I have been using butter dishes for my block butter but they do tend to get a little messy.My friend told me about these so I ordered this and I am very pleased with it. It is on the small side, so I managed to squeeze half a block of butter into it. Fill the base with a little cold water and put the lid containing the butter on.Keeps the butter soft but not squishy. It looks good on the kitchen surface as well.

Lovely idea but I have to top up butter every couple of days as only takes 1/2 a UK size butter block. All in all though if you dont mind doing this its a lovely asthetically pleasing butter dish.

Keeps the butter from spoiling without needing a fridge. Butter is soft and easy to spread. Looks smart and easy to clean and refill. Need to be mindful not to over fill with water.
The butter fell out the first time but great second time
It arrived on time and looks nice but when my company went to use it we discovered the butter had fallen into the water. I filled the water to the line. I have no idea what went wrong.Update: It works perfectly now. I softened the butter and made sure it was all the way to the bottom of the butter portion. I filled the water to just under the line. It is so nice to have softened butter available on the counter.
Convenient and Cleanly
I love having this butter bell. It holds about a stick and a half of butter and stays so fresh and is perfectly soft and spreadable. It also looks super cute on my counter. Love everything about it.
