I've only ever had a Fitbit Charge 2 which I purchased back in 2017 and then it went wrong. Initially I was going to "go" with another Fitbit because I was familiar with how they worked etc, etc. Then I realised that they had been taken over by Google and that things were on the change so a huge decision lay ahead as I really am not a tech phobe person, if that is the right expression to use!So I wanted something that was not complicated and also - far more importantly - something that was not too big on my tiny wrist as some of these smart watches are just massive and would actually cover the whole of my wrist which would not be good!Bearing all of this in mind I was drawn to the Garmin Vivosmart 5 as it seemed to do all the "things" that my trusted old Fitbit used to do and it looked nice and small on my tiny wrist. This was a huge decision for me but now I am a good 3 weeks into this and it is just utterly amazing - i love it. OK I probably don't understand everything that the different reports tell me but I was expecting that.I did have an issue to begin with because I purchased one which must have been faulty as it suddenly stopped reading the heartbeat so that was returned and a replacement item was sent out the same day which was utterly amazing service. This one seems to be working just fine, so fingers crossed that it does not go wrong. Hopefully not.It took me a while to get used to the screen on the App but when i had to set up the replacement Vivosmart I set everything up slightly differently and so this seems to be working much, much better for me. In fact I am so impressed that I am waiting for my husband's Fitbit to go wrong so that we can change him over to a Garmin Vivosmart 5 too. I am well pleased with this fitness tracker, it does much more than I ever thought it would and I have got used to it so quickly as I was so worried that it would be too complicated and too difficult to operate - but it is just great with the little tap button on the top of the actual tracker.Thoroughly recommend this item if you want something good but easy to operate and easy to understand.

After my Fitbit health tracker band finally gave up the ghost, I decided to look for the closest equivalent I could find. The Garmin Vivosmart 5 seemed the best fit for me regarding size and function. In fact, this device exceeded my requirements for trackers for Heart Rate, Blood Oxygen, Step count, Sleep monitoring, etc. I wanted a band size similar to my old FitBit and a sub £150 price tag. So far so good.I am pleasantly surprised at the Vivosmart 5. Functionality outstrips my old FitBit, and the companion Garmin App actually gives me most (if not all) what I would have to pay extra for by having to subscribe to FitBit’s premium subscription.Battery life can be quite short (approximately 2 days) if the Blood Oxygen readings are set to constant (Pulse), but I get approximately 4 days use (permanently on my wrist) without charging if this function is turned off.I can of course switch this on again if I require a check, so I know it’s available.My only minor niggle so far is that if I want to use non-metric weights and distances, the weather temperature (synced from the app on my phone) displays in fahrenheit rather than celsius. Even though it's celciius on my phone. It seems this cannot be changed unless I select metric weights and distances. Not a major issue for me, as the weather apps on my phone suffice for this data.So, in conclusion, after a few days of ownership, so far I’m impressed.If I could score 4.5 stars I would.

This can monitor things I never even thought to consider. It's reminders throughout the day to hydrate and move are very useful as I tend to forget. It also encourages you through alerts and achievements when you reach certain milestones. It's low profile, and doesn't weigh much. I tend to forget I have it on. Battery is ok, I tend to have it down to 50% after only about 3 days, but I'm also using it insensitively (lots of walks, workouts, tracking hydration etc).I had a Fitbit previously, I'd say it's so much better but honestly I don't even want to compare the two. This is exceptional

The first disappointment with this device is that it does not come in a sealed box. No cellophane wrap, no security seal, nothing, just an open box. This is great for companies who want to send out faulty items over and over again, but, is not so good for customers who end up getting fobbed off with one.Upon starting it up, it would not pair with the app, no matter what I did. Checked online support, no help, as I was doing everything right already. Contacted chat support, but was not helped by them either; tried to fob me off with articles that I'd already read, and asked me questions that I had already answered, very annoying. Got told to call them, which I did. A helpful lady asked me to reset the Vivosmart 5, but it could not be done as pressing the button on the device which is required to access the menu did not work at all.I quite obviously got a faulty unit, and couldn't be bothered to go through all the hassle of getting a replacement (especially because of the open box thing mentioned earlier), so I sent it back for a refund. Wasted a few hours of my life with this rubbish, not prepared to waste even more time on it.Also, I noticed that it emits a very bright green strobe light constantly into your skin. I was quite concerned about any possible long-term health implications of that. Smartwatches are a relatively new fad, and I wonder what we might find out in the future about them...melanoma anyone!?

I have replaced my Vivosmart watch that I have had for several years due to battery failure. I chose the new version of Vivosmart and am thrilled with the noticeably improved battery life and ease of use.. I am not using it for exercise reports other than for walking but found it really easy to set up and sync with my phone.
DO NOT BUY
I have spent a very frustrating two days since the Vivosmart 5 arrived trying to get it paired with my iphone.The instructions that come with it are useless, as are the online instructions. I finally spent all morning chatting with 4 different people at customer support, none of whom were really of any help. Finally the Vivosmart just paired itself, but this device is just not worth the aggravatiom!!!!!!!!

Montre au top qui me permet un très bon suivi au quotidien ! Je l'ai acheté suite à des problèmes de santé pour avoir une aide pour mon suivi.Ses points positifs : on peut se doucher avec, elle donne un score de sommeil, un score d'énergie, on peut régler une alarme pour la fréquence cardiaque, l'appli est très simple d'utilisation, la montre a une interface simple à comprendre aussi.Ses points négatifs : elle ne déclenche pas seule l'enregistrement d'une activité sportive (sauf la marche) et le bracelet est très épais.Malgré cela, je la recommande à 100% !
