5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality and impressive design
Bought this pen to start capturing details of my ideas and goals in my daily notebook. I find pen and paper best for this rather than keyboard and laptop because it forces clarity.I used bottle ink. The pen writes very smooth with no smudging. It’s effortless. The weight is well balanced and the design is exceptional. Materials are high quality and it feels very durable. At this price point, I’d recommend it for daily writing. It comes with cartridges which I’ll use as a backup to bottle ink. The box is well designed but I’d also recommend buying a pen case for everyday use.
5.0 out of 5 stars Classy and Elegant
Bought as a promised present for myself following a life-time milestone being achieved. Filled the converter and was perfect in the hand from the very first act of writing; quite small but this seems to add to the elegance and feel of quality. Light and well balanced - I am picky about my pens whether that is a day to day ballpoint or something of this quality of build. This delivers in feel and writing action.I have contacted the firm to avail myself of the extended warranty - this could have been done with a link on a webpage but that is the only criticsm (nothing to do with the product - only the offer). I am now thinking about a ballpoint to go with it from this great maker.Five stars - well deserved.
5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic fountain pen from a great company
I've always preferred using fountain pens to ballpoints, but have never found one reliable enough for daily use until I bought this one from Scriveiner. As well as looking great, it writes beautifully and consistently using a variety of inks (I've tried both cartridges and bottled inks), and it feels very comfortable and well balanced in the hand. It's also very easy to clean and maintain. All of this for a remarkably affordable price too.Communication from Scriveiner was excellent and very helpful, both at time of purchase and in response to questions I've had about maintenance and adding to my collection. It also makes me very happy to be able to buy pens from an independent locally run company. I really couldn't ask for a better fountain pen for daily use.
5.0 out of 5 stars An Underrated Gem!
I have used a lot of fountain pens over the years. I was curious about this particular pen. What drew me to this pen above others was the looks and hardware. The body of the pen is quite slim but with a fantastic balanced weight. The gold accents make this pen appear very luxurious and substantial. The cap snaps on with pleasing ease and it posts well too, adding to the balance and providing a pleasant length, although this isn't necessary. After a thorough clean with water of all the components (which are easily removed and re-assembled), it was time to ink up.Using Jacques Herbin's black ink, the converter worked the first time and filled up beautifully. The writing experience blew me away with how smooth it is on regular jotter pad paper. Schmidt provides the nib hardware and the partnership with this pen works extremely well. You honestly think you are using a super high-end fountain pen.Having used an equally fabulous Scriveiner rollerball pen, this brand should never be overlooked. Fantastic quality has fantastic price, and a lovely box, extra ink cartridges, and an extended warranty. My advice is to pick the colour you like the most and just buy it. You will not be disappointed.Bravo Scriveiner!
5.0 out of 5 stars beautiful pen, even better customer service
Bought this on Prime Day and was disappointed to find that it arrived with a flaw in the enamelling on the grip section. Rather than return it va Bolo for a refund, I contacted Scriveiner's customer service direct to ask if they could send me a replacement grip section. They were not able to do this (presumably becuse their manufacturing is in China) but within 24 hours a whole replacement pen was on its way, and 48 hours after that, it arrived, in perfect condition. This is a beautiful pen and is a true pleasure to write with. Schmidt nibs are always reliable; this one is smooth, ink flow is excellent. Very impressed.
4.0 out of 5 stars Stylish and cute
As a lover of fountain pens I was tempted to buy this EDS fountain pen, my normal and fav pens being a sheaffer Targa a pen i have used for most of my life, finding a modern replacement for this classic has been hard however wanting to have a pen that i could carry in a pocket brought the EDC style with a screw cap to my attention. After much reading and searching I was drawn to this pen for the simple but elegant style and the matt red finish.I was impressed with the presentation box, the simple but functional looks were classic. The pen is a good weight, feels smooth, the clip has a good spring to it, the threads are not sharp and it only takes 2 turns to remove the cap and then 2 to post it with the clip lined up well with the nib. I used the included ink to test the pen and was very happy to see the ink flow with little effort, after a page of writing the nib bedded in well to my hand with smooth flow and ease of direction change. For me i need to have the cap posted to feel comfortable in my hand when writing ( I do have a big hand ). I think if your after a good quality affordable pen to carry in a pocket or a bag then this is a good one, the ink flows every time i write, the pen looks good and always attracts comments. I will certainly be getting my wife one too.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very stylish and comfortable to use
I'm always in a quest for a super ultra fine nib, and whilst I still need to find my perfect ideal pen (without paying an absolute fortune) the Scriveiner comes very close. The design is very stylish - looks very expensive whilst, in fact being very reasonably priced. The writing is very smooth - it glides smoothly on the page without any scratching or blotching. Highly recommended. My only wish would be to have the red colour option in extra fine nib. I opted for the black one instead. A beautiful pen!
Excellent product and customer service
Scriveiner fountain pens write well, are comfortable to hold, easy to fill, and have vibrant colors. I've purchased several. After several months, the inner liner detached from the outer cap with one of the pens. I emailed them with my receipt and photos and heard back within about 36 hours that they would replace it free of charge-- and shipped it immediately. Dan, the customer service rep, was courteous, prompt, and apologized for the inconvenience. Excellent product and service!
Hermosa!!
Tiene muy buena punta, hace que la escritura sea fácil y es muy ligera.
Great pen. Even better customer service!
This is my fourth EDC from Scriveiner and they all write smooth and true to nib size. They run a bit on the wet side, which I prefer. These pens feel great posted or unposted and they are very solid, yet lightweight and nimble. When posted, they respond like full sized pens and are very well balanced. There is plenty of length to use them unposted as well. The cap screws off in 1.5 turns. The best part about these pens is the customer service behind the brand. I have 14 Scriveiner's and I've had problems with three of them. The problems were only cosmetic issues and didn't affect the running of the pens, yet the customer service department didn't hesitate to send me new replacement pens immediately on all three occasions. I didn't have to bother returning the originals either. They responded quickly and I felt they truly cared about my concerns. The pens are wonderful writers and underpriced for the level of quality they offer, but it's the people standing behind them that really create the value of this brand. If you're looking for a solid metal fountain, rollerball, or ballpoint pen, I'm not sure you can do better than Scriveiner for the money. I have several higher end pens that are now gathering dust while I use the Scriveiner's every day. They just feel right. I also know that if I have even the smallest concern with my pens, they will go out of their way to make it right. You don't find that level of customer service very often these days.
Beautiful pen. Writes like it's rolling on a ball. Excellent ink distribution.
$74.74 is what I paid with taxes (we have high taxes here). Tested two inks through it so far and it works very smooth. It came with a converter which many cheaper pens do NOT. Since I use bottled ink, this was essential. For instance, I purchased a Lamy, and forgot they came without a converter so I paid 37+18 for that PLUS tax, adding up to $63.25. Lamy are fantastic, but this pen is far superior for the price both aesthetically and in the smoothness of writing. I tried to find something as aesthetically pleasing and cheaper with a converter, and couldn't... correction... you can... but they don't write well. I've bought things like Dryden's and they simply don't write well. They cut out a lot. So yes, I guess you can get them cheaper with good looks and a converter, but you won't be impressed by their performance. They will lead you to endless headaches. So far very happy. Not cheap. But you get what you pay for. I will of course update my review if I have problems with this pen in the future.
a pen that's worth the price
just to write with and don't have to throw out when it runs out of ink. just refill it..
