Used these in my life class. Nice hardness for me, though not all the same. They blend and smudge well. Excellent value. As all sets, should have more whites.

Last time I bought soft pastels they ended up needing a tin of rice to restore their colour - though it couldn't reassemble the bits they arrived in! These are actually tightly held in foam with padding on the top - the tin did look like it had been stepped on -and I figured they would also be dust - but they were fine, and the dent in the tin pushed back out - only for my use and not a present so I'm just pleased to have got rid of the need for a wretched tin of rice flapping around my desk to keep pastels in :)

After years of doing watercolour and acrylics I decided to try soft pastels for quick studies mainly outdoors. I think the Montmarte ones are great. Nice range of colours in the set, soft and creamy consistency, blends well on the paper. Whats not to like?

These are fantastic for building colour and being square halo with the sharper edges and smaller marks. I’m a complete novice with pastels - but everyone in my class has been really impressed with these too!!!

I use pastels a lot in mixed media work and for life drawing.I wanted a smaller set to carry easily to art sessions so ordered these as I have the same in the larger size.These seem slightly different quality, they're very soft. They certainly seem that bit softer than the previous pack, maybe the product has changed slightly?The colours are good and there's a good range for the price.Thanks for reading, I hope you find this review helpful.

Con poco pigmento cubres mucha zona y se mezclan muy bien los colores. Muy recomendable.
