    I tried these Iron Tablets because they seemed like a bargain and were smaller than most. They use ferrous fumarate, which is a decent form of iron. Plus, they didn't have a long list of nasty ingredients like some other brands and the packaging caught my eye – a small, sensible bag instead of those oversized bottles or air-puffed bags that we usually see. But, they're not without their issues.First, they're marketed as 'high dose', which is a bit of a stretch. Each pill packs 14mg of iron, and for women, that's not quite enough to meet the daily recommended intake (18-45mg).The ingredients list is cleaner than many others, though they do include Magnesium stearate. Sure, it's a common additive in the supplement world, mainly used to speed up production and reduce costs as it prevents other ingredients from sticking to the mechanical equipment. But here's the kicker – it doesn't offer any nutritional benefits in fact, it's a formaldehyde-forming agent and it inhibits the immune response in cells. While it's found in a lot of supplements, its potential impact is something to be aware of.All in all, for the price, they're fair value, especially if you're not overly concerned about hitting high iron doses or the extra additive. Just something to chew on before you decide.
