5.0 out of 5 stars What a GEM!
This radio is SUPERB, well up to the consistent standard of the long-established company, "Roberts Radio". I had tried a similar radio of a different make, but it just wouldn't pick up any DAB stations, not a single one. Admittedly, the aerial reception in the room where it was used is not that great, but my ancient Evoke radio had found plenty of DAB stations whilst in the same location. This Roberts Stream 94i also found loads of DAB stations, even though many of them had quite considerable signal errors on account of the rather poor reception. Many FM stations, which I probably won't now be needing, were also found, again, given the weak aerial signal in the said room. The Internet Radio feature of this Roberts Stream 94i radio is a dream! There are truly hundreds and hundreds of stations to choose from. At first, the unit had trouble connecting to my router, but eventually, all was well, and, touchwood, things have continued that way. I can't get over the choice of stations there are! I'm a lifetime fan of the late, great Buddy Holly, and was delighted to find one dedicated to him, playing his own music and that of tribute artist(e)s to Holly around the clock, 24/7. What an absolute delight! Thank you so much, Roberts Radio! It's Internet Radio for me now, without a doubt.I love everything about this baby. The display is nice and bright and everything is easy to set up, if you have a little technical common-sense. It cost £100 more than the previous one I had to return, but so what? - this is the price of quality, worth every penny. The sound performance, for such a dinky unit, is excellent. I love the wonderful amounts of presets available (40 for each type of radio input, Internet, DAB, and FM), and they are dead easy to assign to the stations required. There are still many features I shall need to learn about, but I'm confident they will all work.Incidentally, attached to the low voltage lead that connects from the mains unit to the radio is a little cylinder-shaped gadget, with a few loops of the lead wrapped within its hollow interior. It can be opened, if required, so that the wrapped portion can be moved away from the mains unit, as I wanted to happen. It is, as suspected, an anti-interference component, designed to protect the radio from such. I found this out from a most helpful chap I spoke to at Roberts Radio - excellent Customer Service! One last thing: the User Manual that comes with this radio is excellent. I say this, because, unlike with many products these days, you don't need a surgeon's microscope to be able to read the print! This Manual is of a decent size, and is very clear. I would. though, advise anyone buying this radio (which I encourage everyone to do) to download a PDF version of the same Manual, as it's handy to have, especially on a desktop computer, where the text will be even more readily-visible. Not only that, PDF files can be searched for text, rather than having to thumb through multiple paper pages to find reference to a subject. That's all! Buy this with confidence - and no, I don't work for Roberts Radio! - nor have I ever done. :-)
5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect radio!
I have always enjoyed listening to the radio, and being into electronics, I've tinkered with and made a few too. I used to use apps on my phone to listen to internet radio and really enjoyed the variety. Unfortunately though, many apps are now full of ads and have spotty connections, so I fell out with it all. After reading reviews on this and the 93i, I decided to take the plunge and go for this. I know the main difference between the two is cosmetic, but I really liked the look of this one, mixing modern functionality with classic styling and I hate the glossy piano black finish of some modern gadgets (mega dust magnet!).I was pleasantly surprised as I unboxed it, as it looked even better in my hands and felt like a quality piece of kit. Set up was actually enjoyable and I encountered no problems at all. I normally read manuals through first, but the set up was so easy and intuitive that I didn't need to.Sound quality is amazing for such a small unit. It has surprising bass, and plenty of detail in all other areas. I can listen to it quietly and hear conversations fine, or it would be equally well suited to a party with booming music.I downloaded the app and it really does make it so much quicker to find new stations and organise your favourites, as well as controlling basic functions rather well.My only criticism in any area of this app is sometimes it doesn't remember your radio and you have to re-scan. Occasionally it still won't pick it up until the radio has been powered off and back on again. My only slight annoyance with the radio itself is sometimes it will reboot as you're listening to something, but with daily listening it maybe happens 4 or 5 times a week and comes right back to what you were listening to.I've found so many new stations that I enjoy listening to, and I love that I have them all in one place. It looks beautiful and the screen is nice and clear, displaying plenty of information. I enjoy listening to it every day, whether it's 10 minutes before bed or 12 hours through the day and I think for how much I enjoy it, it was well worth the price. One thing I heard mentioned a few times in reviews is that when the radio is on standby and the clock face is showing, it's too bright at night if it's next to your bed. I found it very easy to adjust the brightness and it will go right down to a dim glow that can barely be seen, or you can just not have the clock showing at all.I paid just under £200 for it and was very happy with that, and now it's on offer with £30 off it's a steal!

L'adaptateur secteur est aux normes Anglaise. Je dois maintenant trouver un bloc secteur me permettant de faire fonctionner la radio. Inadmissible.
Bello suona bene e ascolti il mondo
L'apparecchio è molto bello e suona bene ! Consigliato
Quality product that does what it claims.
I wanted a high quality internet radio for the kitchen, and the 94L does the job admirably. Compact, with good voice reproduction and real (but not intrusive) bass. Easy to set up, and no problems in the 3 months I've had it. The remote works well- simple and straightforward. Markings on the horizontal button bar are small and can be hard to decipher until you find your way around. Only major gripe was the delivery cost to Australia- ~AUD90! Even so, it was competitive with other brands available locally, like Ruark and Sonoma.
Great sound from a portable internet/DAB+ radio
I love the stereo sound of the Roberts Stream94i DAB+/DAB/FM Internet Radio with Spotify Connect and Added Bluetooth. The highs and mid frequencies are bright and the bass is rich without sounding doof doof like so many speakers made for young people. For people outside the UK, you should note that the mains power supply for the radio is a 12VDC/2.5A adapter with a UK plug that CANNOT BE REMOVED. At least in Australia one can purchase third party UK to AU adapters that enable the power supply to be plugged into a local mains socket. Alternatively, any mains to 12VDC/2.5A adapter will power this radio. For portability Roberts supply an optional 12V rechargeable lithium battery at extra cost that clips to the rear of the radio. Unfortunately Bolo does not offer this battery outside Britain. A number of UK customers have complained online that the Roberts battery ceases to recharge after 24 months, so it's no great loss. I have found that any 12V lithium power bank that stores over 10,000 mAh of energy (the type common sold as and emergency automobile starter) is a superior substitute for the Roberts battery and will power the radio for 4 hours or more. Although these power banks will not clip to the radio like the Robert's version, pieces of self-adhesive hook and loop tape mounted on the top of the radio under the carry handle provide a neat secure solution. I have not tested the sensitivity of the radio to pick-up distant stations but in a suburban environment it picks up all of the Melbourne FM and. DAB+ stations. It comes pre-programmed to search for UK and European stations but the excellent manual tells users in other regions how to wipe the preset frequencies and scan automatically (or manually) for local stations. Overall 5 stars!
