5.0 out of 5 stars hair feels super soft and smooth
My hair is naturally corse and gets oily roots and dry ends due to bleaching. So to be on the safe side I chose the colour free version of 'Glaze' so an uneven coverage wouldn't effect my colour. It didn't come in a box? Unsure if it was meant to have instructions but it didn't either, so I lathered it on after shampooing and left it about 5mins before rinsing. It did the business hair feels softer and more manageable.I'm re-writing this review to add WOW! 3 weeks of using this product once per week and my hairs in amazing condition it'd really nourished, not coarse anymore it's like I've had it professionally styled when I've been styling at home due to hair being so much more manageable. I'd say this is better than Opalex by miles and alot cheaper too!!
1.0 out of 5 stars NOT COPPER DO NOT USE
I recently died my hair ginger/copper and have been looking for something to refresh the colour in between dying. I saw this advertised and thought the colour seemed pretty decent, and the added benefit of shine and gloss would be the cherry on top. I used it on my hair for 5 minutes (I shampooed my hair and let it sit whilst I washed/shaved, and made sure it was evenly distributed), and ended the shower having fire truck red hair… not exactly ‘copper’ as advertised. If you are looking for a RED hair mask, and aren’t adverse to brighter/less ‘natural’ hair colours on yourself then I would say this product works great. But if you’re looking for something with a natural, copper finish - then this isn’t the product for you. I have washed my hair 4 times and it is now FINALLY getting back to a natural ginger shade, instead of the red that I was left with. NOTE: be careful around ears/hair line/hands as this definitely stains, and make sure you brush the product through thoroughly otherwise patchiness WILL show
3.0 out of 5 stars Lustrious ebony (blue black)
As u can see from my photo it's not suitable for blonde/bleached hair.I had brown roots with blonde mids/ends..And my hair went blue on bleached parts, with darker brown roots..NOT BLUE BLACKBut it wasn't the products fault..i didn't read instructions ..I washed my hair 20 times with clarifying shampoo and the blue wouldn't budge but the colour washed off my rootsSo i added some pink to make the blue purple. So id say permanent on bleached hair...As for blue black on medium brown roots i would say FAIL.still looked brown not black. And omg talk about hard to squeeze out the bottle...I'd recommend putting product in bowl..Overall im happy with the colour but it's not what i was wanting to begin with...One last thing is my hair which is dry and damaged felt and looked so much better even after all the washes...So it's a brilliant conditioner..Good luck...READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for coloured hair
I have now used Glaze for over a year I find that it sharpens the colour of my hair, particularly if it's coloured or highlighted. It's easy to apply, and wash off about 5 - 10 mins later. I find it good value for money, and it gives my hair extra softness and a boost to the cooler.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good result but very thick formula
I did get decent results, it definitely toned my highlights well and got rid of the brassiness. However, it is an absolute nightmare to get out of the bottle!! The formula is so so thick, it literally won't squeeze out at all. I've even resorted to taking the lid off totally but even then it hardly wants to come out at all. It's an absolute pain to use. I would also say it's a very small bottle and if you have medium/long/thick hair you are realistically only going to get 4 uses out of it, so its very expensive for what it is.
2.0 out of 5 stars Makes no difference
Packaging as per other reviews is rubbish. Product doesn’t come out and lots is wasted because of the shape of the bottle.I’ve used this three times now and makes absolutely no difference to my hair (long, thick). Would not recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Brassy to classy! Haha
Not sure why there’s negative reviews. This did exactly what I expected, my tired out yellowing blonde has gone to a beautiful creamy blonde tone and I am really pleased with the results. I used honey blonde, it was dark going on and I was a little concerned initially, but it’s washed out lovely. The only issue is the bottle is really hard work to empty! Would still buy it again.
5.0 out of 5 stars Glossy and soft
This was a great item and will buy againLeft my hair really softOnly critic is that was tough to get out of the bottle
Honestly wow !
I bought this product because I got highlights this February and was desperate for a tone and gloss, but didn’t have time to go to a salon so I decided to give this a try. I am completely amazed. My highlights were brassy orange. After using this product they became caramel brown. It looks amazing. Totally recommend this product.
Gorgeous shade and shine
I had baby lights + balayage done over 6 months ago and I have dark brown hair. I also get a lot of grey hairs and I need to keep doing root touch ups at the salon. So I decided to box dye my hair brown but it didn't have enough warmth and I got this as a toner. Washed my hair, towel dried but it was still wet. Sectioned my hair, put a lot of this product in and wore processing cap on top. I kept the toner in my hair for over 30 minutes and washed it off followed by conditioner and leave-in products that I normally use. Wow, the results are amazing. No more orange streaks (my grey roots turned out orange from box dye but this toner fixed it) and mids/ends are nice.Warning: it does say not to use this on bleached hair but I took a leap of faith and did it. Worked for me but YMMV. I'd say if your highlights are more blonde than mine, you would need to put a red toner first and then whatever else.
Nice colour
So glad this product is available in Canada through Bolo. It arrived fast and was as advertised on the Glaze website. It did not cover my grey hairs but did seem to blend them nicely. It is very quick and easy to reapply, I won’t mind doing it more often. Is definitely better than colour with developer - smells better, no mixing, shorter processing time (10 min).I hope full range of colours will be available soon.
Works and smells good
Wish the bottle was bigger. It's the 3rd product I have tried. Others sting my scalp and smell horrible so this is a nice change.Highly recommend
Amazing color, excellent shine and softness!
I had been to the salon about 2/3 months ago - twice - and was thoroughly unhappy with my results (once for the first session, second time for the correction). I went in for a purple ombré but instead received toned roots and a smattering of purple on my mid-lengths-ends leaving me looking like I was trying to grow out an old dye job… It can be a challenge finding a stylist that you jive with in a smaller town… I wasn’t ready to dish out the bucks to get my hair re-done somewhere else yet again so I did some research on alternatives. I am not new to color depositing masks, conditioners or washes. I was in love with Moroccan Oil’s color depositing masks at one point, but they didn’t quite leave my fine hair feeling soft and the deposit washed out a little too quickly, unlike Glaze’s product! I can say with confidence that Glaze’s Sleek Espresso is worth every penny. It took my purple stained ends and level 5/6 medium/light brown hair to a beautiful level 3 dark brown throughout. I can still see some of the purple peeking through my ends which is fine since color can’t lift color, but it’s effectively made it less noticeable. I couldn’t believe how even the color came out all over my head. It’s extremely soft and healthy looking too.I would 1000% recommend wearing gloves while applying and instead of using it like a conditioner or mask (like I did, in the shower), apply it like you would a mixed semi-permanent hair dye, emptying the contents into a bowl first, wearing an old raggedy shirt with an old raggedy towel around your neck - old school style. The process is messy and your hands will get stained, though I am glad to report that it did NOT stain my tub or the skin around my face/neck/ears. I left it in my hair for around 15 minutes. Washing it out was easy and the washed out pigments did not stain my tub either. Now, I don’t have a whole lot of hair and it is quite thin, so one bottle could easily last me about 2/3 months, so for me personally this product is worth it. I am hooked!
