    Our dogs cool mat had seen better days and we needed a new one on a budget. Saw this and ordered it.Like some that have bought it, my first impressions weren't great. It's completely material and pretty thin. Nothing like previous one, which was a gel filled one.But looks can be deceiving!!Upon unpacking it felt cool to the touch, but once it's completely laid flat the coolness is very noticeable.Our dog didn't take to his previous cool mat immediately, but he was straight on this one and lying on it in minutes!! And it's big enough for him to stretch out too.Very impressed! Great value for money. Feels like it will last for ages and its washable too! And being thinner than others it'll be easy to pack away .

    Edit May 2024: I meant to edit my review last year but forgot, so apologies.During the hot weather last year, I found these mats in the cupboard and put them out again for my dog. He loved them. One on his side of the settee and one on his night bed. They definitely helped him to chill and I was surprised how cool to touch they were in relation to the adjacent area. They have washed well and dry quickly.They have been in use again during the recent hot weather - that is what prompted me to update my previous poor review to reflect how useful they really are - and of course, value for money.I got the size medium brown for my cairn size dog. It doesn’t really meet mine - and probably his - expectations. It is a thin mat with a silk-like feel on the topside with the flat bubbles. It momentarily feels cooler when touched but body heat then tends to warm that area of mat. If the hand is removed and the mat touched again, it momentarily feels cooler but soon loses the cool feeling.I bought two - one for his night bed upstairs - and one to put on his side of the settee where he lounges during the day. Yes, he lies down on the mats and sleeps but he’ll doze anywhere, anytime so I don’t think the mats make much of a difference, to be honest.To my mind, they are similar to the coolness felt when touching cotton bedding - initially cool but not long lasting.I did note the price for the brown increased steeply within 48 hours of purchase. Shame because I was going to give the mats one last chance by buying the large option to see if that made a difference to my dog’s comfort in his night bed. I’m not prepared to pay so much more for something I’m not convinced works. I don’t feel I can recommend this item. I’m sure my dog would agree with me.

    This is not a cooling mat, it is basically a cheap piece of material. There is no cooling gel in the mat. I do not recommend this.

    I bought this during the summer for my kitten. It could just be him being fussy but he layed on it once and has never gone on it since.

    I have had a few different 'cool' mats etc for my lil dog, but this is not only brilliant & cooling, it can be washed (if needed) & does not contain any gel that could leak. I have the twin pack, one stays on the end of my bed & one stays in the lounge. The size is good too, my girl is a cavapoo & there's plenty of space. Good price, good product, happy dog!!
