5.0 out of 5 stars Nice clear picture….
A nice clear picture but shame there’s no anti-vibration included. Still, I bought mine for motorcycle riding which, generally, gives a pretty smooth ride so I still get a good picture. From what I’ve read in the other reviews, pedal cyclists also give a good review of picture quality so perhaps the anti-vibration is not needed so badly. Very easy to use. Simply follow the instructions (although not plentiful, they do show exactly what to do), format the (now supplied) micro card on a computer, I used my iMac, change the date/time text file (yes, it’s that simple) to the current date/time, put the card back in the camera and you’re away. One thing I would point out is that, and this is common to all makers of this cylinder type camera not just Rilai, if you break the clamp that holds the camera, good luck finding someone who can supply a replacement. I did, but it took 2 days of searching the internet (try chilli-tech.com where I’ve bought my spares from). I’ve not taken any stars off this review for this ‘problem’ but potential buyers need to be aware before buying.Apart from this, I’m impressed with the results.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality video, terrible microphone
This is not a GoPro camera and it does not seem to have image stabilization, so on bumpy roads, even when mounted on helmet rather than handlebars, the video will be shaky. That said, the quality of the video is not bad at all and it certainly is good enough for reporting incidents. Some people have said that it is not good enough to read number plates, but that is not what I have found. It is very clear indeed. There maybe issues when moving from a dark lit area to a bright sunshine environment, but again, it's not a GoPro! For the price, it is pretty decent and if you are on a budget, I would certainly recommend it. Just don't hope you'll be able to record any sound whilst you're riding as the wind noise will always be atrocious. Perhaps a small foam cover over the mic might help. P.S. The instructions booklet is written in very poor English, and you are better off looking at what is shown on the Bolo page!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for price.
Cheapest workable one on market. Doesn't look nice on helmet. Good video quality but bad sound. Battery lasts about an hour
1.0 out of 5 stars This is terrible. Don't buy one.
Ok let's start with the good bits.It works with at least a 64gb card. Just as well as the 32gb card supplied won't format or allow writes. It has a battery life of almost 4 hours which is impressive for the size of camera. It's simple to manage and control. A pair of switches under the end cap for changing resolution between 1080p and 720p and between video and photo mode. On the top there is a power button, and a button for stating/stopping video and taking a photo. There is a blue power led and a red record led, and good vibration feedback when pressing the buttons. The bad stuff. There is no way this camera records in native 1080p at 30fps. The video quality is utterly awful.I bought it for handlebar mounting and it is not possible to view the reg plates of vehicles overtaking. And that's in decent daylight. It's hopeless in the dark.I have other cameras that do record in 1080p and 720p and the video quality is so much better. I wasn't expecting a lot from a £50 camera but this is really bad.If you do buy one be aware that the usb socket is fairly nonstandard. It's an obscure Japanese format. As I said earlier, the supplied microsd card is unusable. I have other cards thankfully.I have given this a one star because that's the lowest I can give. I would give it zero if I could
5.0 out of 5 stars Decent dash cam for bikes
The tubular design of the camera means that it fits into a vent on my cycling helmet, held securely in place using one of the supplied velcro straps and a bit of sticky back felt for padding. I haven't used any of the attachments but they look to be decent enough quality albeit a bit on the bulky side.I've also got a motorbike and my intention was to use the camera on both, but I've not found a secure and unobtrusive way of mounting it yet. The handlebar mount isn't suitable due to the faring and I'm not convinced the sticky pad alone is enough to secure it to my helmet, the helmet mount is the pad and two velcro straps that loop through the helmet vents.Picture wise, I've no complaint at all. I cannot comment on low light, but during the day it provides a clear and stable image, definitely good enough to capture registration plates etc. I use a 32gb micro SD card and my average ride of 80 minutes fills about a third of it. It stores the video in separate files on the card of about 3 minutes each, but I believe this can be changed. It is also date and time stamped. The instruction manual isn't brilliant, but there's not much to know anyway.Charging is via a supplied USB cable. A red light on the back indicates charge, but the blue power light also seems to come on when it's plugged in, I tried turning it off when it's charging, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Need instructions
My instructions are in Chinese I need one in English
Stopped working after a few months.
I planned to use this camera to record video while riding bikes. The directions were really poor, but the unit worked ok. After a few months, it would no longer record video, and when switching from single pictures to video, the unit shut off.Today, I reformatted the SD card, reset the unit with a paper clip, and it is working again. If yours stops working try this technique.I could find no way to contact the seller through Bolo.
Came as a lemon - recording light not working
I'll give this camera one more try with a replacement. The first copy I got does everything as instructed (in very broken English), except it doesn't show the red LED when a movie is made. The movie does show up on the memory card afterwards - just no red light. The red light works for photos and during startup, so there is a specific glitch with the movie mode. Need to know when a movie is being made though. Returning.
