I wanted to attach mine to the concrete wall outside my house, Three simple holes with a drill and the correct drill bit and it's so simple to put together, Case of scanning QR codes and setting up your spots! Can't wait to buy a couple more! Class quality, Picks up some audio from some range! Decent quality in picture, No lag issues thus far and looks great!
4.0 out of 5 stars Handy light for my back garden but battery doesn't last
I like this item. It works very well and the installation was quite easy. The only issue is that the batteries seem to be draining fast. I use mine for an Airbnb entrance so there is a fair amount of traffic is it gets activated quite a bit (using motion detection). It is really handy to know when guests have arrived or checked out. But since installing just a few months ago, I already have battery warning. The system does explain how to lower usage but what I really want (withy hindsight) is a hard-wired system. This works well but I wish I had paid more (admittedly a lot more) for a wired in version from another company (or from this one). I realise it was a bargain but now I wish I had thought about it - if anyone knows of a clever way to make this wired in, please tell me!!

I bought this to put in my backyard with an existing blink camera.It does need installing and unless you have plastic sidings then you will need to drill holes.It came with 4 batteries in it. I don't know if they will last as long as they claim but I suppose that depends on how you use it. It was simple to link to the camera and automatically links to the blink app/wifi.It can be controlled from the app and the length of time the lights are on for, the brightness and sensitivity can be altered. The light can also be turned off altogether but cannot work independently from the camera.All in all I am pleased with my purchase.

Easy to set up, self contained, long lasting batteries. Correct price.I just followed the clear instructions and in 10 minutes the system (camera + lights) was connected to my network and up and running.The kit is installed on an outside wall, reasonably exposed to the weather and so far, after about 30 days at the time of writing, there has been no problem.The phone app is basic but it does everything you actually need it to do for a home installation, andon my android it works flawlessly. The subscription for the cloud services is affordable and I find it good value for what functionality provided.I'm very happy with this purchase and should I need more cameras I would buy it again.
1.0 out of 5 stars Not fit for purpose - great product but the battery dependency situation is not ideal
The product works, its great, the app compatibility is perfect, image quality is good, looked fairly easy to install (my electrician did it) etc etcI had my electrician install it half way up the exterior wall of my house so it would come on via motion sensor at night. I was very happy.HOWEVER, the product need x4 D batteries (for the lights) and x2 AA 1.5V lithium non rechargeable batteries (for the camera) to operate. The camera and lights are incredibly battery draining and it took 5 weeks to die.Given that my electrician had to use his big ladder to install it on half way up my exterior wall, and I don't have such a big ladder, I'm stuck with a dead cam and lights on the side of my house, until I make an appointment for him to come back. I'm thinking I need to buy a big ladder but I don't have anywhere to store such a large item, I have no shed and besides I get vertigo anyway so probably best I don't attempt to change the batteries myself anyway.I came back to this page today to find any accessories to change the power supply to mains but I am non the wiser. Instead I'm leaving this review.Think very carefully if you buy this product and putting it somewhere reachable to be able to change the batteries every month. EVERY MONTH.Just for reference, for ongoing regular purchase, today I am having to buy D batteries (Duracell) cost £8.50 for 4, and AA 1.5V (Energiser Ultimate) Lithium Batteries are £9.99 for 4.

I’m rather enthusiastic about Blink cameras. Yes, the range has its limitations, but, on the whole it works for me and what I want to do with it.I’m disappointed with this floodlight accessory. Some bullet points as to why:1. 700 lumens… sounds bright, not really, it’s about the equivalent of a 5 or 6 watt LED floodlight; only illuminates (at best) 60% of my postage stamp back yard.2. Certified working with Alexa… didn’t work for me. Alexa works the Blink cameras fine but not the floodlight. The floodlight is identified as a light device in the Alexa app, but verbal or manual commands are met with “there was a problem”. A week of emails to Blink support resulted in a referral to Alexa support. The only word I can think of for Alexa support is ‘useless’… but that’s a whole other story.3. There were programming conflicts between the floodlight settings and attached outdoor camera settings for me. For instance, if I set the floodlight to activation on movement and the camera night vision control to automatic, when (in darkness) if I went to live view, the screen was blank, as the IR didn’t kick in. This can be resolved by turning off the floodlight activation on movement or turning the camera night vision control to ‘on’ (though this last step does have other implications).To conclude, the Blink floodlight feels like a good idea badly executed. The floodlight isn’t powerful enough, it didn’t work with Alexa and there were too many silly programming glitches.I was going to suggest giving it a while for them to sort out this floodlight’s shortcomings, but maybe give it a year or two and wait for the Blink team to come up with something wholly better.
