I bought these to hold scaffold board shelves for tools and paint etc to tidy my garage. Any kind of weight and the shelves started to droop forwards away from the wall. I ended up replacing them with brackets with diagonal support from below. I know it seems obvious that they won't be able to support much weight for what I had intended, but they are designed to hold scaffold board which kind of implies they'll have some real strength.
