I know that other reviewers have had issues with their 'refurbished' floodlight cameras, so just wanted to share our experience.We have had the original floodlight camera for a number of years now, and together with a couple of 'Ring stick-up' cameras, they are all integrated into our Ring Alarm system.We recently had an issue in the lane at the bottom of our garden, and whilst our floodlight camera picked up all the 'action', it was very difficult to make out any real detail, hence the police letting them of with a simple warning.Based on this incident, we decided that we needed another camera, to cover the bottom of our garden, the lane, and more importantly, our cars.We were very excited to see these 'certified refurbished' floodlight cameras on sale at almost half the price of a new one, but also wary of other peoples experiences with them.The floodlight camera arrived in a plain box, as opposed to the normal Ring packaging, but once opened, everything inside was like new, complete with everything that you get the normal priced one.The camera itself had a protective cover over the lens, and everything else didn't look used at all, even the foam seal on the mounting plate showed no signs of previous owners or attempt to mount it.Based on other reviewers testimonials, we decided to wire the camera up, inside the house, before going through the hassle of drilling holes and mounting it, but to be honest, we needn't have worried. The camera set-up was as expected, no previous owners information to deal with, just the normal scan the QR code, enter the wifi password, and the camera was added to our existing account.I get the feeling that buying refurbished is a bit 'hit and miss', but based on our experience, we wouldn't hesitate to buy it again, and happy that we now have complete coverage of our whole property.

First off, this wasn't like some open box return. It was basically a brand new light at half the price. I was really impressed with the quality of the light and how easy it was to install. It's really well designed and you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the design as it even comes with rubber grommets to seal the screw holes on the back and a multi-purpose screwdriver that you use the handle of to tighten the nuts on the front - very clever. The pairing process was seamless and it just worked. Really happy.

As others have said it came in a plain brown box with Ring branding. It was as brand new - if it has indeed been returned they must not have tried to put it up or even take it out of its packaging. It’s all up and working perfectly and cost £100 less than the brand new version!
1.0 out of 5 stars Did not work. I will not be buying any more "Certified Refurbished" Ring devices
I had already purchased two of these devices brand new, during a special promotion at a different retailer at the end of 2023 at a price of £99.99, and the setup process worked flawlessly. I needed one more device, but there weren't any promotions, and I didn't want to pay the full price of £179.99. So I ordered one of these "certified refurbished" devices. Big mistake. I will not be buying any more Bolo "certified refurbished" Ring devices in the future. My product arrived in a plain brown box, which was absolutely fine. I had ordered the white version. I noticed that the fittings which screw the device onto the backplate were the black ones, even though the product was white, so this was the first issue, although not major. I had some spare white ones from the two which I had purchased brand new previously. I was able to do the physical installation without any problem. But when I came to try and set it up, it just wouldn't work. I kept getting an error message saying "Unable to join the network Ring Setup e1". I tried it multiple times, using two separate devices. I tried resetting the Ring device. I tried rebooting my iPhone. Still no luck. In the end, I had no choice but to send it back. I spoke to Bolo, and they offered to send a replacement refurbished device......... in 7 weeks' time! I had already read some reviews of these "Certified Refurbished" Ring cameras, where some people seem to have received brand new, unopened devices ; and others have received devices which have been already used to varying degrees, some of which were still linked to the account of the original purchaser. So it seems to be complete luck of the draw. If you're willing to take a chance, maybe you'll get a great price on a device which is still in its original sealed packaging. Or maybe you get a complete dud, like I did. This is the last time I will buy any such "Certified Refurbished" Ring device.
4.0 out of 5 stars READ if having trouble connecting to Ring account
Don’t use the QR code on the Quick Start booklet to setup a refurbished floodlight camera like I did initially. Use the QR code on the camera itself. Tough lesson after returning 2 other cameras because of failed pairing. I suspect this is the same root cause for all other similar reviews. The Quick Guide needs rewriting to make this clearer. Knocked of a star because of this. Otherwise a typically good quality product from Ring.

One of The best value for money product I've purchased in along time. Easy to install, if you know what you're doing. I would 100% recommend this Certified Refurbished Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus, if still in stock. It was 99% brand new and I'm a very happy buyer.

Excellent build quality, multiple function includes lights, camera, Microphone, loudspeaker, siren.Very easy to install and configure. I have a Ring alarm system and this integrated into the system easily.Quality product.

Came in branded box and sealed with ring label. Not a mark on it. If I received it as a gift I wouldn’t ever know it’s not brand new! Set up was seamless! Read lots of reviews before going for this but a really positive one helped me take the chance to save a few pennies! So glad I did and hope this review does the same for someone else!
