About this item:

Financial Illiteracy Is Costing You More Than $35,000. Here’s How to Change That:

Did you know that the average millennial in the US is $36,000 in debt?

Sound familiar?

You’ve just gotten out of college and you’re overwhelmed by student loan payments. Not only that, an entry-level job is keeping you from earning the money that would support the lifestyle you desire.

So, what can you do about it?

Is there any way to gain financial stability as early as in your 20s or 30s?

Of course there is! And the answer happens to be a whole lot simpler than what you may imagine when thinking of saving and investing.

For a start, you need to get out of debt asap.

The longer you remain a part of the vicious cycle, the more difficult it is to get out of the debt swamp.

You can be debt-free in your late 20s. To accomplish this goal, however, you’ll need to do some financial growing up.

Once you manage to kill the debt beast, you can move on to pursue all your life goals – saving enough to retire early, starting a family, buying a house, or starting your own business.

Financial literacy consists of several simple, yet essential, concepts you’ll need to master. In other words, you’ll need to learn smart instead of hard when it comes to personal asset management.

In Financial Literacy: How to Gain Financial Intelligence, Financial Peace and Financial Independence, you will discover:

  • The 4 cardinal sins of youthful spending that will keep you in debt (forever)
  • An 8-step, iron-clad methodology for getting out of debt in your 20s and 30s
  • Smart ways to save money without having to give up your preferred lifestyle
  • How to have fun and enjoy adventures for free, or with minimal spending
  • 12+ brilliant ideas to earn more money (some have even been employed by top entrepreneurs for years)
  • Reasons why no future dream is too big to pursue if you plan properly
  • The basics of saving and investing like a boss while still a young adult
  • The essence of financial responsibility in a marriage or a committed relationship
  • Psychology of abundance: the mindset that sets millionaires apart from everybody else

And much more!

You don’t have to wait until you’re 40 to become financially independent. In fact, if you wait this long, it may be too late to introduce meaningful change in your life.

Even if you earn a small income right now, you can take the baby steps that will add up and contribute to more security, more freedom, and a higher level of financial responsibility. It doesn’t matter if you can save $5 or $1,000 per month. After all, a small trickle can quickly turn into a deluge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read

Beautifully designed, well written and organized, this book offers a wealth of information in a broad range of financial topics for anyone getting started in finance. A worthwhile read

2.0 out of 5 stars The content is good, but the physical paperback book is awfully made!

D.H. · 17 April 2022

For basic financial literacy for your home and family, this book goes into just the right amount of detail to someone who has never balanced an account but is aware that money isn't just for you, it's also for your future grandkids. However, the paperback copy I received has near 50% of the pages simply falling out of the book! The pages are not attached to the spine, and it's infuriating to keep the pages in place. It's a shame that the publisher has skimped on glue, would have been an enjoyable and educational read if I wasn't constantly stressed about losing pages.

Nice book

Quite a nice book that covers the same topics as other books on the subject.

Perfect beginning money book for people of ANY age

T.H. · 28 August 2020

This is a great book for people who want to understand the nuts and bolts of personal finance. The author calls it on the front of the book "A Guide to Personal Finance in Your Twenties and Thirties" and I think that's spot-on.The example he uses as a springboard for the journey is Bob, a guy who just graduated college burdened with almost $27,000 in student loan debt. (Compared to many, many graduates, Bob is doing pretty well with such a low debt load!) How does someone like Bob effectively navigate their financial life and easily integrate all the necessary elements of personal finance into their life as they mature and mature through the workforce? The author is patient, supportive and has broken up all the concepts into bite-size, digestible sections so as to not overwhelm the reader. All in all, a great resource for people wanting to learn more about personal finance!

Very informative

Shaun has a lot of good information in this book. Lots of good ideas. I am glad to know I am on the right track. I told myself. If I have one penny more tomorrow than what I had today it is progress.I recommend this book.

A wealth of information

G.V. · 26 August 2020

I wish this info had been available as a class back when I was in high school, might have saved me a lot of fiscal misery! This book is full of financial wisdom and sage advice—from managing debt to setting a budget, the stock market, and all points in between. The author speaks on a more nuts-and-bolts approach to financial freedom than a get rich quick scheme, and as such, is so much more powerful for it. The book is more than just dreamy advice and details plenty of actual strategies to help one achieve their financial goals. Well-written and on-point formatting. High praise for this one, an easy five-stars.

Excellent primer on personal finance, well written and easy to understand

I.J. · 3 September 2020

I have always enjoyed reading personal finance books. This is a great entry level book for anyone wanting to get started on taking control of their finances and building wealth for the future. The book lays out the traps that many Americans fall into, credit cards, debt, lack of passive income, etc. but it also provides numerous ideas on how to end this cycle if you are in it. Or... how to never get into it in the first place. Well worth the read!
