    The chess set is very beautiful and sturdy. I've had it for months now and have no complaints. The fact that it's wooden but has magnet is super convenient, and the pieces are also beautifully done.

    The chess pieces are nicely carved and the magnets are strong enough, you can hold the board upside down and they stay in place. The box is light and the inside cut out storage is snug and attractive.The only thing stopping this getting a 5 star review is the top is not 100% wood. Instead it is a printed sheet with a plastic film coating that is already curling on the edges. I have used super glue to glue them back in place, hoping that holds them - although you can see the crease from where it curled.A minor point. Some edges have a small angled chamfer and some don’t (which looks odd). One of the chamfers is not even and narrows at one end.Over all I like the board, for its price. I would pay more to get something with more a premium, that was 100% wood. I just haven’t found anything that is 100% wood, folding, strong (enough) magnets and attractive internal storage.

    Bought as a gift. It's magnetic so is good for portability. The board is nicely finished and the ends are numbered making it good for those learning chess from guide books. The chessmen are nicely detailed for the price.

Good storage for the chess pieces.Summary: For this price and the fact that the seller advertise a great surfacr/edges one should not have to receive a new board with defect corners that looks like someone has used it for years.
