I’ve looked up all the standards that this had to meet to be sold in the uk and they are stringent. This item should be about as accurate as the ones used in hospital. That’s not flawless of-course, I’m a nurse so I know well some people are very difficult to get a reading on. If you have poor perfusion or low blood pressure or the like you’d be better off getting an ear probe I’d say. If you don’t have those issues this is great: simple to use, small, does the job brilliantly. This things are accurate to within 2 to 4 percent but that’s plenty to see if someone is dangerously low or trending towards that. I’d absolutely recommend this device, it’s incredible value for money. This is for my own personal use by the way, I’m not using this on patients or anything, we have obs machines for that.

I've always found Braun equipment to be well built designed well & works for many year's 👍The unit itself is easy to use, the display can be rotated by a longer push on the start button more push of this button will rotate the display in 4 quadrants, I find the longer display easy to read & indicating heart beating behaviour,The unit comes with two AAA batteries 🔋 the rear cover just slides off, it also comes with a instruction booklet with many different languages,There is a lanyard supplied that's easy to fit if required,Considering it's low cost its an easy affordable addition to your medical box - cupboard

I bought this over a year ago & it's had a great deal of use now, so I can now write a review based on that rather than just first impressions.I purchased this after an illness & had seen recommendations for oximeters. After reading reviews of a few brands & price ranges, I very much felt it was hit or miss on how well the machine functioned for any brand, so took a shot with this.What is the most important factor for anyone buying any oximeter? ACCURACY is always going to be the top answer.I believe we have been lucky, with what would seem to be fairly accurate readings - I'm very much of the mind set that any home use medical equipment is for guidance only & will not match the accuracy of actual medical equipment of our medical centres.Accuracy really can only be tested if you have another machine you know is accurate, or maybe take it to an appointment & ask the consultant to do a reading then try yours. I've not any of them, so I occasionally pop it on when I I'm well & know what my readings should be & check it's not recording anything odd.Mine was put to the test when one time it started a beeping sound I'd not heard before, checked & it was reading a high bpm, the beep was it's alert to something not being right. Two of us checked ourselves, just to be sure it wasn't failing, ours read normal as we expected.Reading the screen is simple, the way it's displays the information can be changed at the touch of a button.Battery life is good - maybe change the batteries that come with it though.It's comfortable on the finger - well as comfortable as one can be.Do looks matter? It just looks pretty much like the others I'd seen. Similar size & weight.I'm pleased with the purchase, I do update my reviews if things change, so if no updates it means the item is still in good working order.

I purchased this device mainly to monitor oxygen levels in my blood because i have a respiratory illness and so far it seems to be consistent and works well. It also has a pulse meter which i have checked for accuracy against my blood pressure monitor and it does what it supposed to. I like the readout, it changes orientation on the screen from vertical to horizontal depending on the position you view it.I was happy with the cost and it seems good value at the moment but i have only had it a week so i cannot comment on battery life or durability yet, i may come back and update this review if things change.

A neat little gadget which reads heart rate and % oxygen. Reassuringly, the heart rate reading tallies with the pulse reading of an Omron blood pressure monitor. No issues so far, seems to be a decent device. You need to let the pulse/heart rate reading stabilise for about 30 seconds - the initial reading will change, then settle down.

It was very difficult to fit the retaining string - the alignment of the in and out holes was not convenient. Needed a needle in the end!The readings are quick to appear and clear to read.The instructions do not include average values that could be used as guidance.
