5.0 out of 5 stars Super fine sanding discs
The Kcmell Mesh Sanding Discs arrived as described and look just like the advertised photos.I got these to use on my Radius360 Sanding Tool, it fit well and made the job of sanding much easier. These discs are 80 grit which, to be honest, I didn't know what this meant when I ordered it. It's basically a super-fine sanding disc. It's great for the final touches of a wall but you'd need something stronger if you're sanding walls that are very uneven. From doing research the lower the grit number the coarser the grit therefore the easier it is to remove imperfections. This being the case this "80 grit" should be rather abrasive but I don't find that to be true. I would say this is a super fine grit but then again I am no expert but just thought it was worth mentioning. I used a 40 grit and it felt very abrasive so to me this should have been similar but it's not it's more of a buffing tool than sanding in my opinion.Still it held up very well and helped a lot with a DIY project I was doing. I would recommend this product and would be keen to see what other reviews are on the coarseness.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great discs
I use lots of sanding discs when undertaking woodworking jobs. Typically I would use standard Aluminium Oxide abrasive papers, however I have been trying out sanding meshs lately and am finding that they are probably the way ahead for the future. When hooked up to an extractor, the mesh allows a much greater volume of air to be sucked through the disc improving collection hugely. I have pro level sanders and extractors which are pretty good with standard paper, but with mesh pads they are excellent - there is hardly any dust expelled into the air in the room you are working. In addition to the improved extraction, the abrasive seems to last significantly longer as well: partly due to there being less dust on the surface but the actual abrasive is more durable too. These discs while not quite as good as the premium brands are certainly up there in terms of quality, they are aggressive but not overly so and leave a very even surface. They are more expensive that standard abrasive discs but if your budget stretches, I would recommend trying out these discs.
5.0 out of 5 stars Work well to sand plasterwork, wood - doesn't clog, good extraction
I'm never going back to paper backed sanding material again. Having used sandpaper with and without perforations, the dust extraction depends on decent air flow. So why not have more holes than backing(almost) and get full dust extraction. That's what these offer. They are a little more expensive than the paper backed but a good deal less than the M branded stuff, albeit they don't last quite as long. The mesh also doesn't clog up with dust so they continue to cut for longer, reducing time spent changing discs. I plan to try these cut down for friction bowl sander which uses 2" and 3" discs meaning I'll get at least 2 or possibly 4 discs out of each 6 inch disc, further reducing the price. The instruction is to use sandpaper like someone else is paying for it. Thankfully these aren't too painful on that count.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good mesh discs
I do wood turning as a hobby and only recently got to use Abranet mesh, and was so impressed I wish I found it years ago. These are a very good third party mesh disc that does a good job too and has the same benefits of not clogging due to the mesh nature of the pads where sandpaper does. Can't really comment on how long they last compared to the branded Abranet material - I dare say the proper Abranet will last a bit longer, but I think it's still good enough value to be worth these than pay the extra. Overall I'm pleased with this version.
3.0 out of 5 stars Average
There ok, but not as good as Mirka. But for the price they're ok, you get want you pay for
5.0 out of 5 stars Better than normal discs
These were bigger than my DeWalt palm sanding disc size but took seconds to trim to size. Using on damaged repaired plaster these work better than my previous sandpaper type discs.
1.0 out of 5 stars Wish I had read the other reviews-save your money the are crap
Tried these as I wanted to finish a job and the mirka branded product were going to take longer to arrive, wish I had waited they just don’t last, and take very little off when they are new. Don’t bother!!!
4.0 out of 5 stars Good value for money
These arrived in plain plastic packaging.I do a lot of woodworking and I use 3M Cubitron sandpaper along with Mirka Abranet sandpaper on my Mirka sander. This sandpaper is very similar to the Mirka Abranet paper both in colour, quality and thickness.I tested this on oak hardwood using the Mirka sander and considering the price it was pretty good. I used a festool dust extractor connected to the Mirka and it was able to capture a lot of the dust. If I compare this to the 3m Cubitron it's not even close, but considering the price this is hard to argue with.Once I get to use it for a prolonged period I'll update this review if the results are any different. However, considering the price and quality, I think this is a pretty good price.
