Merrell’s leadership in the barefoot category continues with the Trail Glove 7. Key updates include more natural foot positioning for a true minimalist feel, a Vibram® EcoStep outsole that wraps the foot to maximize grip and connection, and a minimal midsole made of FloatPro Foam™, our best midsole foam. Within the midsole, we also integrated our FLEXconnect® dual-directional flex-grooves for enhanced ground connection. Total stack height on these shoes is 14mm. Return to barefoot with the Trail Glove 7.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worn in 2 months
Used to walk dog and general wear around town under 200 miles walked mostly thus on tarmac and Im like others seeing grip in places gone - Whilst barefoot walking has helped my feet no end I wont be replacing them with like model if I have to replace every 2 months.Update 26 Nov - So I carried on wearing them ( so an additional 2.5 months since last review) and oddly they seem to have stopped wearing down, seems its just the grip part that seems to wear quickly - I was expecting them to fall apart pretty quickly but still wearing every day and the wear hasn't got really much worse so putting back one start for now - will carry on till they drop as such.Update 1 May 10 months in. Still going so Ive actually put a star back as whilst the grip fades pretty quick the base is resilient - I still wear them every day, though they do look like they are getting close to giving up now but even in this state no water is getting through as yet.... Grip wise on tarmac and compact trail no issues not slippy even though the treads long gone - whats slightly freaking me out is the subliminal message coming through on one of the shoes lolUpdate 5th July 12 months reachedFinally decided to replace them after 1 years continued use as my daily erm walker. If you really need a tread for grip these will not be great but for my use case even though the grip itself went bye bye really quickly they still had ground grip for my daily walks so worked so not going to change final star rating of four.No new model till next year assuming usual Merrell model lineup changes, so Im not replacing with this show but going to try a pair of Howgill's
3.0 out of 5 stars Not durable, but comfortable
I've worn these for trips abroad where I do a few miles of walking a day, for about a week.I've had them a year and used them for a total of 6 weeks. Whilst they're comfortable and look great, they've now worn completely on the heels, so they're no longer safe. At almost £100 they're not really adequate. I'll try some cheaper brand next time.
1.0 out of 5 stars Merrell worst barefoot trainers
Stack height 15mm.Cannot feel the groundFar too paddedThey have totally moved away from the barefoot concept. For me waste of money
4.0 out of 5 stars Not barefoot
This is good looking trainer, but certainly not barefoot, unlike earlier glove models. The sole is very thick and inflexible.
2.0 out of 5 stars Starting to fall apart
Very disappointed in the longevity of the Merrel Trail Glove 7. After less than 5 months very easy use, no trails etc, they are starting to come apart. I guess I should go back to Vivobarefoot
3.0 out of 5 stars Not comfortable
I just tried and didn't feel right,so I returned, thanks to Bolo and Merrell I get my money back but as a product I don't like it
4.0 out of 5 stars Very good quality little bit expensive but have send for a 2nd pair.
They are well made.
Great fit
Is slightly narrower than Vivobarefoot Trail Knit but still comfortable. Did a 10km run on trails and the extra stack was appreciated. Have a 40km run tomorrow so I’ll see how it does on a long run. I normally take a size 13 and the size 13 for this shoe is perfect with a thumb width of room for the big toe.Update: have a number of long runs in these shoes - 40km and 23km, and these shoes performed well. Not sure about the summer months but my feet are not too hot in these. My wife bought a pair as well and she’s super happy, she has a hard time finding decently comfortable shoes and these haven’t disappointed her.
