5.0 out of 5 stars My Vet was impressed
At the start of a very long road ahead and possible surgery for Will. Torn Cruciate Ligament. Multiple injections, medication and alternative therapies daily for several weeks. This brace has helped him tremendously and Wills Veterinary Surgeon was impressed on the design and support it was giving to help Wills pain and aid his walking which is very limited atm. I trust my Vets opinion. Sizing is not accurate but common sense with knowledge of your breed of dog should help you decide which brace to purchase. I purchased one size down to the actual measurements of Will and it fits perfectly. Cost ? Expensive, but if it helps.
4.0 out of 5 stars good quality
order ed a cheaper item and returned it this one is a good fit on the leg only one thing it slips off my dogs backside so we adjusted it by fitting a strap from his harness onto the brace it as helped with his walking quite a lot
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!
I don't normally review products, however I just had to with this.I have a Jack Russell, she's nearly 11 and we wanted to try the leg brace as an alternative to surgery. The vet was concerned due to her age as were we for putting her through surgery for a cruciate ligament damage. She was unable to walk (and still can't fully weight-bare). With this leg brace on, as you can see, she is able to put her foot down and walk around the house "normally". It has helped her so much and she is now able to take small walks around our road and we are building up gradually.Would definitely recommend this product to those that want to try an alternative to surgery for ACL. The fit was perfect and we did measure her properly before ordering the leg brace, using the guide to help.
1.0 out of 5 stars Loose and ill fitting
We ordered this product for our Dalmation which required knee support for repairing ligament damage. The product provided zero support the joint. It was loose and could not be tightened around the leg to provide the required support. Complete waste of money. Whats more when I actioned the return I discovered that I would have to pay for postage to send it back to the US from the UK . Complete waste of time and money. DONT BUY!
3.0 out of 5 stars The fitting
I bought this for my 17 month old jake Russell he has hip dysplasia and a torn crucial ligament was put on crate rest..I thought I try thos for when I the hom out to do hos thing..but unfortunately it didn't fit..I put I'm the correct measurement but it just slid of and rubbed on his privates..Sent it back straight away..so didn't get to use it..it might work on some dogs but not mine
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
My dog recently torn her cruciate ligament. We tried cheaper braces but they slipped off or offered no support. This brace maybe pricey but it is worth every penny! It gives maximum support and stays in place, it does not slip off the back. The Velcro is super strong so the brace stays in place. I would highly recommend this product!
5.0 out of 5 stars This knee brace is really good fabulous support helps my dog a lot
Fabulous support nice a comfortable when on will buy again
2.0 out of 5 stars Security on the pet
Not much support for the money, product easily slips over hindquarters on the dog.Thought some idea of a brace in the fabric depends on tightness, which could affect circulation of blood and cause numbness!
Easy to use and seemingly comfortable for my Dog.
The neoprene brace does not have a strong amount of stability, but the knee does fit well in the pocket, and the Velcro strap works well to hold the brace in place.
Facil de colocar
Realiza un buen trabajo para soportar la pierna del perro
Wonderful
A life saver. My mom’s 17 year old Schnoodle suddenly had trouble walking on his left rear leg and kept falling over and couldn’t even stand up. Vet thought it could be a torn ACL ligament. She put him on gabapentin (for pain) and rimadyl (for pain & inflammation) and recommended a brace like this one. This one is perfect, but definitely needs the matching harness to keep it up. Buy both and you’re set.
Seems to be helping
This brace seems to be doing its job in offering stability with walking/running for our 12 year old 50lb. retriever mix dog. The vet recommended a very costly TPLO surgery (he offered no other temporary or cheaper fix) for her back right leg so we did our research to find an affordable alternative. With the brace, she is able to walk steadily and put weight on her injured leg. The only problem is that the velcro strap does not stay in place as well as we would like. At least once or twice a day, the strap ends up sliding off her backside. The velcro is attached as securely as possible and the brace fits her leg properly, so maybe we are not securing the strap as tight as we should? Not really sure what else to try to get the strap to stay put.
Sleeve was helpful for our older springer
Our elderly springer spaniel damaged her CCL and could not put weight on the leg. Our vet agreed that she is too old for surgery and recommended rest and meds in hopes she would heal. In addition to resting her for weeks, we would put this sleeve on her during the day and for any trips out to the bathroom. The sleeve provided good support and allowed her to move to her food/water bowls and on lead for trips outside. Other reviewers have said it doesn't stay in place. It does require some adjustment through the day. But we felt the support it offers is worth the occasional adjustment.
