    It's a really good size, the magnets work well, the pieces are nice. The hinge isn't perfectly placed so there's some alignment issues, but only slight. Really good for the price.

    I bought this for our Grandson, who wanted to learn how to play chess.It’s a beautiful set. It’s quite sturdy and the pieces are very well made. It’s a decent size board and pieces are chunky.The box is lined with a kind of velvet in-lay, and all of the pieces slot in.The pieces are magnetic, which is handy, in case the board is nudged, so the pieces stay where they are.I’m really impressed with this, and our Grandson is over the moon.

    Both chess and draughts, yes I prefer to use the word "draughts" over checkers, lol...!First impressions from looking at the outer wrapping (see photos) is very positive. It is just so well detailed and well presented, as a sleeve to protect the wooden board. It is worth retaining.The board itself, being a good size, is well made with decent hinges and clasps to keep it closed.When unfolded it looks very rich, both with the contents of the pieces, inlayed in a softened type of padded velvet like material, and then the board itself.A criticism at this point is with having both the draughts and chess pieces within the same compartment means that you have to remove both sets to flip it over to play either game. A means to retain one or the other where the yare held would have been useful. Pieces can get lost.It might have been useful to have been given a storage bag for the pieces due to the above.The pieces themselves are reasonably solid, having a magnet in their base. That base is covered with a velvet type material. The yare not overly heavy, but the magnetic aspect of holding them to the board means the yare stable enough.Those pieces are not elaborately detailed, the carvings of the knights for example are rather plain. BUT that is reflected in the price.Overall I do recommend this chess set. It is solid enough, well constructed and not fragile. The pieces are a little plain but they hold well on the board.The retaining area for the draughts and chess pieces could have benefited from retaining type covers or straps, but that is fairly minor.The pieces and the board is glossed with varnish, a wipe clean surface.I would buy it again if I needed to.I do hope this review has helped you.

    Really decent quality chess set. Love the magnets which help hold the pieces in place. Makes it ideal for the car. Gets plenty of use and is just as solid as the day we got it.

    I bought this chess board as a Christmas gift. The delivery arrived very quick and the chess board it looks very luxurious and the quality is amazing. The size of this chess board is perfect and the magnet to keep the chess from falling is great. I know that this is going to be enjoyed for many years.

    Très bonne manufacture. Les pièces sont bien aimantées au plateau ce qui est pratique. En revanche les pièces du jeu de dame ne le sont pas. Mais comme c'est un plateau de 10*10 au lieu de 8*8 comme aux échec ces pièces sont donc inutiles.

    Un Ajedrez de excelente calidad. Increíble al tacto, piezas imantadas muy bien hechas, todo ello de madera barnizada. Me ha encantado porque viene con el sistema algebraico para poder apuntar la partida y luego revisarla, muy útil. También vienen con las piezas (estas no imantadas) para jugar a las Damas. La única pega que le pongo es que, si quieres jugar al Ajedrez, tienes que sacar las piezas de las Damas, y si quieres jugar a las Damas, tienes que sacar las piezas del Ajedrez porque dan contra la mesa y el tablero queda ligeramente en el aire, no firme. Un juego que hay que tener.

    Massima valutazione nonostante qualche pecca.Prodotto non imbustato e tagliando di spedizione incollato sulla scatola in cartone . Volendo fare un regalo non stava benissimo ,con un coltellino ho cercato di staccarlo , ma non è venuto via benissimo . Peccato .I pezzi riposti all'interno della scacchiera , in appositi vani ,non sono comodissimi da riporre , richiedono ordine ed attenzione , ma visto che è un regalo a un bambino di 6 anni potrebbe essere un valore aggiunto, e insegnare una cosa positiva. In alternativa si rimuove l'apparato interno e si mettono tutti i pezzi dentro come viene, in quel caso si può usare la scacchiera al posto delle maracas per suonare la Cucaracha , un po' rumoroso ma artistico. Veniamo ai lati positivi , come potete vedere dalle foto, la magnetizzazione e sufficiente , salvo gravi eventi tellurgici , i pezzi sono ben rifiniti e la doppia regina è una figata . La scacchiera aperta non ha un fermo e ha bisogno di un piano di appoggio non troppo dissestato , ma un prato , il letto o un divano vanno bene , un cammello in corsa no. I colori sono caldi e piacevoli e la recensione troppo lunga , lo so , ma nessuno è perfetto . Ci sono due versioni , consiglio quella che costa un pochino di più , quella con i numeri e le lettere sul piano di gioco.
