Read the instructions and followed them - easy to use, easy to read the result. Who knows if it’s accurate but if it’s in the realms of accurate then I’m happy. Mid-term testing to see if I’m going the right way.

It's convenient to do test from home however it's a tricky test to do. You have a 30 second window to get an accurate result. You have to compare colour of result on a chart which is very open to different interpretation. Better than nothing though.

Not that reliable and you should not depend on this , i took a couple of tests and both said my cholesterol was good yet a i subsequently had a blood test and it cam up higher that what it should be , take my advise and if you want to be thorough go and get a blood test at the docs

Received this today. Absolute waste of money.You don’t get an accurate reading. Colour match to the dot where your blood sample was on the other side and all you get is 5.2 to 6.5.That’s a huge difference.5.2 is acceptable and 6.5 is bad. So which am l?Who knows 🤔.I expected a much more accurate figure than that!

I bought this to see if benecol had reduced my total cholesterol level after a recent high reading from the Dr. The kit has clear instructions in a leaflet, although there are also instructions on the box, which are not as comprehensive. I followed the instructions as directed and found the test easy to do, from using the lancet to drawing blood into the capillary tube. (Note the tube is not a pipette, blood is drawn up on its own by capillary action. You only squeeze the bulb to get the blood out again.) The blood was then dripped onto the reverse of the test card and after a 2 minute wait, I was able to match the colour of the result against the markers on either side. I found it easy to match the colour and had my wife confirm my assessment as well. The test was in the smiley face range, but it is quite a broad range, so you don't know if you are close to the upper limit. This test isn't a replacement for a proper lab blood test, but as an indicator it seemed to work well for me. There are 2 test cards, so I can do another test after a few more weeks.
4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job but the colour matching system isn’t that clear
The result you get from this is a colour, which then has to be compared with colours on a chart to get an approximate reading. This is more help if your result is very high or very low but in the middle it’s very hard to decide if the colour matches the shades of green representing slightly-too-high or normal cholesterol. Made worse by the fact that the shade changes quickly. It’s not terrible — I know my cholesterol is not totally awful — but for those with slightly high cholesterol wanting to see the gradual results of lifestyle changes, it’s a lot less help. That said, I’m not sure there are other tests out there at this price that are any more precise so I’ll give it 4 stars anyway.
