Much brighter than my old first generation TIP, highly impressive. Sadly, that's where the positives end. THERE IS NO LOCKOUT. So I assume this thing will switch itself a fair bit when it's in my pocket. Utterly bizarre. It happened very occasionally with my old TIP, even with its lockout, meaning strange looks from friends at the glow coming from my trouser pocket, a hot leg, or a flat battery when I next came to use it. You can put this TIP 700's plastic clip on the "wrong" way around to cover the buttons, but then every time you want to use the touch you'll have to fiddle around sliding that clip off, and I doubt the thin plastic clip will last more than a few weeks/months. The other option is to keep the thing in "demo" mode, where any accidental activations will see the torch auto off after 30 seconds - but 30 seconds of turbo will eat battery and look pretty strange glowing through your pocket when you're out in public. It only arrived here about 15 minutes ago, so these are initial impressions. I'll carry it for a few days, because the brightness is fantastic, and then decide if it's fit for purpose. At this stage, just utterly mystified as to whether the manufacturer ever tried using this before they launched it to market.

Nearly perfect... best TIP model yet IMHO
While not waterproof, the support for not just USB-C charging, but USB-C PD is awesome, and is the reason I chose this over the TIP2. You need to see it in person to understand just how small it is. The case is metal, but is in two parts that act like a shell around a plastic body. The two metal pieces don't quite meet, but there is a seam line that they touch... some people may not like this design, so take a good look at closeups to be sure you like the design.
