5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased
Like many I wanted a dehumidifier to dry washing instead of using a tumble dryer. After lots of browsing I selected this unit. It's very compact and, initially, I was concerned that it might not be large enough. I have now used it on a couple of occasion in combination with a large airier and it has performed well. I use it in the box room to keep the volume it's working in as small as possible. Operation is simple, turn it on and set to continuous. After being on for 4 or 5 hours the washing has, on the whole, been dry, large towels need a bit longer. Operation is quiet and emptying the water once finished is very easy.Overall very happy so far, being compact means it's unobtrusive in the corner of the room when not being used, time will tell regarding reliability ...
4.0 out of 5 stars Good
My wife loved It would buy again
5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says
Not much to not like about this fills up twice a day so got to regularly empty it. It's very quiet for its size. When the humidity gets to round 61% it goes into stand by so it only takes out the amount of humidity that can cause damp and condensation. Will definitely be looking at getting more of these for other rooms.
5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin with a couple of minor annoyances
I've used this product for about a month now and can safely say I'm very pleased with it. The humidity sensor is accurate to within about 2% when compared to a calibrated hygrometer I have. When looking at buying a dehumidifier be sure to understand your level of expectation in how quickly it will work. It will not immediately remove all the moisture within the air in 30 minutes. As stated in the description it will remove up to 10L per day in 30C room at 80% relative humidity. This means that assuming it's being ran for 24 hours it will collect just over 400ml per hour. The size of your room and humidity level will determine how much moisture can be removed, if it's 60% humidity it will take longer to remove the same amount of moisture than if it's 70%. The same is true if you have a large area. The product itself is a compressor dehumidifier and uses R290 refrigerant. WARNING - R290 IS PROPANE!!! Propane is highly flammable but also a good refrigerant. There's 45g of it in the system but if released into the atmosphere will expand rapidly and could be a potential fire hazard. In terms of energy usage going by the stated 195W you can expect it to cost roughly 40p per 5 hours of runtime assuming an electricity rate of 40p per kWh at maximum power draw - I haven't tested actual figures to claimed figures as of this review. The only two issues I have with the product is that the intake is on the rear and the output is to the left of the machine. I like to have it in the corner of the room but it means having the display face into the corner to try and get best airflow circulated around the room. The second issue I have is that the power cable comes out of the same side as the output. Again not major issues but it means you have to think about where you're placing it and is the power cable going to get caught.Otherwise it's a fantastic bit of kit. If you don't know much about dehumidifiers I would recommend doing research on them. The main ones are peltier, compressor (work similar to the way air conditioners work), and desiccant. Also yes the unit does produce warm air because of the way a compressor dehumidifier works but its not hot air. It depends on how warm your environment is but I was seeing an output about 7-10C warmer than ambient.
3.0 out of 5 stars Difficult controls small tank
Positives:- quiet, visually attractive and not too heavyNegatives:- small water tank needs emptying every day, controls difficult to use and instruction booklet not clear.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great. Glad I bought.
This is great and gets soooo much moisture out of the air! You've no idea how much damp is in your house!! I use it for drying clothes as I can't get a tumble dryer, due to space. It is small but big enough for me. I use in a tiny box room with clothes on a airer. A fan from the motor blows warm air out of the side, and I face that towards the clothes, but not too close! Please read instructions and be safe. It dries the clothes by it, + gets the humidity out of the air caused by damp clothes. I can get a tank full of water! Best thing I ever bought.
