Mari Silva's new book on "Auras: the Ultimate Guide to Aura Reading, Clairvoyance and other Psychic Abilities" packs an amazing amount of information and practical exercises into quite a small book. I've read it as a Booksprout reviewer (for a free copy) and as someone who has read numerous book on this (and related) subjects: as well as having experienced spontaneous perception of auras around trees, plants and a range of inanimate objects: also very familiar with chakras and "subtle" energy work.The chapter headings reveal its broad scope: What is an aura? It all starts with energy. Aura anatomy: the 7 layers. Perceiving your own aura. How to see human auras. Seeing the aura of plants and animals. Aura colours and their meanings. Cleansing and healing the aura. Protecting the aura. Daily tips to enhance psychic abilities.What I liked most about this book was its practicality: for anyone wishing to develop spiritual/psychic abilities, it offers a range of targeted exercises -- and clear explanations why they are needed and how they will help, given patience and persistence.As the author keeps emphasising, anyone can see and learn to "read" auras if you really want to, by consistently putting in the time needed. Some basics are to quiet mental noise, sensitise your hands (if kinaesthetic & inclined to clairsentience) and train your eyes (if visual and inclined to clairvoyance) to use a soft focus and not get auras confused with afterimages.Mari explains how auras relate to subtle energy fields, to "biofields" as electromagnetic fields observed by science, and to Rupert Sheldrake's "morphogenetic fields". She explains broadly how "subtle" energy is distributed via nadis and chakras to feed the auric fields, in distinct layers. This would have been helped by illustrations: but just google "chakra images" to find plenty on the web.I found this book a handy refresher course for basic concepts plus a surprising amount of detail for its length, with new information and exercises worth trying, that I didn't already know.And I particularly liked the chapters on seeing (and relating via) the auras of plants and animals, as something I've not come across in other books on auras.A very practical introduction to a fascinating subject.

As someone who recently became interested in auras, I can only recommend this book. Very clearly written, easily understandable and concise.Once again, Mari has hit the nail on the head. She shows how easy it is to develop aura reading.This book can be read on its own and does not need any previous spiritual training. But when you develop your spiritual knowledge / gifts, it is fascinating to see how everything is interconnected. It all starts with and depends on energy.A must read
