    I have several Olight torches that I've bought over the years. I keep coming back because they're so good. The build quality is just superb, so much so that they're just nice objects to hold, let alone use as a torch. This is the best one I've had so far.I need to use a torch quite frequently both for work and for personal activities like dog walking. It's important to me to have a torch that fits comfortably in my pocket (where it always lives), is easy to get out and switch on quickly and equally easy to put away again. Also it's useful to have a range of different brightnesses available depending on whether I'm fumbling to put a key in a lock or trying to see the dog from the other side of a dark field. This one ticks all those boxes.The beam pattern is a good compromise between a long throw distance and a wide flood for seeing close to yourself. There's a bright, even beam in the middle that's fairly tight so it goes a (very) long way, surrounded by a less bright, wider and also evenly lit flood. Very clever.The clip design is the best yet. It fits onto the body of the torch either way round and will also clip on to things both ways so you have every possible combination available. I find the extra thickness of the clip makes it easy to clip on and off the edge of my pocket one-handed. It sounds like a small point but when you use something often you appreciate little details like that.I like the combination of two button types. The side switch is the same as my other Olights, so that's good and familiar. The clicky tail switch is a lovely piece of engineering and it allows you to quickly switch to medium or turbo modes (or strobe if you select that option) either momentarily or permanently. The combination of the two buttons means I can instantly go to whichever brightness I need, and I do use them all for different reasons. On my smaller Olights (S1R and S1R2), turbo mode runs the battery down very quickly so I rarely use it on those. On this one it's much more practical and I'm finding that I use it quite a bit. It's very bright as you might imagine.The magnetic charger is just as good as on the previous Olights. It's supposed to be faster but to be honest I charge them overnight so haven't been awake to notice the difference.The only slight disappointment is that the magnetic tail doesn't hold the weight of the torch as well as the others. It's strong enough to hold it up if it's hanging vertically down from something, but not on an angle. The others will stay put in any orientation. If I'm honest it's not a feature I used very often but it was nice to know it was there. Oh also although it will stand upright on its tail (useful for bouncing light off the ceiling to light up a room) it's less stable than the others because of the bumpy shape of the tail so you have to balance it a bit more carefully.Despite those minor points this is currently my favourite torch and the one that's always in my pocket. No doubt I'll be back for an upgrade to the next one at some point!

    I wanted a good quality, pocketable, bright, torch. After looking at the specs and reviews, I opted for this one. Delivery was quick. The torch was very well boxed.The torch itself is very well made and has a robust feel. The two-button operation and adjustable brightness options are a joy to use - and the bi-directional clip is so simple but utter genius! Being a rechargeable device is a bonus, as I have many USB chargeable devices.It is a bit expensive - but I do not regret my purchase. Hopefully, it will last me years and will therefore be a good investment.

    This is not a cheap torch, but it is an excellent piece of equipment.It feels good to hold and has a fantastic maximum light setting that you can reduce in a flash to a "normal" brightness setting.Really well built, with a great feel of quality - you get what you pay for!

    I bought this for use at work. It beats most torches of the same size out there and fits perfectly on my work clothing.Not yet used all the settings, but the settings I've used get the job done.

    Wanted another more powerful rechargeable torch, to my environmental but and reduce battery use. Saw this reviews online and bit the bullet. Swallowed a bit at the cost, but was more than happy with my purchase.. Arriving in the usual high quality Apple style packaging from Olight, the torch is reassuringly hefty, but not heavy, technically sophisticated, yet easy to grasp it’s several modes. Can’t fault it in any way.

    There's no point in hiding the reality here. This is a pricey torch to say the least. And I didn't spot that until now because I got this to review and maybe that's a good thing because instead of treating this like a precious heirloom - which I would have done had I shelled out the wedge for it - instead I just used and abused it.So, the bottom line is that you are shelling out a lot of money for a torch and you really have to want it to pull out 89 of your hard earned pounds.There are some big positives. First one is that it's simple. No gazillions of options. You switch it on at the press of a button and 'Let there be light.' I like that.It's very well made. No doubt about it, this is a well made bit of kit and one that shouldn't let you down. I've chucked it into my tool box where it's been bounced around in my truck and it's also been to Africa - Namibia - as the go to torch when needed.The really good bit is the charging system using a magnetic button on the USB cable. It's so easy and super convenient. Love it.But the price, the price. If I'm honest I doubt I would have pulled out that kind of money when you can get cheaper - albeit maybe less funky and well made - torches. Bottom line is that if you really want an excellent torch with the convenience of magnetic charging and you have a fat wallet then have at it. You won't be disappointed. However for us mortals who have to eat?
