As a 77-year-old woman, I surprised myself in managing quite easily to put this arch together and erect it in the garden on my own. All the pieces were present in the package and I had no problems screwing it all together. I constructed the left and right sides of the arch separately on a table in the house and then carried the two pieces outside where I joined them on the lawn.Bear in mind that, when you connect the left and right sides at the apex of the arch, you need to have 2 male ends on one side and two female ends on the other, otherwise they will not slot together. To ensure this happens, I suggest you start constructing the arch at the bottom of one side with the two pieces packaged separately and marked “e” which both have male ends. That will ensure you end up with 2 two male ends on that side, at the apex. To ensure you have two female ends at the apex on the other side of the arch, work from the top downwards, when constructing that side.I prepared holes in the ground by driving a 20mm aluminium pipe into the ground to a depth of approx. 400mm and I tested slotting the two sides of the arch into the holes separately before I finally joined them together. That helped me to visualise the placement and level up each side. This was important as my land slopes a bit, so one side needed deeper holes than the other. I used a spirit level. Although the instructions say you need two people, I found it was dead easy to lift the lightweight, joined structure on my own and slide the legs into the prepared holes. The arch is surprisingly steady although I have ordered thick bamboo canes to ram in beside all four legs, as my 20mm holes are bigger than the diameter of the arch tubing. It is not a very strong arch but my garden is sheltered by high hedges and I don’t get high winds. Also, you wouldn’t want to grow anything heavy on this arch. I’m just using it to support some stray branches of a rambling rose and to grow a few sweet peas. I am expecting that the arch will rust quite rapidly but, at this low price you could, if necessary, afford to replace it every year! I imagine that even expensive metal arches rust too.
4.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good
Brought 2 of these to grow butternut squash vine against. They are holding up really well considering the weight of the vines.Easy to put together - had the help of a second person but could have managed on my own.Not the most strong, but for the price I think they are good value.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and strong
It gets pretty windy where I live at the top of a hill and not much survives but this has proven to be stronger than it looks, it comes in kit form but isn't hard to put together , everything was labelled in bags and you couldn't really get it wrong, its holding a pretty heavy climber for me and making a beautiful archway over my gate, its made my garden so nice and private. Its encouraged small birds to come to the garden too more than ever, I am able to hang things on it to feed them.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not strong
Cheap so won’t last but looks fab for this summer, if you want something to last overtime this isn’t the product for you but for indoor use or for a few years fine but not strong enough for using with heavy plants.
5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, great price
Was easier to put together with two people but could see how one person could manage it. All parts supplied and straightforward instructions. We angled it in garden for asthetic reasons. Putting it up against gable end of building knew before I ordered there was no way we could just push into ground as was very little dirt so have used augur to create hole and Post Crete to set in place If you were pushing into a lawn or lovely soil then it would be so easy so just bear in mind what type of ground you are pushing it into as will not just push into difficult ground. Fingers crossed it stays up through high winds/bad weather but at this price not concerned and as lightweight etc it won't do much harm if any if it falls over and anyway not the products fault if it comes down that's down to how it's been put in.
4.0 out of 5 stars Simple to erect
Excellent value and look great, put together easily and very tall. Not too he most stable but works for my garden, will be great when I’ve trained some plants over them. I bought 2
5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and cheerful
It arrived quicker than estimated but sadly one part was damaged. Customer service were great, very rapid response and offered to send out a new part. Sadly, the wrong part was sent but again, rapid reply and another part sent. This arch is easy to put together and a decent size. It does feel fairly flimsy but it's what I'd expect for the money. Hopefully it will last a year or so, time will tell.

I bought this to frame a pathway between two flowerbeds in my new garden and to grow Sweetpeas, a couple of Jasmines & a winter flowering Clematis up it. I built it by myself, which took me about an hour. It lasted all of 4 months before it fell apart! The metal is really soft, so even when I was putting it together with the screws and bolts, they were squashing the metal out of shape without much pressure, which should have been a red flag from the start. The poles quickly sheared off at the bottom where they had rusted through and the only thing holding the whole thing together was the plants and the string I'd tied them on with. The slightest breeze was causing the arch to collapse, as shown in my photos. When I took it down to replace it with a more expensive and sturdier one, multiple poles just fell off.Even if you're still tempted to buy this, bare in mind that if you intend to grow climbing plants up it, espescially starting off young plants, you will need to use a lot of string or plant ties to attach them because there's huge gaps between the supports. I had to use bamboo sticks to support my young Sweetpeas until they reached the first horizontal bar where I could then tie them on.Overall, it's a cheap item that it's fit for purpose and won't last long.
