5.0 out of 5 stars Very good quality and perfect for gifting
This is a great starter bakeware set that’s very good quality and would make a lovely housewarming gift. You get a baking tray, muffin tray, loaf tin and round cake tin. They are all non-stick and the round cake tin has the added bonus of fitting inside my air fryer. So I tried the round cake tin first in my air fryer and my little biscuits cooked beautifully without sticking, although I did grease the tin a little. I think I’ll use the round tin a lot because of its versatility.I’ve always wanted to try baking bread from scratch so a new loaf tin seemed like the best time to try it. The loaf tin is a good 1lb (450g) size and it baked my oaty soda bread to perfection. It came out of the tin easily and I was delighted to tap the bottom and hear a hollow knock. The tin was so good I used it the day after to make a ginger cake (from a cake mix) and again, it came out of the tin without any coaxing at all.Although I can follow a recipe, I have very little baking skill so it really does help to have good tools and equipment. I am delighted with this KitchenCraft bakeware set and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight but decent quality...
Good quality set of bakeware that arrives (a bit overpacked) in a box that feels heavier and sturdier than the tins do - your first impression is how lightweight these are. That said they don't feel flimsy, they don't flex or bend like you'd expect them to and there's still a sense of good quality despite being so thin and light. You get a useful selection of sizes and shapes primarily meant for baking loaves and cakes but there's only one round sandwich tin which is a bit annoying if you're trying to bake a sandwich-style cake and need two identical layers. The annoying part is that currently KitchenCraft don't seem to offer them separately and so I would have preferred two matching sandwich tins (or a single deep cake tin) and no flat Swiss-roll tin in the set, but maybe that's just me.The non-stick finish is all over, with all surfaces of the bakeware apparently having the same quality of finish. It's a matte-ish finish which does repel most spills and marks but meat juices will still get baked-on and be near impossible to remove, so occasional use of cooking foil might be a good idea. TBH I didn't even check if they were dishwasher-safe and just threw them into the dishwasher without any issue - turns out they are dishwasher safe. If this configuration of tins works for you then they're a good quality set that's easy to use, store and clean.
5.0 out of 5 stars They do the job!
I love baking and have gone through my fair share of bakeware sets that I’ve ended up needing to replace, but these seem to be hard-wearing enough to last. They feel sturdy and are a breeze to clean, I’ve put them in the dishwasher three times so far and they’re still as good as new without scratches or discolouration. The rims are fairly wide so it’s easy to get a solid grip when carrying them, and my cakes and cupcakes come out evenly browned every time. They were on sale for £15.40 at the time of writing this review, which is excellent value for money. Would happily recommend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Decent nonstick, though somewhat thin basic tins
This set comes nicely presented, in an attractively-designed retail box with the pieces individually bubble-wrapped inside. The range offered by the 4 pieces is quite practical as a starter set e.g. for someone moving into their own home for the first time. The quality is OK at the price point. These aren’t the thickest/best quality-feeling tins, but the non-stick surfacing is reasonably effective, and they haven’t warped even when taken up to the hottest temperature they’re rated to withstand (220 degrees C). I’ve done this with the baking sheet and the muffin tin, whilst cooking stuffing and Yorkshire puddings to accompany a roast dinner. The stuffing I made without adding any oil, and it slid easily off the tray, whilst the Yorkshires were bursting happily out of their holes in the muffin tin. Because it’s quite thin, the baking tin in particular is noticeably flexible.I’m probably not likely to use either the loaf tin or the cake tin at such high heats - just because of the different types of thing I’ll use them to cook. The tins seem fine when put through the dishwasher, though dishwasher detergent can play havoc with non-stick coatings over time.At the current pricing of a couple of pence below £28, these work out at approximately £7 per tin - which seems non-dire.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality set
The material feels good since the pans are not super thin. They're fairly thin pans but you need your pans to be this way to ensure your food stuffs cook thoroughly. That being said I found the baking tray and loaf tin are thicker.I cooked banana bread in the loaf tin with great results! It cooked well and allowed my bake to rise well without burning to a crisp. I'm very pleased with this set as it has almost everything I'd need to a variety of bakes all in one handy box. Really useful especially for new bakers or those learning to cook or if you just want some good pans x
5.0 out of 5 stars Great starter kit
This would make a great birthday gift for budding child baker or a starter kit for a student off to uni or just a family on a budget looking to replace old kit.The non-stick metal is good quality, though it does pick up superficial scratches relatively easily - this might spoil the appearance but doesn't spoil the non-stick qualities. They clean easily and are fine in the dishwasher. They are robust enough to not distort too much.
