I got this after having a GOxlr and a rode procaster for nearly 2 years and wanting something simpler and cleaner.This is so much easier to use than my previous setup, sounds better and costs a lot less.I haven't experienced any software issues like other reviews have said so I would assume they are fixed.Would happily recommend to anyone

Okay so, small time streamer here, mainly for fun.. but I do put a lot of care into my streams appearance/sound. I was hoping the Beacn mic would be a kind of.. Tick all the boxes audio solution for streaming. Out of the box, Very impressive, Build is solid and looks great, everything seems quite premium. Setup was nice and easy, The thread on the mic is actually made to take two different sizes so I could screw the boom arm in without any adapters or such, quite a nice touch. Got the software downloaded and went about setting it up.. Off the bat, the software blew me away.. so many options and such.. the built in mixer was incredible, setting up for stream was like stepping into a different world with all the functionality it had. This is where the dream ended. A few days after getting it setup, I was watching a film on my PC when suddenly.. poof.. silence. Was a bit confused at first but then I've noticed a little "!" over my volume settings in windows, I hover over that to be met with "No audio devices detected." I look to the Mic, the light ring on it is lit up and still doing it's thing.. just.. zero audio. I open the app to see what's going on and it promptly crashes, taking my PC with it. I thought "Okay, software hiccups happen, no worries." I get restarted, go about my day. Two days after that, sat doing some gaming and again.. Poof.. all audio vanishes. I tab out, this time the software didn't crash, but I notice I now have no audio devices to choose from in the software. I decided to restart the software, which promptly caused it to crash.. and I had to restart my PC to get it back. The next day.. decided to do a little impromptu stream.. about 40 minutes into stream and.. you guessed it.. Poof.. there goes the audio again. Except as I was live, I also found out that not only was I no longer hearing anything.. my stream couldn't hear me either.. literally all audio was gone. Again, tabbed out to check the software, and you guessed it again, software crashes.. I had to end stream and restart my PC.At that point, I processed the return via Bolo, and later came here to write this review. On a hardware level.. this microphone is outstanding.. but the software literally makes it useless for a streamer.. and that seems to be part of their whole thing for this microphone? I'd say wait it out for them to get the bugs ironed out but it's not even like this is a new product at this point.. the first reviews of it on YT are from over a year ago.. If the software is still a buggy mess a year in, I'm not sure what to say there? Severely disappointed really, I had super high hopes for this microphone but instead I'm left waiting for a refund. If you're wanting this mic.. I'd say look into it deeply.. I found A LOT of good YouTube reviews, but then in terms of 'real world' reviews.. a lot of people just running into software trouble. Pondered giving it a 2 out of 5 because it did sound amazing.. but then, honestly, what good is sounding amazing when your software will regularly render the microphone as much use as a waterproof teabag? 1 out of 5.

This is a terrible microphone! I'm really not sure what the hype is with it, it made my sound quality terrible - for a live internet radio show. Stick with a good, classic XLR Condenser or Dynamic mic.

I've never had to think about fighting technology as much as I have when dealing with this microphone. Constant wire changes, crashes, bugs that make the mic hiss loudly and headaches as I wonder why my mic has cut out yet again on several different PCs that I professionally stream from.I'd say skip this mic and ignore influencers, genuinely just stay away until the figure out how to get this mic to consistently work. Save and get a better one or aim for a cheaper one that won't crash.On the plus when it does work it sounds great and the community is alright at helping half the time. But that doesn't make up for the product simply giving up because someone sneezed in the same room as it.

Right: I'm going to a take breath before I start ranting about beacn. Are you ready? Bring coffee.... you're gonna need it!Hello,Im here to save you from wasting your valuable money and look for something else.I was an early adopter of the beacn mic and mix create and got brought into the early hype (BIG MISTAKE.) The concept idea is sound, and I personally so wanted these two products from beacn to succeed.However! At £300 (btw which is just the mic not the mixer thats another £202 at the wrighting of this review) its way over priced as the both the beacn and mix create software is far from ready.Firstly Software:I completely understand what they are trying to do here, giving the content creator choices, submixes for streamers etc and much more. If you're not sure what submixes are google it as im not going to explain about it here, simply because if you are looking at this product to buy you should have some basic knowledge of what sub mixes are about.But beacn, why release a un finnished product?The software updates are buggy as hell, constantly crashes even had static noises from the microphone due to a faulty cable you gave me. At this price, that shouldnt happen! Dont even get me started on the recent update forcing you to use system defaults with an ugly big yellow warning on the app if you dare to change to something you want instead! WTF? You never had this before why add it now, the app was working fine before you adding that crap. Also, i have had the app crashing during streams and had to reboot the pc to get the app back to function normally. Scaling is also another issue with the app its never been fixed.They have a road map which explains what they are going to add, like drag and drop, vsts and all that jazz. My main main concern with all these items being added is you're gonna make the app even worse by adding vsts as they are thrid party and will course the app to crash even further then before. For example, heres looking at you elgato wave xlr...!They have a discord.Hmm, discord --- ok --- marvelous. As soon as you mention anything negative towards the products you will have a raving cult chasing after you. I will say they do try and help and fix things but timezones are an issue too for a small company. (That is not there fault.) I will give them one star for trying to help me, but nothing got resolved because they wont fix their app or listen to concerns. I want to make this clear im not out to dig at them as the concept idea is fabulous and I generally had high hopes for both of them. Just let down by terrible software, maybe one day i may return to them both once the software matures.Conclusion:Should I reconmend these products?In its current formation, no. Would you reconmend something else? Yes.At this price mark if you are planning to get beacn mic and mix create go for the rodecaster pro 2. Its much more mature and will have better support. If you can afford the rodcater pro 2, go for the goxlr mini or goxlr. The only down side of those products above, some dont have submixes, but dont take my word for it, if you want it go for it but do you your due diligence first before buying any product.

With some tweaking, it's phenomenal
At time of writing, I've been using this mic for a number of months, both in content creation and in day-to-day things like Microsoft Teams. I have a rather baritone voice and out of the box, the mic did have a shrill sound to it, especially with compression enabled. I had several YouTube viewers comment they really didn't like the sound compared to my old mic. However, one of BEACN's excellent support people actually got on a Discord call with me and we went through EQing the mic to where it now sounds great. He also explained to me how to tweak it further if I want to.This mic's greatest strength is the BEACN App, which gives you full control over the mic, including features like gating and compression that you either need third-party software or an entirely separate hardware mixer for with other mics. The app doesn't get updated as often as I think it should, but it's very stable and once configured, just does it's thing without issue. You can also save your settings directly to the mic's firmware, allowing you to take it between multiple machines and keep all your settings in place.If you're just starting out in content creation, this mic may be higher end than you need, but if you've been in it for a while and really want excellent, granular control over your sound, this is a great option.

Enjoying the product
Switched from GOXLR + XLR mic to Beacn production (same developers, different name) and i am very happy with the software, quality, build and the fact i need only 2 usb ports and no extra cables.Simpified my setup, microphone works amazing and sounds good especially if you know how to configurate it and can work with equalizer. The software on itself is well developed (yes, there are bugs from time to time what ive heard) but i can live with all of that.If you are switching from basic (my case AT2020) mic to this, its the best choice for a buck.

Amazing microphone. Terrible software!
Same reviews as any youtube review of this product, the sound quality in this thing is amazing. I was previously using a Hyper X Cloud 2 headset mic which was already a pretty good headset microphone for the time, but this is just miles better even fresh out of the box.My only complaint is that the software (which is honestly the reason I bought it) just straight up doesn't work. It doesnt like when you put your computer into sleep mode, it doesnt like it when you open the software and you have any other program (especially discord) open, and the only way I've been able to fix it is to go into its file directory and delete my user preferences every time I want to open it, which means I need to spend the time re-setting up my mic filters.If they fix their software at some point in the future this would be an easy 5 star review and a perfect product, but right now it sucks that Im only getting about 3/4 of what I wanted from it. Still a great mic though.
