5.0 out of 5 stars Quality + performance + value for money
Purchased these pedals to use with X-plane 12 flight simulator as a replacement for my previous rudder/brake pedals which were far too sensitive and at times uncontrollable with smaller GA aircraft. The build quality of Velocity One is so much better. Really solid and comfortable. These pedals are significantly heavier than my previous basic set which, together with the spiked rubber feet, ensure no lateral movement on my carpet. Installation to my flight sim PC by USB was quick and easy. X-Plane recognised the pedals automatically and I fine-tuned the pedal sensitivity to my liking using the response curves within X-plane settings. In my opinion, in terms of quality, performance and price, the Velocity One rudder/brake pedals offer excellent value for money and have added tremendously to the enjoyment of my flight-sim hobby.
5.0 out of 5 stars WOW
Update: I feel it shouldn't be legal to manufacture something and claim that it does X, Y and Z when only X and Y work. For example, the warning lights behind the yoke look great, but they're all permanently lit and don't seem to do anything. Chatter around the Internet is that Turtle Beach are yet to get these functions working!! So you've made a product and it doesn't do what you've marketed it as doing?? That's misleading and surely not legal. That, along with the sticky yoke (it's just not smooth moving back and forth and jerks a little, but I hear it's something that fixes itself over time)..........is the only reason I don't like this system. But there are 100 reasons I do it like also..... Original review below...I’ve wanted this for ages. It was released but sold out quick, then it came in stock yesterday so I didn’t hesitate any longer to buy! Glad I got it! Came earlier today. The set up is easy to follow but takes time because you have to find a suitable place for it to go and then you have to connect cables. Then after plugging into Xbox you’ll end up tweaking some of the controls to suit your needs. For example, on the customisable panel on the throttle quadrant you can programme around 10 buttons I think to do what you want. I set to things like flaps up/down, landing gear, auto pilot, switch from external view to cockpit view etc. so the set up took a while. The flying itself takes a little getting used to if like me you’ve just moved away from using the Hotas One joystick. It’s like learning to drive in a Mini and then buying a Porsche. So many buttons to customise and memorise. But it’s awesome and feels very much like a real plane. Makes this whole set up feel less of a “game” and more of a real flying experience.I can’t recommend this enough. It works on PC as well as my xbox series S. no hassles at all setting up or using. The mrs wanted me to wrap it up for myself for Xmas day. She’s mental! it got opened and used right away… and you will too like a kid on Christmas Day! Enjoy
4.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Precise, Good Looking, Excellent Customisation, BUT........
I purchased this item to receive my first one defective. Throttle L1 was not registering movement upwards from 70% It's would get to that point accurately but beyond that, if move slowly, it did not register any movement. I returned this and bought a second as the return and replace option was only available directly through Turle Beach. A process that can take up to 8 weeks!! Anyway, I returned the first detective item and ordered a second, which I am happy to report works flawlessly. Very accurate and precise with excellent functionality. Lots of axis, toggles, dials and buttons to program and that's not mentioning the additional switches that can be added on the touch screen. The touch screen can be fully customised and you have the ability to name them which is then displayed on the switches/dials. The screen on the stick has a small display which I find useful, but I'm some will feel it's just a little bit gimmicky. The RGB is beautiful and is colour accurate to other devices I own, such as my Corsair K100 keyboard. Just remember to select "Custom" on the selected colour when choosing section to eliminate in the colour of your choice or when you want different colours in different zones.I have used this on Flight Sim 2020 & Elite Dangerous. Both work beautifully and both the stick and throttle are extremely responsive. Just be aware that there is not profile currently for this HOTAS in Flight Sim 2020 or Elite Dangerous. Be ready to have to program this from scratch yourself. There are a few videos on YouTube with help on how to do this. Hopefully there will be a pre-progamed profile in upcoming updates. Fingers crossed 🤞All in all an excellent mid range HOTAS for beginners and enthusiasts alike.*Would have been 5* review if not for the first unit I received being defective. I doubt anyone buying this item will be disappointed as long as they receive a fully working unit.Edit: This H.O.T.A.S. Now has a Fight SIM 2020 profile. Works beautifully. Still only has a very basic setup for Elite Dangerous where you will need to change and configure yourself and some of the settings in the profile conflict with what the button/axis does. Great once set up.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good weight, sturdy and plenty of buttons.
So, I picked up the Velocity One on a total whim, and honestly? I’m kind of blown away. First off, the build quality is solid—like, this thing could probably survive an accidental drop (don’t test that, though). And buttons? Oh, there are buttons. More than I know what to do with, but hey, they’re there if you need ‘em!Now, if you’re sitting there wondering, “Does it do throttle?”—the answer is a big yes. It’s a full package, folks. The whole setup gives me that premium, built-to-last vibe. I did 3D print a desk mount just to lock it down a little better, but honestly, it’s sturdy enough to just plop on your lap if that’s your style.Bottom line: this thing rocks, and I’m super happy with my impulse buy. Highly recommend!
Better than expected
This yoke and throttle quadrant by Turtle Beach has turned out to be better that I expected. I previously used a yoke by CH Products, which was almost useless due to its poor design and quality. The VelocityOne Flight yoke system is much better. I had read that there was a 'stickiness' problem with the yoke shaft causing problems in pitch control. Mine unit has none of that. It works smoothly. When I first received the unit, my computer (and MS Flight Simulator) only recognized the throttle quadrant and did not detect the yoke at all. I thought the unit was defective, but then I suspected that the problem was with the drivers in Windows 10. I updated the drivers that showed up in the Device Manager for VelocityOne but that made no difference. It was only when I updated the two drivers listed under "xBox controller", which only appear when the unit is plugged in, that the yoke was recognized and it then worked exactly as it should. I highly recommend this system for use with Flight Simulator.
Amazing HOTAS for the price
(Bought on sale)I have owned this HOTAS for a few weeks at this point with regular use in combat flight simulators (DCS World, War Thunder), and I can confidently say that this is an amazing HOTAS system for the money, Turtlebeach really outdone themselves with this product. The build quality is amazing and all the buttons and switches function perfectly. However, and this was stated quite a lot before me- The three switch covers on the Joystick base feel loose and wobble on the metal switch arm itself- However for me it is not an issue at all._Stick_Pros:- Stick grip is very ergonomic and fits most hand sizes with the sliding feature.- A lot of programmable buttons, switches, HAT switches, joysticks and rotary switches.- Build quality is amazing for the price.- Very satisfying buttons and switches.- Very responsive gimbal.Cons:- Pretty useless screen ontop of the stick- "Mouse" feature on the pickle button is very rough and unresponsive, as well as also being useless as it is right now with how choppy it is._Throttle_Pros:- Very accurate throttle readings.- Extremely smooth throttle sliding.- "Fire" button extremely satisfying to press (personal opinion)- Many useful buttons, HAT switches, 3 position switches and joysticks all over the throttle grip.- Split throttle feature, can prove useful in certain twin-engine aircraft.- Useful programmable screen (Can make your own switch panel using keyboard bindings in the software) that makes use of digital switches, dials and buttons.- Satisfying knobs and dials near the throttle gripCons:- Never found a use for the "flap" lever as no game I tried recognizes the lever moving (as an axis), instead recognizing the switch clicks on the bottom and top of the travel- Touch screen is pretty low framerate and can wash out at certain angles.Overall, I really recommend buying this HOTAS system as it is a great product overall and you get an amazing system without breaking the bank like some of the more higher end HOTAS out there by Thrustmaster, Winwing, Etc. And you get a lot for what you pay which is always a big plus!.and I really recommend buying the Turtlebeach Rudder pedals along with this HOTAS system for an immersive flying experience!.
Great product for the price
I’ve had the turtle beach hotas for 8 months. Fly dcs and MSFS. Still working great love all the extra buttons. I don’t fly much fly just rough 5 hours a week.
Great stuff!
I really like them! They feel sturdy and well built. They are great for MS Flight Simulator on my PC, which is why I bought them. They are not small: it takes a fair amount of real estate under my desk. One thing I wonder is if dust and cat hairs will accumulate in the uncovered slot (where the pedals slide) and cause issues at some point. I guess I need to vacuum my office regularly !
Super
Excelente producto, me ayuda mucho al simulador
