5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed.
Bolo's quick delivery as always. The shelf unit is exactly the size I needed. Just one of this odd small places just waisted. Unit is exactly as described, size is perfect. Maybe instructions not for everyone's like. But whole process is quite simple. You build shelfs to the one side then goes 2nd side. All together 25 min top. Nailing the back most time consuming. All screws fitted where they should. Unit seams heavy and sturdy even though not mounted to the wall yet. Looking good, happy with the purchase.
4.0 out of 5 stars Bookcase tower
Very sturdy bookcase, good quality oak, fits well in any room or corner. Easy assembly of unit. Worth the money!
5.0 out of 5 stars Easily put 2gether look great
Love how easy to put 2gether and really strong. Only 1 spare screw and dowling so be careful when building it. Only difficult part was putting the backing on as had to be lined up properly. I found it easier to put the sticky circle to hide screw whilst making it, rather than leave till last. I got 2 one either side of fire place. Holds lots of books and ornaments. Had lots of comments how nice they look, asking where I brought them. Definitely recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good value
Great value, cheep and cheerful! Easy to assemble tho the back panel instructions could have been clearer as one of the panel has a hole where you put the screw however the others you have to nail through yourself which is easy enough just confusing as it makes you think you’re not supposed to be putting a nail through it as theres no hole like the top panel had .
3.0 out of 5 stars Good end result after a little extra effort
I had pretty low expectations of this after reading the mixed reviews, but it was the only thing I'd come across that would fit perfectly in the little alcove-within-an-alcove I wanted it for, and between Bolo's ever varying prices and a promotional voucher I got it for well under half the usual price so it seemed worth a shot. Despite all the issues below I'm very pleased with the end result, especially considering how little I paid. It seems sturdy once built and should be fine to support the weight of as many books as you can fit into it, although I'm using it for DVD/Blu-ray box sets myself, leaving my original bookcase free for the few paper books I've kept since moving to Kindle. Once 'doctored' a bit it actually looks good too, sitting in my little home office alcove. If I hadn't had to do some creative assembly and some cover-up work to get it looking that way, it would have been 5 stars, but I can't justify more than 3 stars due to the poor finish and lack of quality control, especially taking into account the full RRP.First impressions on opening the box weren't great, I could immediately see a chip out of the black finish at the corner of one shelf, along with a scratch along the front edge of it, and what looked like a lot of marking but actually turned out to be mostly dust on many of the other panels. Having wiped away the dust I could still see a few greasy looking marks on the side panels if the light caught them just right, but knowing that wouldn't happen where I planned to put it, I went ahead with putting it together. The shelf with the chipped corner I used for the bottom panel, chip downwards so it's against the floor and can't be seen. The black was peeling away slightly at one corner of a side panel too, a dab of glue sorted that.Putting the side panels and shelves together was the work of a few minutes. Don't be tempted (as some reviewers seem to have been!), to use a hammer on the dowels, they push in easily by hand and then it's just a matter of adding the screws which also have pre-drilled holes. The backing panel was the time consuming bit as it came in 5 separate pieces which all had to be nailed on. Forewarned by previous reviews, and thinking myself that the provided nails looked a bit heavy duty for the job, I used my own finer panel pins for the most part and managed to avoid any damage - one at each corner and one in the middle of each vertical side is enough per panel. One good part of this kit is the three little brackets provided to go along the join of each pair of panels, which add a good bit of rigidity. You do need to use the nails provided when attaching those as the nail head needs to be big enough not to go right though the hole in the bracket.I got the black version as I said (and noticed my hands were going black as I built it, so wouldn't advise trying to clean it with anything other than a dry cloth despite the instructions saying a slightly damp one is fine, or the colour seems likely to come off!) and unlike the photos the back panel provided was black on one side, brown on the other - that was fine as I put the black side facing inwards and the brown side at the back where it's against the wall. However the side edges of the panel were also brown, which didn't look so great when viewed from the side and you could also see a tiny bit of bare wood at the edges of some of the shelves where they met the side panels. Five minutes with a black marker sorted both those issues, I've included both before and after pics. The stickers provided to cover the screws don't stand out too much in the black version, although you do see a little shine off them if the light catches them.So basically, if you can pick it up cheap and are willing to do a little bit of extra work to fix any imperfections, this is a decent buy. I wouldn't pay full price though, just due to what seems to be poor quality control.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great small bookcase at a great price
This bookcase fit perfectly in my daughter’s small bedroom. I wasn’t expecting much for the price but it was really easy to put together using the screws included I did it single handily and it is really sturdy.
4.0 out of 5 stars Easy assembly
Easily assembled. It says 2 person build but I'm 71 and disabled but managed on my own. Perfect for books and dvds. Cheap and cheerful if you want better quality you need to pay more money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice item
Bought for my daughters bedroom to store her box. Lovely little item and good quality finish.
