5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!!
I'm very happy with this!Even more so that I managed to get it on offer after pondering for months over which colour to choose (brown sugar.)Now I need every single one!It doesn't feel sticky which is a must for me.It smells lovely, also another must.Cruelty free, the most important must! It's also buildable, or you can apply it with the vitamin E core on your lips which mutes the colour a bit. Use the sides for a more pigmented application. This has immediately become my new favourite tinted lip balm.
4.0 out of 5 stars Love the Product Hate the Packaging
The title says it all really. I love the product itself. It behaves more like a lip stain once dry but doesn't dry my lips at all. The 90s neutral is just that, except back then it would've been matte. This is a gloss so obviously it's shiny, but not too shiny. It's a really nice everyday product, fresh looking without seeming too "done." The bad. I hate these new gloss pencils like children's crayons. It's really messy to apply and it's not really a product you can use a brush on due to the core. Since it's so pigmented I wouldn't dare apply it without a mirror. Years ago the body shop had a similar product (it was really crap and dried one's lips like the Sahara) but it was easier to apply since the start had been cut like a lip stick which seems to make all the difference. So to sum up, yes, it's nice but please make it easier to apply neatly.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cherry wood - feels and looks good on darker skin
Works great as balm, my lips did not feel dry at all for hours. Colour is pretty pigmented and shows up as a nice maroon on darker lips.
3.0 out of 5 stars It had melted
I had previously bought a couple of Julep products and was very pleased with them (one of the products I bought for a second time) so I was hoping to be as happy with the lip balm. Although fundamentally a nice product and colour - it had melted when I received it and so I put it in the fridge, where it's still living! I had hoped to be able to carry this around with me when out, to top up during the day as necessary, but I would be too worried to do this.
1.0 out of 5 stars Highly disappointed
I bought this for my sister, and I got the bigger pencil, as there was an offer for a lip pencil 15% bigger. I liked the colour and I bought one for myself. The offer was still on, but I have got a shorter pencil. Sent it back and reordered. Received a shorter pencil.Again sent it back and reordered (offer still on). Got a short pencil.I gave up, kept the shorter pencil, but I am really upset. Not only I won't reorder from this brand as they are misleading and dishonest.
5.0 out of 5 stars Simply The Best
I have spent decades trying to find a lipstick that stays on and is a colour that suits me. This is advised as a lip balm and that is what it is, but the colour is pretty and it stays on for hours. Being a lip balm it stops the lips drying up. From now on I will be using this product.
5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely neutral colour
I really like this. It feels lovely on. Its such a pretty colour & keeps my lips hydrated.I wear lip balm constantly so it's nice to have a tinted one to wear on days I make an effort. I find some lipsticks dry my lips out too much so a tinted balm is definitely better for my needs.I'm becoming a big fan of Julep products.
2.0 out of 5 stars Not a fan
Not a fan. The colour didn’t suit me. A block of product broke off on second application.
Exactly the shade I was looking for
I was nervous from the reviews about it being too pigmented, but I'm glad I still tried for myself. The first pic is a side by side of my bare lip vs the plum julep balm by itself. The second is plum julep with a lip liner, and the third one is how I usually wear it with no liner just a base layer of clear balm under the plum to mute it and hold it in place a little more, but I'm a fan will probably order again
Lip Balm Meraviglioso!
Penso sia diventato ufficialmente il mio lip balm preferito, colora e ammorbidisce le labbra in modo del tutto naturale! Sicuramente comprerò in altre colorazioni.
Lovely Color And Texture! Purchased solely because of reviews!
I ordered Dusty Orchid Shimmer on a whim. I don’t usually spend $14.95 on lip color at this point in my life(I used to buy top of the line make up from department stores). I have to say this is a nice product! It’s worth the money because the color is great and flattering, it’s not sticky nor Does it disappear Immediately after you put it on. The color is buildable, but then it comes off more easily. It’s moisturizing and the color lasts if you don’t go crazy with it. There are several colors I’d love to try. But I think I’ll try this one out for longer than a couple of days before I invest in more. But if you feel like treating yourself to a nice moisturizing lip color, I say go for it with this product! I do use a lip liner with it, as with other, sheer Or moisturizing lip products because I’m 56 and my lip outline can use a little boost to keep it neat and keep the color in place. I used a neutral Sephora lip balm with it and it was fine. The color blended and didn’t look weird. It looked natural but finished in attractive way! I don’t like to include photos with my reviews, but if I was going to, this would be a product that I would take a selfie with (If I took selfies regularly and not just to make sure look OK and then delete the photo). I looked too much like my mom and my dad in selfies for my own comfort, even though I’m MUCH thinner than either of them! Too thin to feel comfortable with random photos of myself. Blah, blah, blah!My point here is that it’s a great product so far and if you want a nice product without going overboard, I highly recommend this. Even without trying it on, and only a photo of the color and some reviews to go on I took a chance and it really was worth it! Normally, I buy Burt’s Bees colored lip balm, but this lip color lasts longer. It doesn’t have the nice minty taste- In fact, it has no discernible taste at all, which I find unusual. No fragrance like Chanel products. No taste like Burt’s Bees etc. Just moisturizing color that stays in place, especially if you use Lip liner because you’re getting a little bit older or you just appreciate a very neat lip outline! 👄Thanks for taking the time to read this review and I hope it helps! I find reviews very helpful so I tried to leave them whenever I’m impressed or terribly disappointed. This one is because I’m impressed!
Non male...
... direi buon prodotto, anche se il colore è un po' diverso. Non ho avuto nessuna allergia post uso.
Hydrating and Colorful, But the Applicator Could Use a Revamp
I was totally pumped to try the Julep Lip Balm after hearing all the hype about its amazing colors and how it's super moisturizing. And yeah, it definitely delivers on the hydration front, but there were a few things that left me wanting more.Pros:Super hydrating: This balm is like a drink of water for your lips. Tons of colors: There's a shade for every mood or outfit. Smooth application: It glides on like butter. Natural ingredients: Vitamin E and good stuff for your lips.Cons:Tricky applicator: It can be a bit finicky to get the perfect line. Shine fades fast: The gloss doesn't last as long as I'd like.Overall, the Julep Lip Balm is a pretty good bet if you're all about hydration and want a pop of color. It's like a comfy blanket for your lips, but the shine doesn't last as long as I'd like. And let's be real, the applicator is a bit tricky. But if you love the colors and don't mind a touch-up every now and then, it's definitely worth checking out.
