5.0 out of 5 stars Gets five stars on its very reasonable price - but grind is a bit coarser than some machines
I was looking for a budget grinder and this one came up as an alternative to models by Salter and Krups. The price was over £20 less and the specs and promotional material looked quite good so I decide to give it a go.This particular model seems to be being offered under several different brands. I suggest you buy the Fohere version, and not the rather similarly designed alternative brandings which all seem to be a good deal pricier. When you factor in the low selling price there is no doubt that this machine is a genuine bargain. It is surprisingly well made and robust, while being extremely easy to clean and operate. Basically you set the quantity and grind texture, then push a button and 10 seconds later you have ground coffee.I found that the coarsest grind is way too coarse so have taken to setting it up for "drip coffee" although I am actually using a cafetiere to brew. This seems to produce pretty good results, and as I'm unlikely to need an espresso level of fine grind the possible limitation on being able to grind a really fine powder isn't a problem for me... but it might be worth investigating if you are intent on making lots of espresso. I don't doubt it can grind fine enough to make espresso - but if you wanted the very finest grind, based on what I saw, I think it might struggle a bit.So overall I'm a satisfied customer, and if you also want a cheap basic grinder then this model is going to take a lot of beating. Based on what I have heard the Krups machine probably can achieve a slightly finer espresso grind, but that machine also has other limitations, and it is a fair bit more expensive, so overall I think this one has proved a better compromise for me.The final proof is after all the coffee one can make, and the end results from this machine taste great.Recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very quick
This grinder really works very well. Grinds beans up really quickly and effortlessly. Noise level is minimal and it is really easy to clean. Fabulous grinder and not too bulky either.
4.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what I want it to.
This grinder is perfect, for the money. It is surprisingly quiet, grinds ok and for me it's exactly what I needed to make decent filter coffee at home. That said, it is not a professional grinder. The grinds, whilst not terrible, are not exactly uniform. If you're making cafetiere coffee, or drip coffee, you probably won't notice it too much. If you're making pour over or mocha pot, you'll notice immediately as the flavours from extraction are more pronounced. Also, weirdly in the description, it mentions that this machine is not recommended for espresso, but it then says espresso futher on. I would like to clarify that this is absolutely not an espresso grinder. It's just not precise or fine enough. Another oddity is that the grind adjustment (stepped) has indicators for french press, but then on a finer grind, cafetiere. My guess is that it's meaning something like a V60. I would have really liked to see replacement burrs for sale too, as I don't like the idea of chucking it out just because the burrs wear down. Overall, if you're buying ground coffee and want to enjoy freshly ground; or if you want to upgrade from a hand grinder or a blade grinder and get decent results for little money, then this is for you. It's not perfect, but coffee beans go in and ground coffee comes out.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great tasting coffee
I bought this when my wife inadvertently bought coffee beans and not ground coffee. (More of a joke gift than a serious one). But I am glad I did. This was quite inexpensive (in comparison to other electric coffee grinders) and quite compact (to hide away when not in use). It works perfectly grinding coffee - we like our coffee with a big flavour and buying beans gives more flexibility than buying pre-ground coffee (more selection in the supermarkets). Of course, it is a little time consuming (only a little) and can be a bit messy, but we really like the end product and can keep going for a few weeks with a 1kg bag of coffee beans. There are different settings on this (for both coarseness of the grinds and the volume from one grinding) and it does not spill too much if you do it right - just takes a few goes as most is user error related! Also, as a side-benefit, as you grind, you get that wonderful aroma of freshly ground coffee that you can get from the high street coffee chains, in your own kitchen. So, yes, really please with my 'joke' purchase and the end result justifies the means and cost! A coffee-lovers delight!
1.0 out of 5 stars Grrrr coffee grinder

5.0 out of 5 stars Good customer service, good product
The machine is good, I had a problem with grind level, I wrote a review here and they contact me and help to fix it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Super effort saver
I like this it’s the first one I bought after grinding beans with a hand grinder for years so still a bit of a novelty. It’s a bit loud but does the job.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not for Espresso.
It does not grind fine enough for espresso. Even on full setting, the grind is still a little too coarse which reduces the flavour. It is also rather inconsistent in the grind, you can see the variation in the output clearly. That said, I found the noise level to be quieter than my previous grinder. It is fast. Easy to clean, and the variety of setting for grinding (other than espresso) was excellent. I used a french press and my old drip machine and the grind was excellent. Excellent value also given these provisos.
