W3, the lighting on these keyboards is just not quite as beautiful as the lighting on a real Mac laptop keyboard - specifically, there are small overly bright spots here and there around the keys, where the light shows through too much, rather then the really uniform lighting around the keys on real Mac laptop keyboards.Nevertheless in build quality, in looks, and even in the above-mentioned quality of the lighting, this and the W3 are _way_ better than any of the (several) other illuminated external keyboards for the Mac which I have tried recently.

4.0 out of 5 stars Satechi Slim X1 Review
I've only had this keyboard a day but so far it's really good. I'm coming directly from the Apple Magic Keyboard (full size), and while this does feel different it's about as close as you're going to get.The keys have a tad more travel, it feels like one of the older MacBooks circa 2010, which isn't a bad thing. The backlight works well too, there's a little bit of bleed around the keys as well as the actual letters lighting up, which I think is by design rather than a technical limitation. It would have been nice to have a UK keyboard layout option, but it's not the end of the world. shift + 3 is the £ sign if anyone is wondering. The build quality is very good, it's up there with the Apple Magic Keyboard. The grey colour of the keyboard doesn't match the space grey of the Apple magic keyboard exactly, it's a slightly lighter shade (see attached photograph). It doesn't bother me as I'm using it together with an Apple Magic Mouse which is black on top, but I could see it being an issue if you were looking to colour match to the Magic Trackpad.Connectivity seems good. It paired with my M1 Mac mini with no issues, and wakes the computer from sleep just fine. The keyboard can be paired with up to 3 wireless devices, and can be used wired as well. I haven't encountered the issue with the keyboard not being recognised at the login screen, or with key presses registering more than once - which was mentioned in a couple of the other reviews. It all works fine for me.The function keys labeled for screen brightness don't seem to work though. I have an Apple Thunderbolt Display connected to my Mac mini, and using the same keys on my previous keyboard adjusts the screen brightness. I don't know if I've not set it up correctly or something, but the rest of the function keys work fine and do as you would expect.Over all I'd give this keyboard 5 stars. While it's not perfect, the price is reasonable and I think the score needs bumping up a bit as it should be more than 3/5. Until Apple decide to make the space grey Magic Keyboard in the smaller size, this is the nearest you're going to get.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good keyboard
Very good colour match in space grey to the Facebook.Easy to set up and use charges via USB C and has a good run time. Comes with 2 stick on rubber feet to improve angle for use.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great small alternative to the official apple keyboard
Really like this keyboard. It's small, feels well made and connected easily enough. It looks great with my Mac studio. It's so much better priced that the official Mac keyboard which is absolutely ridiculously priced. I love how this feels nice quality with the metal casing. You can pair 3 Bluetooth devices with it. Would recommend
5.0 out of 5 stars Good alternative to the Magic Keyboard
This keyboard is great! It has a backlight which the Magic Keyboard is missing. The keys are great and very close to the Magic Keyboard. The battery life is extra ordinary. I have not charged once in 2 months. It is value for money. Very happy with the purchase
1.0 out of 5 stars OK while it lasted, broke after 4 months
It's a nice keyboard to use, keys feel good, looks great but I was hoping it would last longer. under 4 months in and it's dead. won't respond, won't charge, kaput. I left it in my bag overnight and maybe a key was being held down and flattened the battery?? but even after charging it now won't work. Other annoyances -it 'sleeps' after 30 mins which is fine, but it takes too long to wake up when you start typing again so you lose 1/2 a sentence every time.it shows 100% charge in the bluetooth list even if its almost flat.Just pay the extra and get the Apple Magic Keyboard which is what I'm now doing.
Wow Extremely aesthetically pleasing and solid build quality Apple alternative
First impression right of out the box is wow, the thing is sleek and cool to the touch and is superb for typing. The backlight is nice and the keyboard feels solid. Took about a minute or two to adjust to the smaller form factor, but the keyboard is excellent for typing.
EDIT: Update ::Get This Keyboard. Maybe not . . .
Update Sept, 18, 2024 It worked 9 Days then. . . died.It just stopped working. Began acting up, backlights went out, keys not responding, disconnecting- 100% battery charge . . .Tried to revive it, reconnect, lights - nothing. Died. Charge it up, RED Light on Keyboard, On/Off Switch same thing Red light. Zero response. No charge. Goner.Sad to say, it's going back. Hello, Ateck and MX Mini Keys (w/o Logi Software)_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-Should have just gotten this Satechi Slim X1 keyboard for Mac Mini from the get-go.I have the Logi MX Keys Mini for Mac. It has connection issues falls asleep fast, wakes up too slow. ExpensiveOwn the Arteck el cheapo $25 but still really good always connected keyboard. Small size and price. The Satechi is just right in every way. Well lit with 10 light levels, quickly connects and stays connected, easily connects to Mac, iPad, and iPhone, never wakes up my sleeping Mac, and does not need any supporting drivers or software to function correctly. Truely connect and play. The included foot pads angle the keyboard perfectly and comfortably. The Battery Widget on Mac desktop connects and allows battery level viewing just as a Mac Keyboard would. This is the keyboard Apple should have made for Mac. In all, Satechi Slim X1 is a 10/10 with zero downsides and no compromises.Bluetooth, Backlighted, Easy connection 3 devices, perfect size, no numerical keys, no dongle or drivers/software required. It just works. It's a keeper. (In 25 years of Apple products, this is the best non-Apple product ever purchased).Awsome.
Excelente Calidad!
