5.0 out of 5 stars By far the best in this category

I have tried the major brands (Yamaha, Casio and Roland in particular) in this category and prefer by far the Korg. The action on the Yamaha is very stiff and feels unnatural if you're accustomed, as I am, to a 'real' piano. The Roland sound is too bright and light. And I wasn't overly impressed by Casio generally. The great strengths of the Korg, in my view, are:1. Very natural feel on the keys, by far the most natural I have found. Extremely responsive to nuances as well. If, like me, you have a light touch you will like these.2. Beautiful sound, especially on the default setting (grand piano). Yamaha makes a lot of their concert piano sound but I actually prefer the Korg. It is very rounded and yet both bass and treble have great clarity. The overall effect is very melodious and yet each note stands out by itself. The amp is more than powerful enough to fill a 45m2 room.3. Incredibly compact format: it sits against the wall and disappears. It is by far the most compact I have seen and it really takes very little space. Once closed it looks like a side board.4. A detail, but important if you have children: the lid has a soft close action so fingers can't get trapped by a slammed top.5. I don't like listening to the variety of other instrumental sounds that can be produced by the keyboard (I like my piano to sound like... a piano!). But my husband and my daughter love playing around and here the Korg really shines. The Harpsichord and the Organ in particular are excellent, and there are weird things like human voices (very creepy if you ask me).Delivery was very prompt (2 days from the day of order) and everything was in good order. For a sound of this quality, you'd need to spend about 3-4 times the same amount on a straight piano, and you'd have trouble finding one even so. We're really happy with it.

It is compact and powerful, save a lot of space, and the sound is just great. I enjoy it very much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Feel and sound closest to a real piano

I took my pianist friend to the music showroom and tried a few latest models, including this one, and Yamaha YDP142, 162, Casio Privia 850, Roland RP301 R, and both of us felt KORG LP 380 is the closest to a real piano. My friend grew up playing acoustic grand piano, and quote her comment 'this one is way beyond the market'. It might also be just personal preference too but just want to share my 'market test'. I've also just purchased the black one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unreliable and manufacturer unhelpful

    C. · 14 December 2019

I loved my Korg until it started to go wrong. The first thing that happened was one key started to click very obviously and distractingly then another two started to do the same but not quite as badly. Then the damper pedal failed to work. The manufacturer has been very unhelpful and I would not buy another Korg for that reason.

    Great feel and sound

This piano feels very good to play. The weighted keys are fantastic and the sound quality is excellent with ample low end tone. Great quality and a lot of bang for the buck!!

    Nice piano.

Not as good as our casio 88 key stage piano but it does have good and sound and key weighting.

    Great product!

    E.G. · 26 August 2023

It was easy to assemble. I use to have a vertical acoustic piano and the feel of this Korg Digital piano is very similar to an authentic acoustic piano. Its sound is great, it is compact enough and it’s beautiful. I bought a stool and they look nice together. Happy with my Korg piano!

Ottimo prodotto, tasti pesati di livello professionale

Best piano at ~$1,000 with premium keyboard

    C.l. · 13 December 2020

The key action is amazing for a ~$1,000 digital piano. It absolutely exceeded my expectation.I was debating between Roland RP-102 and this one. Finally, I chose the LP-380. The most important reason is that it comes in white color, while RP-102 doesn't. Besides, I've heard people talking about the RH3 keyboard is better than Roland's PHA4.It is basically the stationary version of Korg D1 with a speaker and case/stand. If you are looking for a portable one, Korg D1 won't let you down.
