5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sound & Intuitive Operation from Marshall!
As a 20 years plus user of Marshall amps as a guitarist, I was admittedly a little sceptical that these on ear headphones wouldn’t cut it. What do I know though? The professionals in all-things-sound have pulled a master stroke with the Major series. Haven’t used the earlier models so I can’t speak for them but the depth and breadth of the soundstage from these mid-range cans are phenomenal at this price. The app is a bonus too and I’ve set the ‘M’ button for EQ swaps, (Spotify? a very odd and anti-audiophile collab here if I’m honest, Marshall) great for a boost when listening to older stuff that wasn’t mastered at the volumes and clarity commonplace nowadays. Thumping bass which punches your eardrums even at lower db and with proper signalling, no distortion either. Gorgeous, crisp trebles too and clear mids. These Major Vs are my absolute new favourite thing. Mainly use with IOS & Jet or Foobar, depending on levels of replay gain required but these Major Vs really do come through with fabulous sound, lovely fit, and of course, their retro design. Wireless charging, brilliant, 100hrs play apparently, what’s not to love? Oh, cable connected to the Mrs’ Bose headphones with no issue… not that that’s going to happen often! Great purchase, and very, very happy with these headphones! Music is so important… listen.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome
Bought these Marshalls to replace my ageing cans. First impressions were good, they look the part with their retro Marshall styling which I think makes them stand out from the rest. I'm finding them super comfy with nice soft ear pads and can wear them for hours without discomfort although I sometimes have to move my glasses for maximum comfort. Being on ear instead of over ear, there is some sound leakage and they don't have noise cancelling, although they block out a lot more background noise than my old phones. My only gripe was the top end sounded a bit raspy, which sounded strange as the bass was spot on and the mid range was loud and punchy. However, I downloaded the Marshall app and updated the firmware which not only fixed the top end but also made them even louder! TLDR UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE!Awesome cans with quality sound and great volume, customisable equaliser and wireless charging, not to mention the incredible battery life. I love them!
5.0 out of 5 stars Can't fault them
I have given it a couple of weeks before reviewing, there's some belief that headphones need a 'burn in' period. So, to be fair, I have given them a little time to do that. To be fair, it does seem to work, so probably don't judge headphones as soon as you get them out of the box.Indeed they have improved already. They were a little harsh at first, and seemed slight off balance between left and right ears. A couple of weeks later, and they sound superb, and perfectly balanced. There is some anecdotal evidence that suggests some of this could also be down to the individual and getting their brain to adjust to the sound of the new phones - perhaps, maybe a bit of both involved.I have an eclectic collection of headphones here - wired ones are Grado SR60, AKG K92, Koss PortaPro, and a Bluetooth Tribit XFree. They have different purposes, but I wanted some decent sounding cans with Bluetooth, so I don't need to swap around, and fuss about trying to convert wireless to wired. The Marshalls ended up being my choice, as I prefer the comfort, and spatial sound of on-ear pads. I didn't particularly need ANC or any weird fancy features, just reliable connection, and good sound. These are Bluetooth 5.0, and only come with a basic codec installed. However, I've connected them to my iPad Pro, iPhone 12, and Apple TV, and all work perfectly fine. Switching is a little fiddly, as I have to do it manually to disconnect one device, then connect another, but I don't do it often, so that's not a deal breaker. If you really want to, there's a 3.5mm jack lead included, so you can (apparently) connect to another set of headphones to share the audio, or connect to a headphone amp for old fashioned wired connection. I connected it to my little valve amp (one of the readily available models out there), and it sounds fine, if a little under powered compared to the Bluetooth feed. They appear to be very well made, and they are comfortable. I did have to find the sweet spot around my glasses frames though. The pads are also easily removable, so I guess replaceable if they wear out, or for cleaning perhaps.Overall sound is excellent, now they're reduced because of the version 5 coming out, they are a complete bargain. Whether you want to spend the extra there, that's up to you (reviews I find indicate the benefits may be minimal). However, they compare well to the Grados, and way better than the AKG or Tribit. The Koss PoratPros are bit of a legendary thing, but not as 'full' a sound as the Marshall.Of course something like headphones are difficult to judge until you've tried them, and it's not easy to do that before buying any. If you want sub£100 on-ear headphones, and don't need noise cancelling and such like, then these are a decent choice.
Just ok
The sound quality is good. The problem I have with these is that they do not sit in my ears very well, they are made from hard smooth plastic.I bought them to use while I cycle but ya, not going to work for that, just going to loose them.
Outstanding Quality & Battery Life - Perfect for Music Lovers
I've been using the Marshall Major IV On-Ear Bluetooth Headphones for the past 8-9 months, and they’re exceptional in every aspect. The sound quality is outstanding, with deep bass, well-defined mids, and crisp highs, delivering that signature Marshall sound that makes every genre enjoyable. The battery life is beyond impressive; with over 80 hours of playtime, I only charge them about once a week, and the wireless charging feature adds major convenience. The headphones are comfortable enough for long sessions, built to last, and have a sleek, retro design that gets noticed. Bluetooth connectivity is flawless, allowing me to move freely without any drop in connection. Overall, these headphones are worth every penny for anyone seeking premium sound, iconic style, and a battery that just keeps going
Afortunadamente llegaron!!
Great sound and comfortable
These are great. Definitely download the app so you can customize the equalization. Default sound is tinny for my taste, but can balance it well with the app so it sounds great for earbuds. Comfortable, easy to use, and the battery life and sound are great. Really love these headphones.
Fantastic On Ear Bluetooth Headphones!
These just released Marshall Major V Headphones are fantastic! I am a classic and progressive rock fan, and each song sounds great with these excellent headphones. The headphones were very easy to pair via Bluetooth with my Android Pixel 8 Pro smart phone. Plus the comprehensive Marshall mobile app allows customization of various features such as Equalizer, Battery Charging and M-Button functions. These on ear headphones are very comfortable to wear due to very soft ear pads, and have a wide range of adjustment to perfectly fit your head size and shape. Marshall includes a usb-c charging cable, and a coiled 3.5mm aux cord if you want to use these headphones without Bluetooth. In addition the classic Marshall styling reminds me of Marshall amplifiers used by many rock bands over decades. Due to the insane 100 hours battery life, I look forward to many hours of listening to my favorite music with my new Marshall Major V Headphones!
