5.0 out of 5 stars Sheer Luxury at an Affordable Price Point
In truth, I haven't used pen and ink since being forced too when at school. (Yes I'm that old!). The desks having a hole in them so as the ink well could sit in there and you dipped the nib of the woooden stemmed pen into the ink and practice joined up writing. Invariably it would scratch the paper and often tear into it. Not a happy childhood memory. However, a few years ago I was asked to sign an important document and the person produced a fountain pen and the sheer joy of signing my name with this pen was tangible. In recent years I have been asked to sign a number of documents and whenever I do I recall being offered that fountain pen, and I knew it was time to lay the ghosts of childhood to rest and purchase a fountain pen of my own.So I researched which pen would best suit me and, based upon the postive reviews, the Scriviener fountain pen seemed to stand out.Having purchased this pen, I have not been disappointed. It is beautiful to look at and the weight of it is perfect. The ink flow to the nib is consistent and the fluidity of the nib on the paper makes for a smooth and easy writing action. Simply signing my name seems to add a creative flourish to ordinary writing tasks. The quality, elegance and design of the pen belies its price point. It is sheer luxury at an affordable price. It is so perefct that it encourages me to write more as opposed to typing everything on a keyboard or on a mobile phone screen. The pen adds a touch of elegance and is wonderfully beautiful. An extremely happy customer.
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
Absolutely lovely pen. I haven’t used a fountain pen in years and wondered if using one would help my handwriting. I have arthritis and this pen had good balance and was very smooth on the paper. It did help my writing look neater.
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and elegant 'work horse' ;-)
I love this pen: it's one of my favourites among a collection of various nib sizes, pen weights and designs. The broad nib manages the speed of flow extremely well when I am writing notes, the pen is light to hold but not flimsy, the international cartridges fit one in the grip and another in the barrel. I called it a 'work horse' because it never runs dry when I'm writing notes at speed and the silver/gold combination gives it that luxury appearance. Cannot fault its performance and value for money. Highly recommended and would purchase again for myself and for friends.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent pen
I searched for a long time to find a fountain pen that would be comfortable for me to write with. I tried many brands, both cheap and expensive. Each time, I had to go back to ballpoint pens, which I must admit I don't really like. Six months ago, I bought a Scriveiner pen. From the very first day I started using it, I have been convinced that buying it was the right decision. I write quite a lot, and it's very important for me to write comfortably. I've been using this pen exclusively for six months now and don't plan on changing it. I'm completely satisfied with my choice. It's an excellent pen.And I want to say a few words about the company. They have simply amazing customer support. It was a pleasant surprise for me. I really like this brand.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Brilliant pen - heavy and solid, the nib glides across the page like a swan on the water at dawn. I've used dozens of pens in my life - Cross, Waterman, Parker (even Mont Blanc, which I found to be the most overrated thing since Taylor Swift) - this one wins by a mile.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good pen, be mindful of nib choice
The pen had some difficulty arriving as the address was not printed legibaly on the package so the postman really had his work cut out for him. The pen is very aesthetically pleasing and certainly merits lots of praise. If I was to choose a nib again I would select fine as the ink is running down too quickly with the medium size. I believe the medium nib is slightly too wide for the general everyday writer, a fine nib would be a better choice. Overall it is a heavy, stylish pen with good build quality.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best fountain pen at this price-quality intersection
I like my fountain pens. I have pens more expensive than this at the £100+ price point. But I can't say they're any better. This one seems precision tooled. I particular like the fact that the ink converter is a good size and screws into its slot (as opposed to being simply pushed in like at least oneof my more expensive pens). This makes ink filling less messy. It writes well and feels good in the hand. It's become my go-to pen. Minor quibble - could probably improve the nib slightly - but then I guess it wouldn't be at this price point.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fine nib was not for me but medium is superb.
I have several of these pens. The best is the pocket version of this with medium nib. It is heaven to write with. I thought I would buy another but full size and fine nib. However, it felt too different for my likings. I wasn’t happy with it. After a discussion with the manufacturer and supplier, though, it was quickly replaced. So whilst I did have some initial issues, I was so impressed with the level of customer support I received. It is really great to see that there are businesses out there who care so much about their customers. Replacement is fab. Lovely looking in gold.
Gorgeous pen
This pen has a gorgeous build. I love the copper colour and brass body. Brass gives it a nice weight. I admire the fact that it’s small, so perfect for everyday carry, but still has good weight and feels solid in your hand. I also adore the cap design as it’s very unique. The cap opens very smoothly by rotating. It came in a beautiful box. Included were the pen itself, two cartridges: one blue and one black, a beautiful black cloth with a gold Scriveiner logo on it to be used while inking. It’s a medium nib and writes like it. I very much like the overall value they are providing at this price.

Updated 1 Star Review to 5 Stars for Great Customer Service!
Update: Scriveiner's Customer Service Team Saved the Day!The Customer Support Team reached out to me immediately and I got the assistance I needed. I received a good quality Stainless Steel M nib Fountain Pen that was mailed to me at no additional cost. I even got a full refund for all of the pens I returned along with the new replacement pen. I would buy again from this company solely based on how Scriveiner addressed my concerns as a valued customer.Original 1 Star Post: I Purchased 4 Different Fountain Pens - 1 Perfect & 3 DamagedScriveiner’s quality assurance process has let me down - I made 3 different purchases for 4 different fountain pens. If I had given any one of these fountain pens to my friend as a gift, I would have been extremely embarrassed.1st Purchase Attempt - Bought 2 Fountain Pens & Returned 1:Silver & Gold F Nib - I bought this for myself, the pen and the ink cartridges were perfect. It writes well and the ink flow is great. In terms of fit, the top lid of the packaging was loose.*Gold M Nib - I had also bought this as a gift for a dear friend of mine. However, I had to return this same pen because the gold coating on the pen cap was visibly damaged. I’m also not sure if the coating on this pen would have held up years from now.2nd Purchase Attempt - Returned:*Blue Lacquered M Nib - In my 2nd attempt, the blue coating on the pen had tiny air bubbles underneath it and an ink cartridge was empty due to leaking. The pen itself was not tightly assembled and the inner packaging had ink stains on it. The outer packaging itself was scuffed and I was unsure if the coating on this pen would have lasted.3rd Purchase Attempt - Returned:* Stainless Steel Chrome M Nib - This is my 3rd attempt at purchasing a different fountain pen as a gift. I had chosen this pen to avoid future pen coating issues, but the top part of the pen cap was peeling and so I returned it.
Great pen
Great pen, writes well, good ink control, good weight, groves in grip feel great, clip is sturdy and has lots of pressure. Ink converter screws in so it won’t fall out and is built sturdily. The cap clicks on tight and is very satisfying to use. Finish looks amazing and is very smooth so it won’t scratch like an enamel finish will since it’s stainless steel. Have had a few problems with ink flow but just slightly compressed the piston and began to write smoothly again. To give an idea I have had this pen for three weeks and have already written a lot with it (refilled it twice) and have only had to do this once on my second or third day using it to fix the flow.
Me encantó!!
La compre para regalo, por lo que no puedo decir de su funcionalidad, pero el producto llego rápido, muy bonita, impecable en su caja muy cuidada. Un producto hermoso!!
