5.0 out of 5 stars Great piece of kit
So easy to install. Worked straight away. The adhesive is really strong and makes the Alexa auto so secure.
5.0 out of 5 stars Echo Auto…Brilliant
After trying a few different combinations to make hands-free phone calls in my car, which doesn’t have Bluetooth. I thought I would give this a try. It’s absolutely brilliant. Took two minutes to install and it’s so compact. I’ve got it sitting just behind the steering wheel in front of the dash and it doesn’t obscure anything. Now I get in the car it connects straight away And I can get the News listen to Spotify play my Apple music not to mention ultra clear phone calls. For anyone driving an old car in the same situation as long as you have the auxiliary report, I would have no hesitation this.
4.0 out of 5 stars Works for the most part
The device was easy to connect, like any other echo device. The only issues I have is occasionally it stops working, making me unplug it and then plug it back for it to initiate again. Other than that, I think the sound quality is great, and it's small in appearance, making it sleek and non-obstructive. The mic is a bit sensitive, so it triggers often to any word that sounds remotely like "Alexa" when the mic is turned on, which is a slight inconvenience. But it's great quality and I would recommend it to any lover of Alexa devices.
5.0 out of 5 stars Was going to be sent back...Now love it! If you have constant disconnection issues, read this!
I drive an old 54 plate Honda civic with an aftermarket Sony stereo, which has Bluetooth. I use a Samsung S22 Ultra which connects to it. The whole reason I got this is because I use Bolo music to play songs in my car through my Bluetooth stereo, I was able to skip back and forth with my stereo, but if I wanted a specific song I had to unlock my phone (naughty I know), so the music app was up, and then I was able to ask alexa to play a certain song or genre/playlist. I know Bolo music can be set to stay lit up on screen, so you can ask alexa to play a song in the Bolo music app, but I didn't like this as I didn't want my battery draining.I was originally going to send it back as the echo auto constantly lost connection with my phone...it was driving me mad as couldn't get 2 minutes through a song without it saying 'Sorry, lost connection with the Alexa App'. I tried 'forgetting' the device in my phones Bluetooth list, resetting the echo auto to factory reset...but nothing would work. I thought it was a load of rubbish, loosing patience with it and was going to send it back.I then spoke to customer support through the Bolo app and he asked is the alexa app up to date, as this is what the echo auto connects to through your phone's Bluetooth. I thought what a stupid question! of course it is! my phone automatically updates my apps!I went into the Google play store and checked for updates and it said no updates available. I thought I would be thorough and search for the actual alexa app in the play store, I clicked on it, and it said enable?! I thought how can it say enable, when I have the app on my phone and just used it?! After clicking enable it then said update, which I did and reopened the alexa app...it now works perfectly with no connectivity issues what so ever! I couldn't believe something so simple could cause so many issues. So if you have an android device (I'm assuming the same with iphone) be sure the alexa app is up to date. Even if it says no updates in the play store, search for it, click on it and ensure it's 'enabled' and then up to date. I don't understand how it couldn't have been in the first place as I was using the alexa app?! But that solved all my issues with the constant loss of connection. 3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Device but Overpriced
I recently purchased the Echo Auto (2nd gen.) to add Alexa functionality to my car, and while it has some useful features, I have mixed feelings about its overall value. Here’s my take:#### Pros:1. **Alexa Integration**: It’s great to have Alexa in the car for hands-free control of music, navigation, and reminders. Voice commands work well, and it’s convenient to get updates or control smart home devices while driving.2. **Compact Design**: The device is small and unobtrusive, fitting easily on my dashboard without taking up much space.3. **Easy Setup**: Setting up the Echo Auto was straightforward. It connected quickly to my car’s Bluetooth and my phone’s Alexa app.#### Cons:1. **Price Fluctuations**: The price of this device keeps changing, and I feel I paid too much for what it’s worth. It’s frustrating to see it go on sale for significantly less shortly after I bought it.2. **Mediocre Audio Quality**: The audio quality is not as good as I expected. Music playback is just okay, and sometimes the voice responses are not very clear.3. **Occasional Connectivity Issues**: I’ve experienced some connectivity issues where the device disconnects from my phone or the car’s Bluetooth, which can be quite annoying when I’m driving. While the Echo Auto (2nd gen.) adds some convenience with Alexa in the car, the fluctuating price and some performance issues make it hard to justify the cost. It’s a decent device if you can get it at a good price, but I feel I overpaid for its current performance.
