I bought this machine to replace my 22 year old Magimix Nespresso machine, so it had some impressive shoes to fill. I'd used l'Or capsules in my old machine and been really impressed with the taste and quality. After using it for six months now, I think this is an excellent machine. The capacity of the XXL pods to make a good sized mug of coffee is what gives it an edge over other machines on the market. It's easy to clean and has a decent water reservoir, isn't excessively noisy or messy. The only thing I would consider an improvement would be if it had a bigger container for the used capsules, but this isn't really a major issue. While it doesn't feel as substantial as my previous machine, it still represents great value for money and performs as well or better as much more expensive machines, with reasonably priced capsules that work out at about the same cost to me as buying jars of instant. A must buy for anyone who enjoys a bigger cup of great-tasting coffee.

I paid £50 for this along with some sample coffee pods. You can also use XXL pods if you want a bigger drink which I like. Coffee temperature could be a little hotter but it's acceptable.

Bought this to replace a Tassimo machine - we felt that the tassimo capsules were very limited in choice and expensive compared to the Nespresso ones.I bought this a while ago, but thought I should come back and do a review now that it's been in use for a while. I picked this one because I wanted the choice of using the XL capsules too, if required.It does what it says on the tin - it's a basic enough machine with nothing much to confuse users - there are three buttons, Ristretto, Expresso and Lungo. if you want more water, you can press the button again, and again to stop.The water reservoir is a decent size, and I find myself filling it less frequently than the previous machine.Overall, I can't find any cons - I chose the one without the milk frother as it didn't seem to be value for money. I bought a separate frother instead (this one - https://amzn.eu/d/0ck590lI).I'm enjoying the variety that the Nespresso capsules provide and won't ever go back to Tassimo!

My old coffee machine died and I needed a replacement. This was cheap and does the job. I use compatible pods even though there was nothing wrong with the L'or ones.It's easy to use.It heats quickly.It's not too loud.However, my only slight niggle is that you can't change the cup sizes and the biggest of the 3 settings is still too small. With my old machine you could hold down the button to make it fill the exact cup size and that was remembered each time.In fairness that was a more expensive machine but there are 3 sizes and the biggest doesn't fill a normal sized coffee cup! The photo is a small cup with the largest size coffee in.I would buy again overall as the cup size is a small gripe and you can just press the button again!

I was looking for a machine that would take original Nespresso pods, because they are more reasonably priced than most. I had bypassed this machine a number of times because I thought it was too much with the double nozzle - then spotted it on offer one night and bought one as a gift and one for myself - it is awesome!!Smart looking (love the red), a decent sized reservoir, the simplest operation and love the fact I can pre-set my preferred dose of each size coffee.The tasting selection is great, I went on to order 150 varying L'or original pods which have all been extremely good. But i've also used Nespresso, Starbucks, various compatible aluminium pods and the plastic versions too and so far out of probably 300 assorted pods I have only had one fail.It has a slower pour than some machines, but the plus side of that is a very hot cup of coffee - I find Tassimo and Dulce Gusto machines made fairly tepid drinks in comparison, where the L'or Barista is perfect.I have read a few reviews suggesting it is noisy - it's a coffee machine...it's going to make a noise! Just like a kettle isn't silent!So all in all this machine is so, so good for the money - on offer it's a bargain!
