5.0 out of 5 stars Pound for pound....Excellent
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I bought this as a bit of a distress purchase as the battery on my Surface Pro started acting up and randomly closing the unit down. So at under £150.00 with a black Friday discount and next day delivery, I took a punt.I have a garden office and usually link my tablet to a monitor, but when the weather goes downhill, sometimes I work in the kitchen and do not want cables draped everywhere. The appeal of this was the battery life as my work simply revolves around Office 365. I need Outlook, Word and Excel, a bit of casual browsing and not really much else. This unit does the job just fine and the battery life is excellent. As I type I am just under 50% and showing 7.5 hours remaining. If you want a reasonably basic, but functional PC that you can use all day, then this is fine. The track pad is accurate, keyboard responsive, the screen is bright, not the very best, but what on earth can you expect for the money. If you want a PC for gaming or memory intensive video editing, spend more money. If you just want Office, email, a bit of youtube, web browsing and playing local files, this is just fine.
5.0 out of 5 stars Have reasonable expections and you'll be happy with this
If you can get these for under £150 they're a steal. They run the full fat version of Windows 10 pro (can be upgraded to 11), and if you're playing legit an official Windows license normally that would cost over £100. When you think of it like that these laptops really are cheap. They work fine as long as you're not pushing them too hard. We use them as pool laptops, so they mainly run a remote desktop session, but sometimes people will use them for office tasks such as teams or Outlook and they handle all that fine.Battery life is great and they're a fairly robust construction, the Dynabook website is pretty good for getting driver updates too which is a plus.
4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for general use
I own a gaming PC and a Gaming Laptop, I wanted a laptop like this Toshiba Dynabook for just general usage or for plugging into a spare monitor or TV to watch movies and shows so I can free up my gaming laptop. This little laptop isn't the fastest on the planet but does exactly what is wanted.Pros:*Light in weight*Decent little screen on it*Low price, even when new*Comes pre-installed with Windows10*Does NOT have tonnes of bloatware installed on it*Long lasting battery*Feels well madeCons:*Definitely won't play games*Specs for it are low, but it isn't difficult to upgrade the RAM and SSD for it*SSD is 120gb, Operating system and default applications take up almost half of that*RAM is 4gb, can be easily upgraded to something more capable if desired.Overall I'm really happy with the laptop, for my purposes it's perfect. It feels light and comfortable to carry, it feels well made, it is small enough that it isn't going to be a pain to carry around in a bag but not too small that it's uncomfortable to use. It's a nice little general use laptop that'll play video media, browse the Web and to do some work on.If you need a larger SSD and improved RAM, there's videos online showing you how to upgrade these. So far as I can tell, you can't upgrade the CPU but again, for what this laptop is designed for, why would you?I'll be opening it up in the next few weeks to install better RAM and probably a larger SSD but for the price, it's not bad. This laptop is certainly worth a try if you're just looking for something to use for general use.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Laptop That Peerforms Well + Upgradable
This is a great little laptop for either the younger school kids who need a laptop for school projects - or - the avarage person who only wants to do a bit of surfing on the internet or basic word processing and / or watching videos. The colours on screen are good. The laptop starts quite quickly and operates fast enough to not leave you hanging around for pages or programs to load.I ahve the full Office package working on this alptop, as well as storing a few videos and family photos. The laptop itself is upgradable with both memory and hard drive size - somehing which can increase storage if you store lots of photos or videos. The battery life is fair and the size of the laptop itself meets most folks needs.
5.0 out of 5 stars Simple laptop, very good UK keyboard, very long battery life
Simple laptop, very good UK keyboard, very long battery life, tested to just over 10 hours with no issues, its a good price,128GB SSD is small but you you can simply use a micro SD card for extra storage if required ,Used for just a few basic programs such as office etc, An ideal laptop for kids homework with its clear eye friendly screen, 2 USB ports .far better than the ones for sale from China that have unpronounceable names and quality issues. yes its a celeron chip but this works well for this laptop. We have bought 4 of this type of laptop for the kids homework, Highly recommended.
1.0 out of 5 stars Dead on arrival - painful return process!
This is now the second of these laptops I’ve bought. The first one, although cheap and cheerful works pretty well. Not the best screen quality, and can be slowish, but for this price point, it’s not bad value. So I bought a second one for my daughter for Christmas.Sadly it was dead on arrival, which isn’t the end of the world, as these things happen. However, trying to get this returned has been a load of hassle.I don’t have a printer, and all of the return options require the buyer to print out - and most painfully PAY for tracked, insured postage.I spoke to Bolo customer services, who frankly aren’t interested and indeed when I asked for this to be escalated to a supervisor - said there was nothing more they could do and terminated the call and chat!!!Real shame, as the original machine I have from this seller is really good. However, I will not be buying again, as paying for my own return (admittedly Bolo did say I could claim this back) and arranging my own delivery and printing a label (despite not having a printer as I told Bolo three times) is like going back in time 20+ years.Shame on you Bolo.
