5.0 out of 5 stars What a Difference!
I first tried the cheaper (£30-40) bone conduction phones, and was disappointed enough to send them back within an hour of receiving them. Poor fit, poor sound quality and altogether not worth the effort. My friend had told me about the Shokz models, but I was reluctant to spend that much money in the beginning. How glad I am that I did! These phones are excellent - perfect fit, so comfortable I forgot I was wearing them and they weren't even dislodged by quite violent head movements so great for those much younger and fitter than me who actually indulge in workouts, and excellent sound quality, albeit a little lacking in bass as one might expect. Even that can be fixed by wearing earplugs, but that kind of defeats the object I would say! I occasionally operate a telephone switchboard and I think these phones will be perfect for avoiding discomfort from continuous wearing for hours at a time - much better than the headset I used before. A little point my friend told me about - if worn correctly and you turn the volume up high they tickle your ears. Not at all unpleasant, just a bit weird! Conclusion - don't bother with the cheap ones. Go for the Shokz or just use ordinary headsets. Definitely worth the extra £100!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great headphones
I bought these as I had started running again and I was using over ear headphones, so I was constantly looking behind me. These however have given me the confidence to just run. Sure, I still make a safety check every now and then, but I am so much more aware of my surroundings with these on they've been a game changer.Sound quality is decent, they are comfortable to wear, light weight, didn't move around when jogging, and the Bluetooth connectivity hasn't droped out at all.Very happy with this purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and decent sounding
Got these to do cycling and walking. You can still hear what’s going on around you and the music. So, they are really good for sports. The sound quality is not as good as AirPods - they are a bit light on bass… but once you’ve been wearing them a while you don’t really notice. Battery life is pretty good too and in line with suggested manufacturer duration. Would buy again.
4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant when you still want to hear.
Bought for riding my bike…..fits well and allows excellent sound yet I can still hear traffic and conversation. Positives are a long play life before recharge, easy to keep on for hours with no discomfort…. and light. They are NOT REPEAT NOT about noise cancellation…that is the whole point. Small qibbles, the connecting hoop around the back is over long which makes lying in bed on one’s back tricky and if using a MIPS helmet needs some care. Bluetooth link is bombproof, phone calls etc all easy. Excellent value.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best "sports" music solution
I have tried probably 10 different types of in and on ear solutions for walking, running and cycling. many just didn't cut it by falling out, loosing grip, giving bad sound, have terrible battery life or really slow charging. I was very surprised that these headphones did all of that great. whilst letting in outside sound they provide clear audio, fit well, charge quick and last for at least 6 hours straight (in my testing so far).I am very happy with them and thus particular model is just right on price for performance.however all that said the quality is not the highest quality but it was sufficient to listen to a wide range of music types and telephone calls. occasionally background noise does dominate the sound but that is to be expected. the on device controls ate easy to increase and decrease the volume and accept/hang up calls.the other comment is thay I have a typically head size and found the head "loop" a little large so suggest trying the smaller sized band if below head sizes of 56cms.I wish I tried these sooner. I use them on every ride and run and sometimes in bed to listen to music or videos before sleep.highly recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great pair of headphones
Bone conductors so, No ear wax, good for bikes and running, clear sound bass is fine but dubstep probably not the best.I use day to day and and for work calls. The multi cast setting allows me to switch between devices, not always perfect when switching.Struggles with Win11(and win11 Teams) fine with Win10 as it shows hands free as a separate option.Fine with using with glassesBattery life is great, only charge over night.50% volume is usually plenty on all devicesNot great for laying in bed or on pillow, no issue on head rests on office chairs.Sometimes can get ear ache but that's from over use (all day for days on end)May forget that your wearing it like most headphones, but not very portable if need to carry in pocket.
5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Suprised - so is everyone who tries them
First off these are NOT Noise cancelling or perfect sound wise. They never claimed to be.If you are active and want to listen to music or audio but still be aware of what is going on around you then these are for you. You can listen to good quality music bit less bass than conventional ear buds but still very good and quite loud too considering it is bone induction. You pop them on and boof!! sound! in your head. Okay there can be a little tickle sensation on your temples when playing loud bass stuff but you tune it out more you use them. Has it's own USB lead for charging and a little light to let you know it is charging. Cannot say how long it lasts on a charge as I have had it on all day sometimes and it has never powered down. Press and hold right side for on/off and I forget the rest oh! Tap left to mute. Another advantage over ear buds is you can't have one drop out. I like these I can listen to podcasts and still here someone call me a tosser whilst I am working - yeah people think you cannot hear - but you can. So there you go I like em hope you like them too.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Earphones
I love Shokz. After i purchased mine everyone in my house wanted a pair. We each have a pair. The sound quality is so clear and the best part is I don't have to put anything in my ear. The connection is great, they are light and fit well and are easy to use. I also love the magnetic charger (they don't take long to charge either). I would recommend to anyone who hates ear buds. These are brilliant!
For cycle commuting with podcasts it just works
After my Bluetooth earpiece of many years service died I replaced it with the OpenRun. I had been looking at these for a while as I wanted to listen to podcasts while riding without being cut off from my surroundings. The reviews I read were mixed, concerns about vibrations, wind noise, volume and comfort.I was ready to face some adjustments, but they just worked. I put them on and they're great! I had fantastic clear sound right away while still being able to hear what's going on around me.My dumbo like ears still pick up wind noise at speed, but its better than when I was using the single earpiece. They fit under my helmet straps and coexist with my glasses. I am really pleased.
Great for working out, music, phone...
I'm actually on my second pair of these after somehow losing my first pair. I love them! I had been looking for a good set of phones for the gym. I don't like ear buds (or anything that goes in my ear) and the over the ear headphones just never were secure enough. Enter these little guys. They're perfect. The sound clarity is excellent, but they don't completely block out all external sounds. And even though they don't cover your ears, external noise isn't as distracting as you might think. The fit is wonderful. The bar goes behind your head and the ear pieces go over your ear while the 'receivers' press against your jaw bone. While that might sound a bit weird, they're actually very comfortable. And the sound quality is great. Be warned that if you listen to loud music with much bass, the buds will vibrate and for me, it's an odd tickle. Other than that, music sounds great. Phone use is seamless. Incoming and outgoing calls route through the headset and the sound quality is excellent. These are a great option for someone who wants a quality, comfortable, multipurpose headset.
Super comodos
Perfect for walking/jogging
If you love your playlists and worry about not being able to listen to outside noise while outside, it sits perfectly well near the ears and the audio is pretty good. I always prefer it over my in-ear headphones most days on my walks. It also helps with my tinnitus.
