I put a none slip baking mat on these and use them as trays. They are light weight, different sizes depending whether I am having dinner, or serving tea in the garden. The edges of the tray are low enough to use knife and fork whilst eating, but high enough to do the job.

Love these trays. We used the large one as a hot chocolate bar set up, my daughter took the medium size one for over the toilet tank to hold bathroom supplies, and the small one i place on the ottoman to hold TV remotes. They have such versatile uses.

Looks nice and will serve the purpose. However, it's very soft wood and not real sturdy.
Wonderful trays for a cozy dinner party to serve snacks on.
They are wooden so I wouldn't recommend placing unwrapped food directly on the trays. My guests loved them.
